Alrighty, so this is a double author story by myself and 3uzz3ee, who also goes by Abi This story is about Jamie, Alicia, Draco, and Emily. I hope you enjoy the ride! Everything in the Harry Potter world belongs to the amazing JK Rowling, except for the characters Abi and I have made up, which include Jamie, Alicia, and Emily. I hope you enjoy!

Draco rounded the corner and found an out of breath Emily. She looked up, surprised to see someone else out so early in the morning. It was usually deadly quiet and still at Hogwarts at five in the morning.

“What are you doing up and about this early in the morning?” she asked him.

“I could ask you the same thing,” Draco said.

Emily motioned for him to sit down beside her. He hesitated but eventually gave in. He would always have a soft spot for the red head.

“Why are you up so early?” Draco asked.

“Morning run, helps me think,” she replied. She glanced at him, turning her head. She noticed that he looked paler than usual, which was saying something. “Where were you headed?”

“Owlery,” he said shortly.

“For?” she drawled.

“If I wanted to tell you, I would have, Black!” he spat. He turned on her, but then regretted it the moment he saw her expression. She was just trying to make small talk.

“You can’t fool me of all people, Draco. I don’t know what you’re playing at these days, but be bloody sure I’ll stop it if you threaten my friends,” Emily said. She stood up quickly and ran back outside toward the lake.

Draco watched her auburn mane flay out in the wind behind her. He wished he wouldn’t have yelled. That’s what you’re good at, Draco, he thought to himself. You always mess things up, and she’s the prime example. Huffing, Draco turned toward the direction of the owlery.

Emily ran another lap around the school, weaving in and out of the buildings. When she returned to the lake, she collapsed under a tree. The shade had a few gaps in it, and she could feel the heat from the sun beating down on her. She blocked out the sun with her left hand and glanced at her watch in the process. It was seven o’clock. It had been two hours since her encounter with Draco. Draco. Sigh. Would she ever be truly over him? And what was up with his whole Alicia infatuation? Her arm hit the grassy surface with a thud.

Ah HA! Looks promising! I wonder why you never told me you was doing this. You are a terrific writer, and I'm sure I'll enjoy Abi's also. I'll be watching for more.

Alicia rolled over at hit the alarm clock. Looking up, she glanced at the luminous numbers. Seven o’clock… Hermione was still asleep. Emily’s bed was vacant though.

‘Must be running again…’ Alicia thought, sighing and getting dressed. ‘America should be back by now… I think I’ll send that letter home now- the owlery should be empty’ Alicia snuck out the room and through the corridors, looking round in case she saw Emily anywhere. As she climbed the owlery stairs, she noticed the door at the top was ajar. Pushing it open and walking in, she regretted it immediately.

“Malfoy…” She said quietly, sticking to the wall as she scanned the rafters for her snowy owl. Trying not to draw attention to herself, she waved the owl down and tied the scroll to her leg. “Try not to let him see you…” She whispered to the owl. America hooted and took off. Alicia ducked behind the pillar in case he heard the noise. Breathing deeply, she heard footsteps coming up the stairs. Peering round her hiding place, she watched as Jamie walked into the room. She smiled and waved. He returned it, not noticing the boy standing by the windows.

“Good morning!” Jamie said cheerfully as Alicia bounded towards him, her emerald curls bouncing round her shoulders. “Can I borrow America?”

“Nope… She just left with my letter” She said, grinning as his face fell into mock misery. “There’s always Hedwig?” He smiled as she kissed his cheek and the owl flew down onto her shoulder.

“The weather’s lovely today… Fancy a walk?” He said, grabbing her hand and leading her out the door. Alicia glanced over her shoulder to make sure that Malfoy hadn’t heard them. She wasn’t sure as his back was to them.

“Sure… Why not? We might see Emily- she’s gone for a morning run…” She added, answering his unsaid question. The two made their way towards the lake, taking the long way, round the greenhouses, laughing and joking.

