Another Rare Person Who Could Make Snape Smile... - Sa16+
You can quote, disagree with, glorify or vilify me But about the only thing you can't do is ignore me
Disclaimer: HP ain't mine. The Character's aren't either, except Secret. If they were, well I wouldn't be sitting here writing fan-fics. Nahh, they belong to JKR
Hiya, I have no idea which fan fic I'm on. This about a young girl called Secret. She was raised by and believed her father was Snape. Hope you enjoy
The moonlight shone down on the street, illuminating all in its path, bathing objects in a light, silvery glow. The looming building of the orphanage stood, a solid mass amongst the rubbish.
At first, you would not suspect anything different. It looked ordinary enough. A small bundle of bins huddled together in a corner, along with the lingering smell of the curry takeaway. The only thing that might strike you as unusual was the odd stench of what could be classed as gunpowder, and the chilling cold, which seemed to suck the happiness out of you. A tabby cat, with peculiar markings around the eyes, was prowling round, as if on the lookout for something.
Or someone.
Slowly, but surely, a small revving of a baby’s cry started, a lost, lonely wail shattering the silence. The cat’s ears pricked up, turning in the direction of the noise. It seemed to be coming from the dustbins.
It padded over, it’s soft paws making no noise, and gently slunk into the middle. It gave a small ‘meow’ and the infant stopped.
The child couldn’t have been more than one, a small baby, with two grey eyes and a layer of reddish hair already upon it’s skull.
The cat blinked, and suddenly, where it had sat, stood a tall woman, her face boring the many years of her life. Her grey hair was pulled into a tight bun, hidden under an emerald pointed hat, the exact shade of the long cloak she wore over her matching robes. She reached down and picked the infant up, who felt icy cold in her arms. Conjuring a black blanket out of thin air, she wrapped the child in it.
Suddenly, a street lamp went out, closely followed by another. While most people would have been fazed, even possibly scared, the woman marched confidently towards the elderly man, who seemed to be putting what looked like a silver lighter away.
‘Good evening Professor McGonagall. Or should I say, good morning?’ he chuckled, indicating the tall clock, which proudly proclaimed it to be half past one in the morning. ‘Sherbet Lemon?’
‘I am quite certain that I do not want a sherbet lemon Albus.’ She declined for the second time they had met under the velvet sky.
He gave a sad chuckle, and placed the back away. ‘So, here we are with another lost child.’
‘Is it true then?’ she whispered. ‘Did he really betray them?’
‘You are holding the proof my dear Minerva.’ He said gently.
She looked down at the child, who was staring at Albus with some interest.
‘So, here we have little Secret.’ He said, taking the child off her.
‘Where will she go Albus?’ asked McGonagall. ‘Surely not here?’
She indicated the bleak Orphanage.
‘No. I think I know exactly where to take her. I know just the man.’ Said Dumbledore softly.
‘Surely not him? Albus, he was one of his most trusted – she could be in so much danger if he – do you honestly trust him?’
‘I would trust him with my life. And he is gone. She has nothing to fear.’ Reassured Dumbledore firmly.
With that, he swept off towards a small street. A dirty, worn sign told them humbly they were on Spinner’s End.
Stopping outside a door, Albus raised a fist and knocked on the door. For a while, they stood in silence.
Then, the door opened. A man stood there, his sallow faced curtained by his hair.
‘Albus, Minerva. What brings you here?’
He then saw Secret, who had fallen asleep. His eyes widened, and he stood back to let them in.
They entered a dark room. Snape motioned for them to sit on the sofa, himself taking the armchair up. His eyes never left the girl.
‘So, as you might have guessed Severus, Lily and James were betrayed. During these events, Secret has lost both her parents and her brother.’ Said Dumbledore.
Snape nodded slowly, his gaze still transfixed on Secret.
‘So that leaves her with no where to go.’
Dumbledore nodded. ‘Yes Severus.’
‘I’ll take her.’ McGonagall looked shocked for a moment, but quickly recomposed herself.
