It took me a long time to get used to the house. My family had moved after I 'disappeared' and now I had a new room, new house, new town, new baby sister, new everything. They even bought me a kitten when I got out of school. My room was bland, as I got the old guest room. It had white wall, a peach colored carpet, a desk in the corner, and a tiny closet built on the right side wall.
Quickly I dug up my old things, hidden away in the attic. But soon discovered that I was no longer interested in most of her old things and her clothes no longer fit. A lot of shopping filled the first few weeks. I grew to like my little sister, Beth, though she cried all the time. My brother, William, hardly ever left my side. I never had a chance to be alone until I went to bed in my unfamiliar room.
I thought a lot when I lay awake in bed at night. There were many things I tried not to think about, mostly things revolving around Bellatrix. But at the same time I had plenty of things I wanted to think about. Most were about returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where I would be entering my fourth year, sort of. It was really my first year registered, even if I had attended for the past three years. But mostly I thought of who I would see there.
I really only knew one person there, so I didn't have many people to get excited about. But there was one. He was the one who saw me when no one else did, literally. He's the one who rescued me from Bellatrix (ugh...that brings back memories). He's the one who visited me every day in the hospital wing. He's the on who became my best friend. I had only seen him once during the summer and couldn't wait to see him again. Scorpius Malfoy, seer of invisible people.
Needless to say, when September first came along, I was excited to get out of the house. My trunk was packed, along with my broom stick and kitten, Toodles. I hugged William good-bye, as he was a graduate of Hogwarts and was staying home to watch over Beth, and I left with my parents.
We arrived at the station, my heart was beating in excited, pushing the cart holding my possessions in front of me I ran through the barrier, the only thing keeping me from the world of magic.
The first thing I did was look in marvel, it was my first time being seen past the barrier. The next thing I did was pick myself off the ground because of the major tackle hug Scorpius gave me while I wasn't paying attention. "That was payback for the tackle hug you gave me last time you were leaving," he told me as he brushed himself off.
"Scorpius, you git!" I hit his arm, then I gave him a regular hug. "Hi."
"Hi," he smirked, "How have you been?"
"Pretty good, yourself?"
"Dreadful, just dreadful, I had to skip breakfast this morning!" He sighed dramatically, "But I suppose my day's gotten better now that my partner in crime has arrived."
I just laughed, "I need to go say bye to my parents, save me seat on the train!"
Saying good bye to my parents took a bit because they were still very protective after the whole being invisible thing. Once I managed to pry away from them, I ran back to the train, lugging my trunk, broom, and Toodles, along side.
I found Scorpius, he was sitting in a compartment with Frank and Alice Longbottom. I entered, "Hey guys!"
Scorp was the only one to talk, the other two were too busy gawking at me, "Finally managed to get away from your rents?"
"Yep," I answered, "Um...Frank? Alice? Staring at me isn't going to make me look any different." They both turned bright red and looked away, mumbling apologies. I rolled my eyes, "It's okay guys."
I looked at Scorpius who had amusement written all over his face, I just glared at him and sat next to him.
"So..since when did you have a cat?" Scorpius asked, to break the awkward silence that had settled over the compartment.
"Since my parents doted me with everything," I rolled my eyes, again.
"What's her name?" Alice asked, reaching over to pet the sleeping kitten.
"Toodles," I answered in a matter of fact tone.
"Toodles? What kind of name is Toodles?" Scorpius asked, "I thought it would've been something more...cat like."
"Well, what kind of name is Scorpius?" I responded, "Thought it would've been something more..sarcastic."
"Oh ha ha ha, very funny," he rolled his eyes, completely proving himself to be sarcastic.
Shaking my head I looked out the window. I was used to staying quiet, used to being in the background. I knew that I would not be able to once I enter Hogwarts, people would go back to gawking and whispering at me. I was used to being looked through, but now I would be looked at. I wasn't sure if I liked that or not.
Then there was something else, before my little sister was born, I had disappeared the face of the planet. My parents were going to name the baby after me, Bethany. As crazy as I knew it was, I couldn't help but feel they had been trying to replace me with her. I came back and they shortened Bethany to Beth. I tried to get that thought out of my mind, but it had haunted me all summer.
