Hey! By popular request, a sequel has been added to Dreaming of You Sa+13! It takes place after Hermione and Draco arrive in London. Here's the gist of the story:

Draco has been offered a position in the Ministry. He takes it with no hesitation, and Hermione goes with him, leaving her flat in Italy. After they get there, they buy a small house not far from the Ministry. Draco isn't bringing alot of money in at the moment, and Hermione begins to take secret jobs to help pay for things. What kind if jobs is she doing? Would Draco approve? But there's more:

Hermione, tired of poverty, begins to rekindle an old relationship while Draco slaves to make ends meet. Then...Draco gets kidnapped by unknown wizards! I's up to Hermione and her old friend to save him!

"OK Hermione, I'm leaving!"

"Wait Draco! You forgot your lunch!" Hermione quickly cut off his escape and thrust the brown bag at him. He sighed.

"Baby-"

"I know you just throw it out, but just take it, ok? At any rate, to make me feel better, ok?" Draco grinned and kissed her cheek.

"Love you, see you at dinner."

"Have a good day." Hermione waved as he limped away. His legs still weren't fully healed, but the crutches weren't needed anymore.

Hermione looked at the hand that had stopped waving. No wedding ring. She sighed. Maybe Ginny had been right. Maybe Hermione should have demanded commitment. But Draco was so worried about this job...he didn't want Hermione to be stuck with a man with no job.

But Hermione should have told him that she didn't care. She should have told him that she'd help as well. That he needed her....well, she couldn't do anything about it now. It was time for her to get to work.

Hermione put on a black halter top and a short red skirt. She let her hair down, and put on a pair of short black boots. This was her uniform. She wondered if Draco would be ashamed. But she sold herself well, and they desperately needed the money. But first, a trip to the bank. She had to deposit last night's sales.

Draco slowly made his way over to the big building. He went into the phone booth and stated his name and occupation. Soon he was in the Ministry of Magic. Employee's waved at him, respectful of him, not because of his father, but his mother. And it was her name that he used, not Malfoy.

"Good morning Mr. Black! How is the family?" Mr. Fiddle, department of Misuse of Muggle Artifacts, spoke to him.

"Gone, but not forgotten. How's yours?"

"Splendid, splendid! I'm up for a raise!" He waved and left, hurrying to his office. Draco smiled. With his new last name, it was like he was a new person. He limped over to the elevator and climbed in. He pressed the button for the 5th floor and the doors closed. They opened onto a busy floor.

Draco stumbled into the corner office, labeled [/I]Muggle Relations head of office, Mr. Edward Phillips.[/I] Draco pushed the door open and came inside.

"Mr. Malfoy, come in! Or is it Mr. Black now?" Mr. Phillips came around his desk to shake Draco's hand.

"It's Black now. I thought it best. How are you sir?"

"Very well, very well. How is the missus?"

"I'm not married." Draco said rather stiffly. Phillips got the hint and didn't pursue the subject.

"Erm, yes. Well, your assignments are..." Draco sat back and listened to his first assignment.

Hermione deposited her tip money in the bank and headed to the seedy part of London. She looked around, and entered a rather large, but not tall, building. She sighed her name on the list by the door, and closed it.

"Oh good Hermione. You're here!" A haggard looking blonde came through a curtain. "They're quite a group tonight!" She wore a sparkly blue tank-top and short shorts. Her long blonde hair was pulled back into a french braid. Blue boots completed the look.

"As long as they don't fight. You know I can't break them up!" Hermione sighed, and took a look for herself. Candi was right. They were a bit rowdy tonight. "I just can't do it."

"Don't worry about it 'Mione. They're rowdy, but we've got more security in here since last week. You weren't there, but boy! We almost went out of business." Candi signed her name to the off duty sheet. "And if someone asks for rum, tell them we're out. Bye!" Candi waved and ran out the door. Hermione put on an apron and headed out into the bar to start her day.

Hermione barely managed to get home before Draco. She just came out of the shower when she heard his fumbling at the door. She ran to open it.

"Hey Hermione. How was your day?" Draco asked as he came in. He sank into a chair by the fireplace.

"Oh...not too busy. I managed to deposit some of your check in the bank. We're looking pretty good in there." Hermione went behind him and massaged his shoulders with her tired hands. Opening beers for drunks wasn't her idea of a relazing time for her hands!

"Oh really? That's good....good..." Draco started to doze off.

"Want dinner? And coffee?"

"Yes to both. Thanks babe." Draco kissed her hands and let her go. Hermione went into the small kitchen to cook dinner. She thought about how long she could pull off being a housewife and a bartender. She gave a huge sigh. Working two jobs was tiring work!

There...better? All clear? Hermione is NOT a hooker!

Draco left work the next day on a mission. But he wasn't alone. Peter Maloy, fellow Muggle Relations officer, was with him.

"Now, these people still believe dragons inhabit South America." Peter whispered to Draco on the bus.