Albus stood up and handed the infant over. ‘Take good care of her Severus.’
He nodded, and watched the two leave. On his windowsill a crow stood, watching the two. He gave a low caw before flying off, leaving Snape holding the child whom he had just sworn to protect.

Secret Snape sat in the living room of her house. She was 5 years old now and was already a budding potion master. She added some Salamander Blood to her Strengthening Solution.
'There we go Secret. Now, we leave this to mature over the weekend.' said her father, Severus.
'Did I do it right Daddy?' she asked.
'Perfectly, better then some of my fifth years.' Snape said, placing it on a cabinet.
He came back over and picked her up. She looked up into his face, with that small smile that always made him smile back. He sat down on the sofa, pulled his wand out, and made bubbles come out the end, a favourite game of theirs. Secret ran round trying to catch them.
'When do I get a wand?' she asked out the blue.
Snape chuckled.
'When you turn eleven.' he replied.
'But that's ages away!' she said in frustration.
She stuck her tongue out. Snape laughed and stuck his out back at her. She giggled and ran round, distracted by the bubbles again.
'IT'S HERE!'
Secret ran to the window, to see a Midnight, the black owl, fly towards them. She was 11, and her letter was due any day now. It stuck it's leg out and Secret gently untied the letter from it. Midnight nibbled her fingers affectionately and took off.
'Daddy! It's here!'
Snape looked up from his newspaper, smiling.
'So it is.' he said gently.
'I'm going to Hogwarts!' she shouted, dancing round the room.
Bellatrix, who was here on a visit, popped her head into the room.
'Ahhh, is she off to Hogwarts? Hope you're in SLytherin!' she said, dancing with her.
'Don't put any pressure on her Bella.' said Snape.
Secret ripped her letter open. She pulled it out and read it.
'Aw, we can't have brooms!' she complained.
'I know, it's so unfair.' said Snape, rolling his eyes and going back to his newspaper.
Secret climbed up and sat on his knee.
'Daddy...' she said.
'No.' said Snape.
'But, you're a Professor...'
'...And it's up to your head of house.'
'But you're my head of house!'
'Should you been in Slytherin.'
'But Draco told me that you'll be in the same house as your parents! And you're my Daddy, and you were in SLytherin, so I'll be in it!'
Snape stiffened at this, and exchanged glances with Bellatrix. Bella picked her up.
'Not always. My cousin, Sirius Black. Our whole family was in Slytherin, but he was a Gryffindor.' she said, sitting down on the sofa.
Snape looked on, fear inside. He knew exactly which house she would be in.
'What are we going to do?" he asked, once Secret was asleep on his lap that evening.
He had his arms wrapped round her, like she was 5 again. Bellatrix chewed her bottom lip.
'I don't know. She's get put in Gryffindor, I know it! She has all the traits of her parents.' she whispered.
Snape sighed. He knew she would. She was so much like her father, yet had the softness and gentleness of her mother. He leant back, stroking Secret's hair, wondering what to do.

'Daddy, I can go to Diagon Alley on my own!'
Secret looked at Snape, her arms crossed. Snape couldn't help bursting out laughing, she looked so much like her mother.
'I want you to go with Lucius.' he said.
'Do I have to go with Uncle Lucius?'
'Yes. Now, here's some money. Try and save some for your things instead of sweets.'
Snape pressed a bag into her hand.
'Okay. Can i have one ice cream?' she asked.
'Oh ok.' said Snape.
Secret hugged Snape.
'Thank you.' she whispered.
He gave her a hug back and she let go.
'Bye Daddy!' she called as Lucius came and collected her.
'Hi Draco.' she said.
'Hey Secret.' he said.
They headed into Madam Malkins.
'Ooo, first years? Let's get this little lady sorted out first.' said a kindly woman.
She fitted Secret's robes, and then she stood as Draco was fitted. A boy came in, with black messy hair. He got up on a stool.
'Hi! I'm Secret! What's your name?' she asked.