Hello Abi! Yes! I see you're here with a great post! This story looks like a lot of fun. I know though that all things can't be fun and games. I'm very anxious to get to know the characters, and watch the story line unfold.

Hehe, thanks guys. Here's the next post. It's a wee short post to show Draco's thoughts.

Draco turned just in time to see Jamie and Alicia round the corner of the owlery. He listened to their entire conversation, growing frustrated. If only I had noticed her before that oaf appeared, he thought. He kicked the wooden wall of the building, creating dust to fly everywhere. A few owls hooted their annoyance, but Draco didn’t care. He gave them a demented glare before he swiftly walked away. He had just sent Drakkon away with a letter that would throw her for a loop. He smirked, knowing his plan would work. It had to.

Draco made his way back up to the Great Hall for breakfast, but not before he glanced around looking for Emily. He needed to apologize. Draco shook his head slightly, wishing he could get her out of his mind. They had ended it for a reason, she had ended it for a reason, and there wasn’t anything he could do about it. Besides, he needed to concentrate on the road that lies ahead—Alicia.

While walking, he sighed as he thought of her bright blue eyes, long brown hair that swept in the wind when she moved fast enough, the way her freckles pop out on her skin in the twilight—freckles? Get your mind far away from Emily, Draco. She’ll never love you again, he thought.

Draco finally made his way towards the Slytherin table, though it was still partially early. There were a few stragglers here for breakfast, but none he took any interest in. He gulped down some orange juice, wishing it were a Firewhiskey. He sulked the morning away as he thought of the two girls he didn’t have. One he would never have again no matter the promises they made together; the other was somebody else’s at the time being. But that one wasn’t lost forever, there was still hope.

Hello Emily. This was a very nice little post to show us Draco's mind. Cause I'm always I don't like him, then I do like him, don't, do, ... But, now, yeah I'm sure I don't like him, although I do appreciate a sweetness he seems to have about him. I'll be watching forr the next post. Great job.

With no sign of Emily, Jamie pulled Alicia to a stop on the far side of the lake. She turned and smiled at him.

“Worried about Harry?” She asked, cocking her head to one side as she heard his thoughts. “Don’t worry… I am too” She said, wrapping her arms round his waist and laying her head on his chest.

“Can you see anything bad for him?” He asked and she shook her head. He sighed and kissed her emerald coloured curls, which turned a light brown and waved down her back.

“Race you to the edge of the lake” She grinned, letting go of him and looking up into his face.

“You’re on… Ready? Steady-” He said, crouching slightly.

“GO!” Alicia shouted as she sped off. He set off quickly as her laughter carried back in the wind to him. He sped up and her hair, which was flying behind her, was in touching distance.

She turned and her blue eyes glittered as she saw how close he was to her. She grinned at him before turning back to her goal. Jamie grinned and gained an extra spurt of speed, passing her and reaching the bank first.

“I win…” He breathed as she slowed down, her smile no longer on her face. “Even with you cheating…”

“I didn’t cheat… Guess what?” She said, side- stepping closer to him so that the reflection of the sun glittered off her long hair.

“What?” He said, looking sideways at her. She grinned before pushing him. He toppled and fell head first into the water.

“You’re a bit wet…” She laughed, flicking her hair back behind her shoulders.

“Thanks for that… Hey, I can see Emily… EMILY!” Jamie shouted, waving at the figure in the distance.

Hello Abi, I loved your post. It was all very sweet charming, and refreshing. These two are so sweet together, I sure don't want Draco to ruin anything. I'll be watching for the next post.

Here's the next bit

Emily glanced up at the sound of her name. She squinted her eyes, noticing two figures by the lake. One was in the dark water, the other smiling from the ground. She waved back, somewhat enthusiastically.

“Hey guys!” she yelled to Jamie and Alicia.