I felt something touch my elbow and I jumped. You have to remember now that for two years nothing could touch me and I had only been visible for a few months. I turned and glared at Scorpius.
"Sorry.." Scorpius apologized, he knew I was really jumpy.
"It's okay.." I mumbled.
"Snack cart's coming by, you want anything?" Scorpius asked.
"Yeah sure, what about you guys?" I asked, turning to Frank and Alice.
The rest of the trip went by okay and next thing I knew, we were at Hogwarts, ready to start the new year.

Hiya! Thanks Cassie for telling them I'm gone! I still am by the way, I'm just taking two days or so to do laundry at my aunts then heading back to camp!
WOW, a lot of comments! Thanks you guys! Glad to have the feedback and such, I won't be able to post until later this month, thanks for being somewhat patient with me! Tomewitch, this takes place with the next gernation kids, Draco's kid is one of the main characters.
I think that I'm gonna have to read the first story before I continue with this one. I need to know what these characters went through in your last installment. I'm hooked!!
Yay! I have my old faithful readers, and now I have new ones! I am back from camp, though going back in a week or so, summer is hectic, I'll try to give you at least one update by then!
I was at school, for real this time. Sure, there were those last two months or so last year that I attended, but that hardly counted. This time counted because I got to eat the opening feast. And it was heaven. Though I was at a complete opposite table as Scorpius, I hardly noticed it between the mouthfuls of food. By the time I considered myself full, and the desserts disappeared, I was tired and ready for bed, but because I am who I am, that just couldn't happen.
I was walking with the rest of my house when I felt someone tapping my shoulder. I turned, there was a confident boy, dressed in Slytherin robes. He looked to be a fourth year, same as myself. "Hey! Bethany, right?"
"Er- yeah, that's me.." Shrugging, I wondered where this was going.
"Cool, I'm Nate." He slung he arm around my shoulder, and I shrugged it off, "Ouch! That's cold, just being a little friendly is all."
"If you want to be friendly, then next time try a handshake," I responded coolly.
"Ooh.." He feigned a hurt expression, "Then let me fix that," he held out his hand to be shaken. "My name's Nate, what's yours?"
"Nice try," Rolling my eyes I walked away, leaving him standing with his hand stuck out like an idiot. From the corner of my eye I saw him quickly pull his hand back and smooth his sandy hair.
"What was that about?" Rose Weasley muttered to me as I caught up.
"Nothing, he was just getting in over his head, that's all."
"Good, he deserves an ego check," Alice cut in, having over heard our conversation.
"I'd say, but I'm tired, gonna head to bed." I yawned, as if to prove my point.
"Nah, I'm still wide awake, see you girls in the morning!" She skipped off as Alice and I made our way to our dormitories.
Lying in bed I sighed, finally a chance to relax and sleep. And of course, because I am who I am, sleep I would, but relax? Nope. As soon as my eyes closed, dreams filed in. Images, feelings, emotions, memories, every last one horrible and cold. It felt like a dementor had intruded my dreams. (Which, I later discover, is possible, but is not what happened to me)
I woke, thankfully I woke. I woke to the faces of the others in my room, Rose, Alice, Lucy, and Myra. "Bethany?" Rose, looking scared, asked timidly. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah, you were thrashing and screaming..it was rather frightening actually," Alice added in.
"Oh..sorry to wake you.." I mumbled. It took a while, but I finally managed to get the girls back into bed and soon I heard their deep breathing meaning they were asleep. Then it took another while for me to to calm my thoughts, which still were racing through my dream. By the time I did and was ready to close my eyes I felt something small and light land on my nose. Opening my eyes, I found an enchanted paper airplane.
"Oh what now?!" I groaned under my breath. Unfolding the airplane I saw the writing, Meet me outside the great hall, N-O-W. --S
I got up, still wearing my turtle pajamas and shuffled my way to the great hall. Scorpius was standing there. "You better have one heck of a reason for dragging me down here Malfoy.." Okay, so I'm not the nicest person when I'm tired.
