Harry fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow. Finally...bedrest. That was exactly what he needed. Hermione stroked his hair as he slept. She had missed him alot. But there was someone else that she missed as well. And that was Draco.

Sure, he was pushy, demanding, and strict. But he loved her. She knew that much. And now it looked like she didn't love him. Hermione frowned. Of course she loved him. He knew that...didn't he?

Outside, snow was falling gently. She looked at the calender. It was only a few days until Christmas! She had to get Draco a christmas present! Her mind raced, trying to think of something that would make up for what she put him through. Something came to mind and she raced out of Harry's apartment, leaving a quick note on the table.

She had things to do.

Draco, however, had all the time in the world, now that Hermione was out of his life. Or so he thought. But she was constantly in his thoughts, tagging along at the back of his mind. Hermione-isms came up while he was shopping, and he found himself decorating the house for Christmas the way she would have. He bought her little things that he thought she might enjoy, piling them under the Christmas tree.

Not that he thought she'd return. She had the famous Harry Potter by her side. But that didn't mean anything to him. It was like a dream. Sometimes, he even found himself holding conversations with her, or asking a question, and listening for her answer.

Work failed to catch his interest, and his new partner, Adam East, noticed something was off.

"Hey Draco."

"Yes Hermione?" He asked dreamily.

"Uh...Adam?"

"What? Oh....oh yea, sorry Adam. Must have drifted off." Draco sat up in his office chair. They had just gone through the files before the Christmas break. They were all neat and orderly, prepared for the new year.

"You always drift off nowadays. What's the problem?" Adam inquired, and sat in the guest chair.

"I....I think I'm losing my mind. Because of Hermione." Draco admitted.

"Did she leave you?"

"Yea...for Harry Potter."

"That guys in the Auror department?" Draco nodded. "He doesn't look all that special. What does he have that you haven't?"

"Hermione." Draco said, and went towards the door. "Happy Christmas and New Year Adam."

"Bye Draco, same to you." He gave Draco a thoughtful look, then shook his head. He locked the door behind him and went home.

Christmas Eve was white and cold, the air a little nippy, but it didn't matter if you had a fireplace. And someone to hold. Draco had one, but not the other. He went to bed early, fighting back tears.

He heard some noises coming downstairs, but if they were burglers, he didn't care. Let them have his things. It was only him now. Him...in this house built for two, now for one. He rolled over and fell asleep.

Harry woke up and looked around. Hermione was gone. He got up and looked at the table. There was a note. He read it and smiled.

Draco woke up the next morning alone and cold. He sat in bed for a few minutes. What was the point of getting up? There's no one to say happy christmas to, no one to share this special day with.

Just then, his stomach growled. Hm, perhaps there's something to get up for anyway. He pulled on his robe and made his way downstairs. The Christmas tree sat in the middle of the room, glistening with white sparkles that looked like snow. On the floor in front of it was a rather large package marked Draco Malfoy. He looked at it, puzzled. Surely he did not buy anything for himself?

Draco went over and looked at the tag.

Christmas time is here
Happiness and cheer,
Fun for all that children call
Their favorite time of year

This is my favorite time of year too.....look in the kitchen.

Draco cocked his head and sniffed the air. There was a smell....like...bacon? He rushed to the kitchen. Hermione was there in a teal robe, setting a plate of bacon next to a heaping pile of pancakes. Eggs and toast sat on other plates, and in front of the space marked Draco, there was a large mug of steaming hot coffee.

"Hermione....." He whispered.

"Happy Christmas Draco." Hermione said quietly. "I want you to know that I love you very much, and I'm never going to leave you again."

"That makes me very happy." Draco whispered again, and pulled her towards him. Music began to creep from the corners of the house, and they began to dance.

"I've got a star to hang." Hermione said to him after they were finished. Draco looked around. She took it out of the pocket of her robe. It was a rather small box, shaped like a Christmas Star. "Open it."

Draco took it and opened up the box. Inside was a diamond star, all five points perfectly aligned. He put it on the top of the tree. They smiled.

"It's beautiful Hermione." Draco said, and kissed her softly.

"I've got something else for you too." She said rather shyly. "I know it's rather unorthodox, but....."

"Hermione, what is it?" Draco asked, a smile playing around his lips.

"This." Hermione opened up another box, a little smaller than the first. She opened it in front of him.

It was a gold band, with a small design playing around the edges.