Emily started to stand, brushing the grass from her backside. Emily walked slowly over to them, not much in the mood for company. She was still gloomy from her encounter this morning.

She giggled when she saw Jamie getting out of the water. “Let me guess—you pushed him in?” she asked Alicia.

Alicia nodded with a grin. “Have you eaten breakfast yet? We were about to head up there if you’d like to join us,” Alicia said.

Jamie looked seriously at Alicia. “Alicia, what’s that on your hand?” Jamie asked.

“What?” she asked as she brought her hand up to look at it. “You must be seeing things, Jamie. There’s nothing there,” she said as she showed it to him.

Jamie took hold of her hand with a malicious grin plastered on his face. “I guess you’re right,” he said. Before Alicia could pull her hand away, Jamie yanked her into the lake with him. Emily laughed loudly at them. “Huh, you’re a bit wet,” he laughed. Alicia laughed lightly.

“Thanks for that,” she repeated. She noticed Emily laughing, and gave her a grin. “Why don’t you join us?” she asked.

“No thanks,” Emily said, giggling.

Alicia glanced at Jamie once and then they both moved towards her. Emily shook her heads at them. “You wouldn’t dare,” she said, dropping her smile. She started backing up, but not soon enough. Jamie and Alicia both caught one of her legs and pulled her into the water too.

Emily came above the water surface, coughing slightly. “Thanks, guys.” Alicia and Jamie laughed at her as somebody rounded the corner of the tree and came into view. Emily noticed Pansy’s pug face. Frowning, she started getting out of the water. Emily wanted to be nowhere near her.

“Well, well, well,” Pansy said with a sneer.

“What do you want, Parkinson?” Emily asked with disdain.

“Just wanted to tell you to stay away from Draco. I see you stalking him and following his every move. He’s mine, Black, so stay away,” she said threateningly. “He doesn’t want anything to do with a blood traitor like you, not to mention a filthy Gryffindor,” she said with disgust.

“Thanks for the thought,” Emily said indifferently. She grabbed her wand and started drying off as Alicia and Jamie climbed out of the lake.

“Be warned,” she said as she turned on her heel and left.

“What was that about?” Jamie asked.

“Nothing, it was about nothing,” Emily replied. Alicia put a hand on Emily’s shoulder but she shrugged it off. “I, er, I’ll see you later. I, er, have to go do something,” Emily said. Before Alicia and Jamie could get another word out, Emily ran off.

Boy, am I getting a workout this morning, Emily thought as she ran beyond the Whomping Willow and through a field. Running helped her think. It helped her be at peace and get her anger off of her chest. She was upset and running helped her get away from that. If she stopped now, she would break down completely. She would sob until there weren’t any tears left. Emily ran through grass that was as high as her knees. It made her legs itch, but she didn’t care. She kept going. That’s what every one always told her to do. Keep going.

It didn’t matter that it was hard for her to keep going. Nobody cared that it hurt for her to keep going. Nobody cared that if they kept pushing her, she would be pushed right off the edge.

Emily collapsed into the field, no longer able to keep going. She curled herself into a ball and cried into her arm. She couldn’t take it anymore. Her teachers pushed her to do her best, and she couldn’t take their disappointment when she didn’t exceed their standards. Draco pushed her into their relationship with too much excitement. She couldn’t deal with the talks of marriage and the family they’d start. They couldn’t even tell the whole world of their relationship, so how could they get married?

I don’t care what they say about us, Ems, she remembered him saying that night. All that matters is that we’re together, forever and always, remember?

But what about our friends, our families? They should know about us, Draco, she had told him.

We’ll run away, just you and me. We’ll build a mansion on the beach. You love the beach—it will be perfect, he said, ignoring her.

You’re not listening, Draco. I’m not leaving my family and friends. I love them too. Why can’t we just come into the open?