It wasn't until then that I noticed how pale Scorpius was. "I do, Bethany..."
"Scorp?" A hint of fear was edging in.
"We need to talk Bethany. About something you might like to forget...."
I felt the color drain from face, I knew where he was going with it.
"Do you remember those two men in the suits last year? Right before Bellatrix...." He trailed off.
"Yes," I responded curtly.
"Well, I've kept in touch with them, regarding how to stop Bellatrix...and, well, Bethany you see we came up with a plan...that well.."
"What is it Scorpius? Spit it out. It can't be worse than what I went through last year."
He bit his lip, not meeting my eyes, "Bethany, it is though. It is so much worse..."
My heart sank, this was not going the way I thought it was. First day at Hogwarts and I could tell it was already about to become Hell.
oooh you are sooo mean! hahaha i have GOT to know what happens next! grrr for camp haha i love scorpius and bethany! have fun at camp and keep up the good work! PAMS
"Scorpius what is it? What is the plan?" I asked, trying to conceal the tremor.
He bit his lip and stared at his feet. Finally he said quickly, "You need to accept Bellatrix and her offer to work with her. You still have the trace on you, as soon as you use magic with her we can find her. A thousand things could go wrong and I told them that it was a bad idea and that you wouldn't want to do it but it was the only thing we could think of and if you doan't want to do it i completely undedrstand and we could find someother wa-"
"I'll do it," I cut him off.
"What?" He looked astonished.
"My life now that I am visible, is great. But if I close my eyes or try to sleep she comes pops up, her and the things she has done. I am tired all the time and I always wake screaming. I'm sick of it, Scorp. I won't be able to live my life while she is still out here. If I can help at all than I will." My voice grew quieter, my eyes moister. I was a tired fourteen year old girl. when you add the teenage girl emotions to no sleep ever to the idea of having to face your nightmare again in real life, you get a crying Bethany Stone.
And that's what I did, I sat and sobbed quietly. My head between my knees and my hand hugging my legs, I let the tears fall. "I'm sick of being afraid Scorpius. I need to do it..I need to.."
I felt his arms go around me, "Okay..It's okay.." he murmured.
Finally I calmed down enough to talk, "I.. I need to get some sleep. Bad day, hoping for a better day tomorrow."
"Okay.." he released his grip on me. "Get a good few hours of sleep, okay? I can't promise tomorrow will be that great a day."
I nodded and stood, "If anyone saw and asks, I came out for air after a bad dream."
He raised one eyebrow, "And how true is that?"
As I began to walk away I answered, "True enough for it to not count as a full lie, and all the girls in the dormitory will back it up."
"Scorpius what is it? What is the plan?" I asked, trying to conceal the tremor in my voice.
He bit his lip and stared at his feet. Finally he said quickly, "You need to accept Bellatrix and her offer to work with her. As I began to walk away I answered, "True enough for it to not count as a full lie, and all the girls in the dormitory will back it up."
I made it back to bed and slept. Well, meaning I closed my eyes and seemingly the next second I was being shaken awake by Rose. "Come on Bethany, we're going to miss breakfast."
Groaning I rolled out of bed. After changing and waking up, I followed Rose down to breakfast where I ate in silence, my eyes barely open. "Bethany, are you listening? We're going to be late for Divination, let's go!"
Then I was being dragged up to Divination with the rest of our class. The day went through slowly, but I was excited when James came up and told me that because his star seeker graduated I was a shoe-in for it and that try-outs would be at the end of the month. I saw Scorpius a few times but we never mentioned what happened the night before.
"How's Beth doing?" Scorpius asked me during dinner when he slid into a seat next to mine at the table.
"You came to our table just so you could ask me how my little sister was doing?"
"What? Am I not allowed to inquire about the health of your family?" He gave me an innocent look.
"You are allowed, but you never wondered before so I want to know what your alternate motive is." I turned so I could see him better.
"Okay, you caught me." He held up his hands in defeat. "I need to show you something."