"They do, don't they?"

"Yes! That's why! That's their relocation area! These people are sending tourists, and people are getting hurt!" Peter said eagerly.

"Right..." Draco tried to focus. First day on the job, he didn't want to get side-tracked. He looked out the window and saw...Hermione?

"Whoa....look out the window. Sexy beast number one walking down!" Peter was well-known for being a girl-watcher. Draco tried to look away. "Dude, you gotta SEE this! I'll bet she's American!"

"So? It's just a girl." Draco said uncomfortably. Why wasn't she at the house?

"Wonder where she's....THERE! In that bar! Draco, we gotta check this out afterwards!"

"Oh just leave it alone Pete!" Draco finally yelled at him. "Who cares where that girl was going?"

"Umm....I do?" Peter replied, and continued to stare at Hermione *ss.

Hermione stormed into the bar angrily, and threw on her apron. This wasn't her day to work, but Honey couldn't make it that day. Unfortunately, Hermione had to use the front door today. The back one was in for repairs.

"Thanks Hermione. I know it's your day off, but we need someone to fill in for Honey. Baby can't watch the bar all by herself, and it's only for a few hours." Angel apologised. Hermione waved it off.

"It brings money in, that's for sure. Don't worry. Where is Honey anyway?" Hermione asked as she picked up a glass and washed it.

"A job interview I think. She doesn't want to work here forever. Lucky Lindy's very understanding." Angel said, then sighed. "She was the best bar-dancer we ever had."

Hermione smiled. "Oh, you'll find another one."

"Say Hermione-"

"The answer's no." Hermione said before Angel could open her mouth. Angel laughed. "Draco would kill me. Actually...he'd kill me now!"

"For working here?"

"Yup! Draco doesn't exactly approve of bars. Not to mention the name they have given me." She pinned the name tag Sweetie onto her white tank-top. Hermione tossed the glass in the rack and headed out into the bar to serve.

Draco had managed to convince himself that it couldn't have been Hermione walking into that bar. She knew how much he despised them! After the meeting, him and Peter climbed back onto the bus, tired and hungry.

"Some people just don't know when to take a hint!" Peter complained.

"Or they're just thick-headed." Draco tried to soften it. "They are just muggles, after all."

"Yea, but I'm so sick of doing Memory Charms, and putting new memories in. Usually, I save it for a last resort, but no dice today. How about a beer? My treat?"

"I dunno Pete....I don't usually hold with bars."

"Aw, just this once Draco. Live a little. Have a few beers, then we can go home feeling better about the day, eh?"

"Oh....alright." Draco relented, and let Peter pick the bar. It just happened to be the one Hermione was working at....

Hermione began filling glasses as soon as she got behind the bar. Calls of "Hey Sweetie, fill this up for me, will ya?" ran from both ends of the long bar. Finally, the rush over, Hermione leaned against the bar next to Baby, cleaning a beer glass.

"At least they aren't breaking them tonight." Baby said with a sigh. "You know Hermione, I wish people I knew would come in here, then I could be working with people I know wouldn't start a fight or anything."

"Me too. But I like knowing no one here." Hermione said. Baby picked up a shot glass and filled it, putting in some ice.

"That's for me." Baby gulped it down in one breath. Hermione smiled.

"How long have you been here?"

"Since this morning. And it's been pretty quiet for a thursday, let me tell you." She filled another man's beer glass. "I'm glad your here 'Mione."

Hermione said nothing, and continued watching the muggles. Working at a muggle bar had it's perks. She could study them and not worry about arousing suspicion. When the occasional witch or wizard did come in, Hermione would lock eyes with them, and smile.But for now, she was the only magical being in the bar, and she wanted it to stay that way.

"Hey Sweetie! We want some entertainment here!" A loud roar from the crowd jerked Hermione out of her thoughts.

"Sorry, I don't entertain." Hermione said, and picked up a beer glass.

"Now, or I'll start a riot." The man leered at her body with a greedy look. "And I'm full capable of it."

"'Mione, you don't have to..." Baby said nervously. Hermione gave herself a shake, then leaped onto the bar.

"I don't want any trouble. Put this song on." Hermione whispered into Baby's ear and gave her a nickel. Baby put it in the jukebox. I'm A Slave 4 U by a muggle singer named Brittney Speares came on, and Hermione danced.

Hermione slid down the bar on her stomach, then leapt up and lapdanced for one of the cuter guys at the bar. There were whoops and shouts as more beers were purchased. Beer was flung onto Hermione, making her shirt stick to her body, but she was in her own world now. Hermione tossed beer on herself, and did a split in the bar, tossing her long mane of hair behind her. This was met with roars of approval. Baby watched with a sense of awe.

Geez, she's better than Honey! Baby thought as Hermione made her way across the bar. As the song ended, Hermione straddled the man who requested entertainment and drank a full mug of beer on him, spilling it on her now beer-stained white tank. The song ended, but the applause did not.