'Harry Potter.' he said.
'Cool.' She said, registering the scar.
It didn't bother her. He was just another kid. Just because he had survived a curse didn't mean much to her.
She hoped off the stool, and paid for the robes.
'Thank you.' she said.
'You're welcome dearie.' Madam said.
Secret hopped out the shops.
'Meet us at Flourish and Bolts!' Lucius called.
''Okay!'
She skipped along to get her potions things and almost everything else. She almost crashed into Harry in the street on the way to Eeylops Owl Emporium.
'Oh, hello again Harry!' she said.
'Hi Secret.' he said.
He held a cadge which contained a snowy owl.
'She's beautiful.' said Secret.
She stood up.
'See you at Hogwarts I guess.' she said.
'Yeah.' he said
She went in, and looked round. Her eyes rested on a Golden Masked Owl, and she instantly fell in love.
'That's Zelta.' said the woman, coming over. 'He's a boy. His name is Golden in Latvian.'
'I love him. I want him.' she said in a whisper.
Zelta gave her fingers an affectionate nibble. The woman chuckled and took his cadge off the wall. Secret handed over her money and took his cadge.
'Thank you.' she said
'you've got the best manners of any eleven year old I've come across.' she said as Secret went out the door.
She went to Flourish and Bolts.
'Ah, Secret! Have you got a wand yet?' asked Lucius.
Secret shook her head.
'Then let's get that.'
They headed to Ollivanders. Secret opened the door. A man came suddenly out of the darkness.
'Ahh, I wonder how long before I would see you.' he said.
She gave a shiver.
'It seemed only yesterday your father was in here. 11' inch, oak, unicorn tail hair. Your mother on the other hand, had a 12' inch yew wand, with dragon heartstring. Yes, they both had powerful wands...'
She tried about 5 different wands. Then the man took one out.
'I wonder. Try this one. 13' Inch, cherry wood, phoenix tail.'
She took it, and a warmth ran through her fingers. She pointed it in the air, and a burst of sparks, red, green, gold, blue and lots of other colours came out.
'Oh well done! Very interesting...'
'What is?' she asked.
'Your wand, had a brother. And what is interesting, was that brother wand, was the one that killed your mother.'
Secret drew breath. She paid for her wand and zoomed out the shop.
'Finished?' asked Lucius.
'Yes Uncle.' she said.
They went stayed around until it got dark then they went home. Snape looked up as they walked him.
'Secret!' he exclaimed, rushing over.
'Daddy!' she said, wiggling in his hug.
'Calm down Severus.' said Lucius.
'Where were you? It's been hours! I was worried.'
'With Uncle Lucius!'
'Thank god you're okay.'
'See you Uncle.' Secret called as Lucius left.
Secret sat on the sofa, twirling her wand in her fingers. She pointed it at a book on the table. She concentrated, and it lifted into the air. She had heard her dad use the spell so many times.
'Now now, we do't use magic outside of school.' said Snape.
'You do!' she protested.
'I don't have the trace.' he replied.
'How do I get rid of mine?'
'It breaks when you're 18.'
'Aw, come on!'
Snape chuckled, sitting next to her and gently pulling her onto his lap. She snuggled into him.
'What is your owl called?' he whispered.
'Zelta. It's Latin for Golden, because he's a Golden Masked Owl.' she said.
'So he is.' he murmured.
Secret slowly shut her eyes, and slipped asleep.
I really like this. Totally agree with Jessiqua, it's nice seeing a diff side of Snape. Although, I do wonder who her parents are. Though I have an idea she may have a nice, messy-haired, famous twin.... but idk. Anyways, great job!
'Ok, a hat is reading my mind, am i meant to be freaked out?'

Haha, thanks!
Soon Secret was standing on Platform 9 and three quarters.
'Write when you get there.' whisperer Bellatrix as she hugged Secret.
'Bella...' she started, 'What if i am put in Gryffindor?'