"OH do you?" I felt someone nudging me on my other side, I looked . Rose winked at me and gave me a thumbs up. I rolled my eyes at her.
"Why yes I do, the fate of all man kind could be dependant on this." He was still smiling broadly at me.
"Well in that case, I guess I'll have to go." Accepting his hand he led me down hall where I saw a door that I never knew existed.
"Close your eyes," he ordered.
Sighing I did as I was told. He led me through the door way. "Welcome to the Room of Requirements. And happy two day late birthday.."
Opening my eyes I saw the room was decorated with streamers and banners and a table filled with various foods and a big birthday cake in the center reading "Happy Fourteenth Invisible Girl!" There was also a smaller table set for two that had to mugs of Hot Chocolate by the plates.
I whirled on Scorpius then hugged him tightly, "You, Scorpius Orion Malfoy, are the most amazing best friend I could ask for."
"Don't I know it?" He responded egotistically.
"Don't push it.."
"Okay, now come on time to eat!" He pulled me to the table and filled my plate with many foods and his with more ("Because I need more to keep my ego fed").
"This is amazing Scorpius...despite the two days late part, it's perfect." I smiled at him across the table.
His face fell, "Despite the two day late part? Would you have preferred if I just appeared at your house in the middle of your family celebration?"
Considering this, I shrugged, "Considering my parents were crying almost the whole time...yes."
He sat in a broody silence until he noticed my smirk and we started laughing.
Once we finished eating he asked, "So, are you ready for presents? Well...more like present. And it doesn't matter if you are or not because I already have it out."
He handed me a small rectangular box wrapped in silver paper with a golden bow on top.
"Scorpius, you didn't have to get me a gift..I mean, this was enough.." I gestured around the whole room in general.
"Well you see, don't go thinking that I did much for this room, this room did it its self, all I had to do was bring you to it, so I really did have to get you this."
Shaking my head I opened the box. Inside was a hear shaped locket, beautiful with a violet-blue gem embedded in the heart. I opened it, inside was a picture of myself and Scorpius, taken over the summer at my house. He had his arm slung around my shoulder and was smirking his smirk with a mischievous gleam in his eyes while I was nearly doubled over laughing. Of course it was magical so I could see myself elbowing him and him just smirking more while saying something that made me laugh.
I gasped, "Scorpius! This is...this is wonderful! It's perfect. It's simply perfect."
Scorpius, who seemed to be very relieved at my reaction, asked cockily, "Glad I did it now?"
"Yes..yes I am." He came around and helped me put the locket on.
Then I turned and faced him. My heart thumping I told him, "I have something for you too."
He looked confused and before I could lose my nerve I kissed him.
Right then and there. I shocked myself and I sure as heck shocked him. But I was more shocked when I realized he was kissing me back.
We pulled apart slightly breathless. "Wow.." we both said at once.
"This will...complicate things.." I said, slightly disoriented.
"I don't think so, it just made my life a whole lot better." He kissed me again.
I smiled at him, "Best birthday party ever."

That night I returned to the common room in a delighted daze. I arrived to discover that Rose had waited up for me. "Soooo?????" Was the first thing she asked when I entered through the portrait.
" 'soooo' what?" I responded trying to conceal my smile and failing,
"My word! He kissed you, didn't he? You two totaly kissed!"
"Well...I kind of kissed him, but he kissed back and it amazing..." I let my smile show through.
"EEEP! I knew it! You two are so cute together! And O My Word that locket. Did he give you that?" She stared at the locket that now swung on my neck.
"Yes" I smiled even wider still, I would never get out of that daze, or so I thought.
"Bethany! This is great! You two are going to be the 'it couple'!"
"Good night Rose, enjoy your fantasies." flopping on my bed and closing the curtains I just let myself take in the wonders of this amazing day.
"Maybe this year wont be so bad after all," I whispered into the night.
Hooray! more! that was possibly the cutest surprise party ever! and the locket! i am so jealous! (well, in a not-so-obsessed-with-Scorpius way). very excited you posted more! and yay, i am FIRST!