Hermione climbed on top of the bar and took a few bows.

Draco and Peter entered the bar when the applause started. Peter took a glance at the bar, but Draco was looking at the walls.

"Whoo! Draco! Look at the hottie up on the bar! Damn! She's fine! I'm gonna take a look! Get us a table, ok?" Peter ran up to the front before Draco could respond. Draco called one table, and was led to a double table. He ordered a screwdriver and waited for Peter to come back.

He watched the bar. Some girl was making a scene of herself, pouing beer all over her and the guys at the bar. She did look rather hot, but Draco had Hermione to think about. Finally, the song ended, and the girl took bows. Draco still couldn't see her face, her hair kept getting in the way. Peter came back, flushed with excitement.

"Dude! It's the same girl we saw out on the street! I swear! I'm getting her number!"

"Pete, it's just a girl. Leave it alone." Draco drank his beverage. After about an hour, he was ready to go home.

Hermione took her last bow, shaking the hair out of her face. Her eyes locked on....Draco?!?! Hermione gasped and almost fell off the bar. She slipped don off of it and hid behind it.

"What's the matter? You were awesome!" Baby cried out, and sat down next to her, listening to the tip-cup rattle.

"My...my...Draco's out there!" Hermione managed before shaking with fright.

"Who's Draco?" Baby asked, still confused.

"He's the guy I live with. He doesn't approve of me working, and especially at bars. If he saw or sees me, I'm dead! I gotta get out of here!" Hermione was beginning to panic. Baby tried to calm her down.

"Look, we're closing soon anyway. Why don't you just leave? I'll get Angel to cover for you, and Honey will be back tomorrow. Just get out of here 'Mione!"

"Thanks Anna! You're the best!" Hermione kissed Baby's cheek and scurried out the door. She cursed when she remembered the back door was broken. What was she going to do now? She slipped behind the bar and ran the walls length. Then she vaulted over the top of the bar, raising more applause. She took a quick bow and left, panting and almost hysterical.

Whew! That was close!

Hermione was waiting for Draco when he walked through the dorr 20 minutes later. He looked at her and walked into the kitchen.

"Draco-" Hermione started to say, but his hand cut her off. "What's wrong with you? What happened today that made you so upset at me?"

"You know damn well Hermione." Draco said, tired, and grabbed himself a beer from the fridge. "You were at a bar."

"I can explain-"

"Not only were you at the bar, for that's excusable, everyone needs a break, but you were dancing on top of the bar."

"Draco-"

"Can it 'Mione! You were working at the bar, and even hit on someone!"

"I most certainly did not-" Hermione was appalled at this accusation.

"Oh yea? Peter Maloy said you almost gave him your number, but something stopped you." Draco looked older than he was. Hermione, however, was outraged.

"That little sneak! Wait till I get my hands on him-"

"Shut up Hermione. I'm too tired to deal with this right now. And way too disappointed by you. Right now, all I want is to go to bed. And you as well."

"No Draco, I want to explain myself to you." Hermione blocked his escape.

"No 'Mione. I said tomorrow." Draco was getting frustrated. "I don't have the energy to deal with this right now."

"Well, I do. So you'd better shut up and pay attention." Hermione said firmly.

"I...said...NO." Draco was getting mad now. Hermione stood her ground.

"How come you can listen to Peter Maloy, but not me?"

"Hermione, I-"

"No! I worked at the bar to help pay the bills Draco. I'm contributing to the welfare of this house!"

"I'm not hearing this. I'm not hearing this." Draco put his hands over his ears. Hermione ripped them off.

"I don't care if you can hear me or not, but I'm not quitting my job Draco. Do you hear me? I'm NOT!" With that said, Hermione spun away and raced out the door.

Draco slumped down on the floor and began to cry.

Hermione ran out of the house and down the dimly lit London streets. Shadows seemed to jump at her on every corner. After her fury had passed, she realized she was in the seediest part of London. She grew frightened and longed for home.

I can find my way back...and when I do, I'll ask Draco to forgive me...

Hermione hung onto that thought like a drowning person to a life preserver. But it was easier said than done. The streets all looked the same. She began to hear things, a creak of a door, feeling robbers breath on the back of her neck.

Then, someone touched her shoulder, and she shrieked.

"DRACO! HELP ME!" The person covered her mouth with his hand and dragged her into a nearby building. He threw her onto one of the overstuffed chairs.

"Who are you and what are you doing here?" The person said, the voice was familiar, but one she couldn't place.

"My...My name is Hermione Granger and...and...oh sweet Jesus." She began to sob hysterically.

"Hermione Granger?" The man asked, startled.

"Y-yes."

"Hermione, it's me, Harry!" Hermione looked up at his friendly green eyes and felt her horror and sadness melt away.

"Harry!" She ran to him, and they embraced.