It was the fear of the last moment that caused her to blurt this out.Bellatrix placed her hands on Secret's shoulders.
'Secret Snape.' she said. 'To me, it doesn't matter where you are placed. I will continue to love you as much as I do now.'
'But Daddy...'
'Will love you just as much, I'm sure of it. Now come on, you're going to be late.'
Secret got on the train, and looked round, but she could only find one carriage, with someone in it.
'Can I sit here? Everywhere else is full?' she asked timidly.
Harry looked back at her.
'Sure.' he said.
'Hi again.' she said, sitting opposite him.
'Hi Secret.' he said.
The door opened and ginger boy looked in.
'Can I sit here? Everywhere is full.' he said.
Harry nodded, as did Secret.
'Thanks. Hey, you two aren't brother and sister are you?' he asked.
'No.' she said.
'Oh. You look like each other.' he said. 'Anyway, I'm, Ron, Ron Weasley.'
'Secret, Secret Snape.' she replied.
'Harry, Harry Potter.' he said.
Ron seemed shocked. The door opened and a elderly lady looked in.
'Anything off the trolley m'dears?' she asked.
'Just a chocolate frog please.' said Scarlett.
'I've got sandwiches.' said Ron.
Harry looked at them, then looked back at the lady.
'We'll take the lot!' he said, pulling a large amount of coins out.
'Merlin's Beard.' Secret said.
Soon they were eating happily.
'I was mean to be on a diet, but who cares!' Secret said as she unwrapped a cauldron cake.
Ron was struggling to open his. Secret flicked her hand and it unwrapped itself. He stared at her.
'Do that again.' He said.
'Why, do you want another one?' she asked.
'No, umm, unlocked your owls cadge.' he said.
She snapped her fingers, and it opened, allowing Zelta to fly free. Hedwig clicked disdainfully from her cadge.
'That's really advanced magic.' he said.
Soon, Secret found herself waiting to be sorted. She nibbled his fingernails.
'Secret Snape!' McGonagall called out.
Secret walked up to the stool. She glanced at her father, who smiled encouragingly at her. She sat down, and the hat was placed on her head, falling over her eyes.
'Stupid hat's too big.' she thought.
'I'm smarter than you think.' said a small voice in her ear.
'Ok, a hat is reading my mind, am i meant to be freaked out?'
'Hmm, I can see greatness in you. You posses the mind of Ravenclaw, the cunningness and gift of Slytherin, the bravery of Gryfindor, and the Loyalty of Hufflepuff. You are very difficult to sort. You posses the qualities to rival the founders. Yet, i see a gentleness in your heart, and the qualities your mother and father had, and I think you belong in...'
'GRYFFINDOR!'
Secret took the hat off and went to sit down at the clapping table. she didn't look at her father. She was ashamed. After the feats, she went outside.
'Miss Snape!'
She turned round to see Snape walking towards her. He waited until everyone was gone.
'Daddy, I'm sorry, I really am...' she began.
'Hey.' he said, cupping her chin. 'It doesn't matter what house you're in, you're still my little girl.'
She smiled.
'Now go to bed, you've got a long day ahead of you tomorrow.' he said, giving her a hug.
She smiled and hopped off to the common room, her heart higher than it had been before.
'...if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.'
You can quote, disagree with, glorify or vilify me But about the only thing you can't do is ignore me
'You are here to learn the subtle science and exact art of potion making... I don't expect you will really understand the beauty of the softly simmering cauldron with its shimmering fumes, the delicate power of liquids that creep through human veins, bewitching the mind, ensnaring the senses ... I can teach you how to bottle fame, brew glory, even stopper death... if you aren't as big a bunch of dunderheads as I usually have to teach.'
'Cheers.' Secret muttered to Harry.
Friday. Potions, double period. Then free afternoon. It wasn't surprising how Friday was Secret's favourite day of the week. After potions she speant time with her father.
'Register.' said Snape, sweeping over.
He went through the register, and paused at Harry's name.