"Draco, will you marry me?" Hermione asked, looking into his eyes. Draco tore himself away and ran upstairs. Hermione watched him, confused. He came back down and kneeled in front of her.

"I will....if you marry me first." Draco said, and opened his box. There was a diamond ring, surrounded by emeralds in the middle of the red velvet. Hermione gasped when she saw it.

"Draco, it's beautiful!" She exclaimed, and they switched boxes. Hermione put hers on, and Draco did likewise.

"There's only one thing missing." Draco said. Hermione looked at him questioningly.

"What?"

OK, one more chapter left!

Sorry Tara, but Harry is better than that. He wouldn't make a move on Hermione, he's got more poise than that!

NO! I was totally braced for Harmony! I thought it was going in that way! It totally seemed that way!

But I'm happy for Hermione and Draco. I totally am.

Wow, it's funny because you reviewed the story I'm writing (Pansy's Secret) so I really wanted to come and read some of the stuff you're writing. I am really impressed! I like your writing style very much and this is an excellent story! The interaction between Draco and Hermione is very good and quite believable. You've won over another true fan, PAMS!

Sorry Lena, but I've never liked Harmony, it just seems....I don't know, I just don't see them being together, although I've written several stories about them being together.

"Thanks for inviting me over for New Years, guys." Harry thanked Draco and Hermione as he walked into their house. He looked around in awe.

"Thanks Harry. I'm glad you could come." Hermione said over the noise. There were alot of guests at the Malfoy residence. Co-workers from the Ministry filled the tiny rooms, and friends from Hermione's old job were flirting and rousing up fun. Harry made himself comfortable and started another conversation.

Hermione looked around. "Oh Draco, this is fantastic! I can't wait until next year!"

"Why Hermione?" Draco asked, and put his arm around her waist.

"Because by then, I'll be able to call myself 'Mrs. Draco Malfoy'. I like the ring to it."

"And I never thought I'd get married." Draco joked and got himself another glass of champaign.

"What do you mean?" Hermione asked, and poured herself a Shirley Temple.

"Well....I never thought of myself as the kind of guy to settle down with a beautiful woman. But then you came Hermione." Draco looked into her eyes. "And I'm glad you did."

Hermione smiled. She looked around her small yet pretty house. Harry was playing a game with Bubbles, one of the girls from Hermione's old job. They looked like they were pretty comfortable with each other. Hermione and Draco sat down and joined them.

"Alright, who's ready for a quick game of 'Spin the Bottle'?" Harry announced, and pulled out a small bottle. Couples materialized out of nowhere, and the game began.

After a few rounds, and a few more glasses of wine, the game got more and more exciting. Now it was Hermione's turn. She took the bottle in her hands, and spun it.

Round and round and round until it landed on....

"Harry! Time to kiss Harry!" Candy yelled. Hermione and Harry looked at each other.

"Well? Aren't you going to kiss me?" Harry asked, grinning. Hermione grinned, and leaned foward and kissed him. Their lips pressed together, and out of the corner of Harry's eye, he saw Draco go slightly red.

"Countdown!" The shout broke Harry and Hermione apart, slightly breathless. Hermione took her place beside Draco, and Bubbles clutched Harry's arm.

"...seven...six...."

"Draco? I love you."

"......four.....three....."

"I love you too Hermione."

"...one....HAPPY NEW YEAR!"

The cry rumbled the small house as people began shouting and singing.

"Should old aquaintence be forgot and never brought to mind!" Harry began to sing, and the rest quickly joined in.

"Should old aquaintence be forgot and days of auld lang sine." They concluded, laughing and talking.

"So when's the marriage taking place?" Leslie asked Hermione.

"April. It's my favorite month, and Draco has a two week vacation then. That's when we're honeymooning."

"Where are you going?"

"We're touring France and Italy." Draco said as he came over. "That was what Hermione wanted."

"Wow....doesn't that cost alot of money?" Leslie asked, concerned.

"Yea, but that wasn't my choice." Draco said. "It was Hermione Choice, and I'm glad it was."

Thanks to all who struggled through it all with Draco and Hermione, and I'm sorry Harmony shippers, but Hermione just doesn't and shouldn't roll that way!

*slumps back into chair*

I don't know what to say now.

And no apology needed. I understand what it's like for non-Harmony shippers.

I'm truly and utterly gobsmacked now.