Because he’ll sabotage us and maybe try to kill you. I can’t put you in danger. And us telling everyone will put you in danger. I don’t want to lose you, he had said as he held her tightly. She had struggled from his grip and stood up.

Emily shook the thoughts from her mind. That was one night she never wanted to relive. Every time she thought about it, she thought about the mistakes she may have made. The months after were horrific for her. She longed for him to come back to her, but she knew it wouldn’t happen. He wasn’t the one that had left—she was. Emily continued to cry until the sunlight was well over her head. She had been out there for hours on end and knew she was probably causing some people to worry, but she didn’t move. She ignored her growling stomach and stayed right where she was, alone, just like she’d be for the remainder of her life, because Draco Malfoy was no longer an option, and that was her only option, the only option she would ever consider. The only option she wanted.

Great post Emily! Emily is in such torment! Poor thing! I hope she can find happiness soon. Pansy is a jerk. She and Draco deserve each other!

Alright... You caught me

READY, STEADY, GO

Alicia and Jamie swapped looks as Emily vanished from view.

“Wait here…” Alicia said, drying herself off and backing towards the castle.

“Alicia, keep out of it” Jamie warned, following her. “It’s Emily’s business… Not yours” She ignored him and hurried off after the Slytherin, Jamie right behind her.

Alicia followed Pansy into the Great Hall where she caught her arm.

“OI! Let me go!” She said, turning to glare at Alicia, whose grip tightened.

“I want you to stay clear of Emily- otherwise I’ll break that pug nose of yours” Alicia threatened her voice barely a whisper. Jamie skidded to a stop behind her as she released the girl. “Do you understand me, Parkinson?”

“You don’t know what you’re talking about, Daniels” Pansy said, glaring at her again.

“I know more than you ever will!” She said loudly, not noticing the pale look on Malfoy’s face as he stood up from the Slytherin table. Alicia made a rude gesture at him.

“Alicia!” Jamie said, grabbing her arm and forcing it down to her side. She smiled innocently at him before kissing his cheek. Her eyes flashed pink for a second.

“Jamie, I’ve got to find Emily!” She said suddenly, grabbing his arm. He nodded, seeing the pain in her eyes and letting her run back out the Hall.

Alicia passed the Whomping Willow in a blur of colour, heading towards the nearest field. Peering through the grass, she noticed a flash of red amongst the green swaying in the breeze.

Alicia’s heart broke to see her best friend in this state. “Emily?” Alicia said softly, kneeling next to the red head. She seemed stumped for words as the tears continued to fall. “Do you want to talk about it? About him?” She asked, her hair turning a very light blue as she placed a hand on the girls’ knee.

Gah! I'll getchya back for that one

Emily didn’t take notice of Alicia at first. Her hand felt warm, but she still felt cold on the inside. How is it that one boy can have this strong of an effect on her? Emily hesitantly placed her hand over Alicia’s.

“If you lost Jamie, what would your reaction be?” Emily whispered, not meeting Alicia’s eyes.

“Something like this, I’d imagine,” Alicia said quietly.

“What if I was wrong, Alicia?” Emily whispered.

“About breaking up with Draco?”

“Mmmhmm,” Emily responded.

“Then maybe you should try to talk to him,” Alicia said, squeezing Emily’s hand.

“And if he doesn’t feel the same?”

“Then it’s not meant to be,” Alicia said. “What’s meant to be will always find its way.”

Emily nodded. She sat up on the grass, wiping her face free from tears. Emily’s left hand held her abdomen where there was a huge gap that nobody could see, but she could feel. She wondered what Draco felt about all this. She wondered if he really did mean forever and always like she had. But then again, she had broken their forever and always. She had dumped him because of everything that had built up in their path. Pansy, Lucius, Remus, her friends, his friends, their plans together—everything. Emily’s stomach grumbled and she giggled half-heartedly.

“Why don’t we go get something to eat?” Alicia suggested. Emily nodded feebly.