'Mr Potter.' he said, a hint of disgust in his voice
'Yes Sir.' Harry said.
He continued, in his low, bitter voice, that Secret had never heard when she was around and paused again at Secret's name.
'Miss Snape.' he said, his voice softer, kinder and more familiar.
'Yes D- Sir.' she said, forcing herself to say the word.
That was going to take some getting used to. He finished and swept over to the board.
'These...' he said, flicking his wrist, '... are the instructions. You have all double period. Begin.'
She looked at the board. A Boil Cure Potion. Secret almost laughed at this. She was making this at three! She got her ingredients and started to make it. Halfway through Snape swept over. He rested a hand on her shoulder.
'You okay?' he asked softly.
'Yeah, fine.' she replied.
He gave a smile and went to go bother Draco.
Hey great going! I love it so far! It's really good.
Secret sounds like quite the interesting eclectic girl. I can't wait to read more!
And I totally agree with her that it would be hard to stop calling Snape daddy.
-Rachel
'Shut up brain, you haven't interrupted so far so don't start now.'
You can quote, disagree with, glorify or vilify me But about the only thing you can't do is ignore me
Thanks guys! Sorry I haven't been posting, I've had exams and everything!
A loud hissing suddenly filled the rom, along with acid-green smoke. Covering her mouth with her robe, Secret looked over to see Neville Longbottom's cauldron was a melted twist, and was currently seeping all over the dungeon floor, burning holes in people's shoes. Secret gave a squeal and pulled her trainers up off the floor.
'Idiot boy!' snarled Snape. 'I suppose you added the porcupine quills before taking it off the fire?'
Neville whimpered from the floor as boils erupted on his face.
'Take him to the hospital wing.' Snape shot at Seamus.
He then rounded on Harry. Secret had never seen her father like this. The bell rang over their heads, and instead of waiting behind like she would normally do, she fled the dungeons. She was hurt, and shocked. She skipped lunch and just went to sit in the common room, staring into the fire. This wasn't the Snape she knew. This cold, hurtful Snape was nothing like the warm, caring Snape she knew to be her dad. She didn't know how long she spent staring into the flames as they danced in the grate. Before too long, she begrudging made her way down to dinner. He stomach growled at her, annoyed it hadn't had anything to eat since this morning. Entering the Main Hall, she worked her way to her seat and toyed with her shepherds pie.
'You okay?' asked a red haired third-year.
'Yeah, you look upset.' said his twin.
'I'm fine.' she said.
'Don't think we've been introduced. I'm Fred Weasley.' said one, shaking her hand.
'And I'm George Weasley.' said his twin, also shaking her hand.
'Nice to meet you. I'm Secret Snape.' she said, smiling.
'Snape? No wonder you were upset.' said Fred.
'Yeah, having Snape as a father is enough to make anyone cry.' chipped in George.
'Ha Ha, that's not why I'm upset. And I'm not upset!' she insisted.
'Yeah yeah, whatever you say. Wanna come set off dung-bombs in the corridor to annoy Filch?' asked Fred. 'Or does the little first year not want to get in trouble?'
'Oh shut, let's go do it!' Secret said.
Fred smiled and took hold of her hand, and they raced off to the corridor.
'Wait for it. Here comes Filch.' said George, holding a handful of Dung-Bombs.
'Al you do is throw them, and then run.' said Fred under his breath.
'Now!' whispered George.
All three chucked the things, then ran as a loud bang was heard and a horrible oder filled the corridor.
'Weasley!' yelled Filch.
'I take it since he automatically accuses you, this isn't the first time you've caused mayhem?' asked Secret.
'What ever gave you that impression?' replied George innocently.
The turned a corner and crashed into none other than Snape. Filch came panting round the corner.
'You two Weasleys are the bane of my life! And now you're staring to lead the first-year's astray!' he raved, noticing Secret.
'We could be here a while.' muttered Fred.
'I tell you...'
After ranting on for about an hour, he gave all three detentions.
'Bat Droppings.' muttered Secret.
