Time to Lie…
Age 12 “Nicholas will you please get your feet off of the couch. There are more people here than just you.”
Nick glared at Kenzie and spotted her ugly tall brute of a boyfriend behind her. He didn’t want her boyfriend anywhere near him. His ugliness would rub off on him and destroy Nick’s cuteness. He was counting on that to get through life right now. Besides, she called him Nicholas so there was no way he was going to move willingly.
She let out a huff and looked around as if to make sure that her mother was nowhere in sight. Once she was sure she bent down to Nick.
“Squirt, either get up…or Tom will make you get up.”
Nick just looked over Kenzie’s shoulder and that ugly bloke standing behind her. The guy really didn’t scare him.
“I was here first Kenzie. Go find somewhere else to snog.”
Nick just stretched out more across the couch. She was not going to make him move. He was here first and they were just going to have to deal with it. All of sudden, there were hands on his feet and the ugly bloke was dragging him off of the couch. He grimaced as his head hit the floor.
Nick glared up at his sister as she took the spot where his head was previously located. He eyed her and her boyfriend as he sat on the couch next to her. Of course they immediately started snogging. Nick knew why they wanted the couch. Their mother was probably in the backyard garden or something like that.
He was so disgusted by them and angry that they had the nerve to pull him off of the couch that he just glared. Nick hardly ever got to spend some genuine alone time whenever he was staying with his parents. It made him crave going back to his grandparent’s even if that meant magic lessons. Nick could feel his emotion getting out of control. He knew that he should control them because there was a Muggle in the house, but he couldn’t help himself.
All of a sudden the two teenagers cell phones started to spark (Kenzie’s on the table and ugly dude’s in his pocket). This didn’t stop the two from snogging though. It seemed like Tom was dafter than Nick had assumed. Then the phones exploded. Kenzie screamed in shock. Tom looked down at the hole in his pocket where his cell phone used to be.
“What the heck just happened?!” He looked at Kenzie and back at Nick.
Nick just smirked and shrugged his shoulders.
“I didn’t do anything. I was all the way over here.”
Then Mrs. Matthews ran into the room, a panicked look on her face.
“What happened? Is everyone all right?” She looked from her son on the floor to her daughter sitting on the couch to the burn marks on the end table and Tom’s jeans. She let out a sigh guessing what had happened.
“Nick why don’t you go outside. You can help me in the garden.”
Nick got up and smirked at his sister as he headed out back. He was going to tell his mother everything.
“Tom dear. We’ll get you a new phone. Perhaps it just short circuited or something…”
Nick couldn’t help but laugh.
It short circuited all right. There was nothing left.