Emily stood, wiping the grass and dirt off her shorts and shirt. She held her hand out to Alicia, who took it. “Do you think he’d take me back?”

“If he’s smart,” Alicia said. Emily chuckled lightly.

The two girls made their way back to the castle. Lunch was now going on, and they sat at the Gryffindor table. Emily glanced automatically at the Slytherin table. Pansy was down right glaring at her.

“Oh, that, don’t worry about it. I took care of it,” Alicia said as she noticed where Emily was looking.

“What did you do?” she asked, horror struck.

“Well, I gave her a piece of my mind.”

“Alicia! What were you thinking? Do you have any idea what you’ve done?” Emily asked rather loudly.

“No, it can’t be that bad. I just told her to back off,” Alicia said.

“You just brought Lucius into this,” she whispered angrily.

“How exactly could that bring Lucius into it?” she asked.

“Oh I don’t know, maybe because Pansy and Draco are supposed to get married. So, when you told Pansy to back off, she owled her father who owled Draco’s father, who will kill the both of us if he finds out about everything,” she whispered sarcastically. “That was one reason we broke up!”

“Oh, I didn’t think of it like that,” Alicia said, her hair turning black.

“Did you think at all?” Emily asked angrily as she stood up from the table, grabbed a sandwich, and left the room quickly.

Draco watched the red head shout angrily at her friend. He smiled, thinking his plan would be easier than he thought. If he could break those two up, then he could easily, maybe, break up Alicia and her idiotic boyfriend.

“Drakey, Daddy wants to meet us in Hogsmeade next weekend to discuss our future. He said he’ll talk to your daddy too so he can come as well,” Pansy purred in his ear. He mentally threw up, sickened by the fact that she was so close to him.

“Fine, whatever, Pansy. Don’t call me Drakey, my name is Draco.” Draco rolled his eyes.

“Oh please, you know you like it,” she purred as she fluffed his hair with her hand.

Draco took a deep breath as her hand went through his hair. “Right well, I have to go study, Pansy. Alone,” he said clearly as he stood up quickly and left.

He noticed Emily leaving too and waited for her in the deserted hall. He caught her hand as she came around the corner.

“What are you doing?” she whispered as he led her to a deserted classroom.

“You looked upset,” he said quietly.

“Yeah, well, it doesn’t matter.”

“But doesn’t it?” he whispered as he moved closer.

“Draco, I think I made a—” she started.

“Don’t do this, Emily,” he said quietly as he pushed her curls over her shoulder.

“What? No, I have to tell you something,” she said.

“It doesn’t matter what you tell me, Emily. I moved on. I suggest you do the same,” Draco said as he left the room, leaving Emily alone. Draco went back to his dormitory to start his Transfiguration homework.

Emily went back to her dormitory, laid down on her bed, and closed the curtain. Draco had just crushed every last hope she had left. She was bitter and unhappy and afraid of ending up alone. Do fifteen year olds have these type of problems? Emily sighed, knowing she fell too hard too fast. Pat Benatar was right—love is a battlefield. You just have to know when you’re supposed to pull your troops, your heart out or when you’re supposed to fight. And that was the dilemma—to move on or to fight?

Emily, hey there! Great job on your post. The two of you are doing a great job with writing this, and being able to keep the story true to each others storyline. I'm impressed. Keep up the great work!

Yes! I knew I was right to feel scared about Alicia's words with that Pansy girl! Yes. I think she thought she was fighting for her best friend. Grrr! Alicia's boyfriend isn't idiotic, and he best not try to come between them! I'm sorry, but at this stage of the story, you can't convince me that Draco isn't a bad person. He may have a few good qualities, but I'm not seeing them. But, Draco is the one pulling her to an empty room talking soft messing with her hair, and being close to her. I say he is the one leading her on. She's getting her hopes built up, and then he says that to her. Sadly, this happens in life. Fifteen is awful young to have a broken heart though. Poor Emily!