'Mr and Mr Weasley back to your common rooms. Miss Snape, come with me.' said Snape in a low voice.
'Now I'm for it. See you guys!' Secret called to the twins.
'See ya Secret!'
She followed her father all the way to his office, where she sat on the chair the opposite side of his desk.
'Right, what are you gonna do to me? Make me scrub out the caldrons? Sort the store cubored?' she asked.
'Nothing. I wanted to talk to you. You didn't stay behind after potions.' said Snape, resuming his softer voice.
'I was hungry.'
'Professor McGonagall reported that you didn't turn up at lunch.'
'I got there and thought that I wasn't that hungry.'
'Then why didn't you come back?'
Secret was silent at this point.
'Secret?' Snape persisted.
'I-I-I had homework.' she lied.
'You could of still come. I would of helped.' Snape replied. 'But that's not it.'
He got up and swept round, kneeling down on one knee, so he was level with her.
'What's really up?'
'Nothing.' she replied stubbornly.
'Secret...'
'I'm fine!'
He sighed, and stood up.
'I can't make you talk. Well, I can, but I'm not going to use Veritasium on my own child. You may go. And stay away from those twins!' he said, sitting back behind his desk.
Secret left the dungeons, heading back to the common room.
'Secret!'
She looked to see the twins.
'What did he do to you?' asked George.
'Told me to stay away from you two.'
Oh.' said Fred, his face falling. 'Are you?'
'Like hell!' she replied.
They grinned, and talked about what to do next.
'Well we were thinking about going to Hogsmead tomorrow.' said Fred. 'Wanna join us?'
'But I'm not allowed.' said Secret. 'And I don't think there's a trip tomorrow.'
'No there isn't.' said George. 'But we know another way.'
Next day, they were creeping along a dark passage.
'Have you ever done this before?' Secret asked.
'No, this is our first time. You mist be leading us astray.' said Fred seriously, then saw Secret's face by his wand light. 'Joking, we've done it countless times.'
They reached the trap door, and gently pushed it up.
'Are you sure you can cast the charm?' asked Fred.
'Yes, I've done it before.' said Secret.
She reached up and tapped Fred on the head with her wand. He gave a shudder, and disappeared.
'Bloody hell. That's one powerful charm.' said George, looking at the spot where his brother had been moments ago.
'Why, am I invisible?' asked the voice of Fred.
'Yeah, totally!'
'Okay, Secret, I'm going to hold your hand. Cast the charm on George. Then George, hold Secret's arm as she casts it on herself. The take hold of her hand, so we don't get lost.'
She cast it on George, then felt a pressure on her arm as she cast it herself. The pressure moved down to her hand and they all made their way up to the shop.
'This is totally weird.' whispered Fred.
They emerged in Honeydukes, and held themselves to sweets, then made their way to Zonko's.
'Awesome.' whispered Secret, as they entered.
'They loaded up on dung-bombs, and other things, and soon were back in the tunnel, heading back to school.
'Where's everyone?' asked George, once they were back behind the statue.
'I dunno. Let me check.' said Fred, pulling some parchment out. 'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good.'
He tapped the parchment with his wand, and ink began to spread, as if an invisible hand were writing on it. Before Secret could read the front, Fred had whipped it open.
'All clear.' he muttered.
They slipped out from behind the statue, and headed back to the common room.
'What's that?' asked Secret.
'The Marauder's Map.' said Fred, showing her it.
She looked at it, and was amazed.
'I can see father moving!' she said.
'Indeed.' said George, as Fred folded it up and placed it back in his pocket.
'Caput Draconis' Said Secret to the Fat Lady.
She swung forward and they clambered into the common room.
'Secret!' said Hermione, rushing over. 'Professor Snape was looking for you.'
'Was he?!' exclaimed Secret. 'Oh sugar, I better go find him!'
She emerged out the Portrait hole again and raced down the halls.
'No running in the corridors!' ranted Filch as she shot past.
'Oh shut up, you mad old trout!'
'You what!' he yelled.
She was hurrying down the stairs by this time, and bumped into Snape.
'Woah!' he said, catching her before she went flying backwards.
'Heard you were looking for me.' said Secret.
'I was. Where were you today?' asked Snape.
'Library.' said Secret.
'I looked there.'
'Oh god, think of something quick...' she thought.
'I was in the kitchens!' she said.
'Oh brilliant Secret, well done... shut up brain, you haven't interrupted so far so don't start now.'
'Were you now?' asked Snape.
'Yeah.' she said.
'And you know that students are not allowed into the kitchens?' asked Snape.
'Well no one told me that.' she replied.
'Be off with you.' said Snape.
She raced back to the common room, relieved.
Fantastic post!
Really funny. I can tell she's gonna be good friends with the twins. Can't wait for more mischief from the three.
Snape is definitely going to have his hands full with her.
-Rachel

'When can we do something like that again?' asked Secret the next day.
Fred chuckled.
'She's got the "bug".' said George. 'Now you've had a taste of mischief, you want more. It's like a craving, an addiction.'
'Is not.' Secret said stubbornly.
Truth be told, it was. Secret had spent most of her life being a goody-two shoes daddy's girl. Now she was changing, like she saw how much Snape did here.
'Well, we were thinking about charming Quirrell's wand.'
'Sounds good to me!'
Later, the three snuck to Quirrell's office, and saw it was empty, yet he had left his wand on his desk. Fred snuck in and rubbed some ointment on the wand, the scrambled out.
'What was that you rubbed on it?' Secret whispered.
'A little special ointment I made.' said Fred.
'Shh!'
Quirrell came round the corner and walked into his office. He picked his wand up an pointed it at a raven in a cadge. Instead of doing the required spell, it started to whack Quirrell round the back of the head.
'Ow! Ow!' he shouted, trying to runaway from his wand round the room.
The three burst out laughing and made a dash for it.
'That was good.' said Secret.
'Your father would not be amused.' said Fred in a posh voice.
'Oh well.' said Secret. 'Listen, I have another idea...'
Moments later, they were standing outside Trelawney's room.
'Enter my children.'
They came in, and found two other students.
'Ahh, a first year? Come to discover the world before your time? I welcome your enthusiasm. Please, let me discover your talents on my on first. Look into this crystal ball, and tell me what you see.'
Secret stared the glass orb, and faces, shapes, started to appear.
'I see a mirror, huge snake, a man with shaggy hair and prison robes, a flaming goblet, an archway with a veil standing alone in the middle of a room, a golden locket and two jets of light, a green and a red, connecting in the middle.' she said.
Trelawney stared at her.
'My dear, you have a gift. You are a Seer.' she whispered.
Secret stared at her, then stood up.
'Okay then.'
Trelawney gazed at her in awe, then seemed to resume her normal self.
'Today class, we will be doing Tessomancy, which is the art of reading tea leaves. So, could you all come up and take a cup.'
It was at this point, Secret switched Trelawney's cup with the nose biting one she had brought in Zonko's.
'Miss? I'd watch your face if i were you. Something is going to happen to it.' called Secret.
'Thank you. Now, I want you to swirl your dregs around like this... ow!'
Trelawney had leapt up and was attempting to wrench the tea cup off her nose. Fred, George, Secret and the other two students burst into laughter.
'Oh that was the best Divination lesson I've ever had.' said George after they left.
'Might be one subject i don't take in the third year.' said Secret.
'But you've got a gift.' said Fred, his eyes gleaming.
'Oh shut up. That old hag wouldn't recognise a gift it it danced in front of her wearing a eagle on it's head.' said Secret as they descended the stair case. 'What I saw was probably a load of nonsense.'
They turned a corner and ran into Snape.
'Oh hello sir!' said Secret cheerfully. 'I keep bumping into you a lot. Castle's smaller than I first thought.'
Snape looked at the twins.
'I thought I told you to stay away from these two.' he said.
'Must of slipped my mind.'
'Come with me.'
Secret followed her father down to his office. Once inside, he stood in front of her, hands on his shoulders.
'Secret, what is going on here? You've been vanishing a lot recently, and trying to avoid me. I mean today, where were you?' he asked, concerned.
'Well, I had to see Quirrell about some homework, and then went to an extra-curriculium divination lesson to see if it was worth taking in my third year.' she replied.
'So it was you three that charmed Quirrell's wand and switched Trelawney's tea-cup!'
'Might of been.'
'Secret! Those two are a bad influence on you! You're changing!'
'Oh, bit like you then!'
Secret finally managed to get out what had been nagging at her for a while now.
'What aren you on about?' asked Snape, still angry, but a little surprised now.
'In potions, around school! I've never seen you so bitter, so horrible! You're not the man I know at home, Sir!'
Snape was silent.
'I have a reputation to uphold.' he said slowly.
'And I have one to make.' said Secret shortly.
'Then make the right one.'
'What as the goody two shoes daughter of Professor Snape? I don't think so!'
'Secret please, I don't want you to make the wrong choices and end up like your...'
He stopped himself.
'My what? Dad, my what!'
'Nothing.' said Snape.
'Dad, tell me!'
She took a good look at him, with his black eyes and black hair, at the man who was her father, yet, looked nothing like her.
'Who's my father?'
Whatever colour that as in Snape's face drained.
'Who is he!'
'No one, I am!'
'For the love of Flying Saucers, tell me!'
'I am, I am your father!'
'You're not! We look nothing alike! And if you won't tell me, I'll find out for myself!'
With that, she stormed out the room, to the owlery.
'Psst! Zelta!'
He hooted at her from his perch.
'I got a letter for you, to take to St Mungo's.'
He flew down and allowed her to attach it to his leg.
'Fly safe.'
He nibbled her finger and took off.
A few days past, and soon Zelta was heading towards her at breakfast.
'Zelt! Have you got my reply?"
He hooted, obviously pleased with himself. She took the letter and he flew off.
'That it?' asked Fred.
'This is it.' said Secret.
She began to open the envelope.
'Thank you Miss Snape.' said Snape, appearing from no where and trying to take it from her.
She held it out his reach.
'If you really were my father, you'd have no problem with me reading it.' she said.
She slit it open and pulled the letter out.
Secret stuffed the little person into her pencil case.
You can quote, disagree with, glorify or vilify me But about the only thing you can't do is ignore me
Secret slowly made her way down to Transfiguration.
'Transfiguration is one of the most difficult branches of magic you will ever face.' said McGonagall as Secret entered. 'Miss Snape you are late.'
'Sorry Miss.' Secret said quietly.
Professor McGonagall looked at her with pity, having been present at the fiasco at breakfast.
'Sit down please.' she said gently.
Secret slid into a place next to Harry, who squeezed her shoulder.
'Sorry about it all.' he whispered.
'Hey, not your fault.' she replied.
'As I was saying, Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts. Anyone messing around in my class will leave and not come back. You have been warned.' said McGonagall.
At this point she turned her desk into a pig and back. Secret gave a small smile.
'You three, watch this.' she muttered.
She tapped her matchstick with her wand, and it turned into a miniature McGonagall, which mimicked the real McGonagall's every move on the desk.
'Oh wow, that's cool.' whispered Ron.
'That's really advanced magic!' whispered Hermione.
'Miss Snape.'
Secret stuffed the little person into her pencil case.
'Might I have a look?'
Reluctantly, Secret placed the little McGonagall into the palm of the real one. The miniature one mirrored the real one's every move as she inspected it, standing on her finger.
'This is really advanced magic Miss Snape. Did your father teach you this?'
'No miss, I taught myself.' replied Secret.
'Hmm, well, i see no point you sitting here while i teach the other's how to turn a matchstick into a a needle. I will inform Dumbledore you are coming. I wish for you to have private lessons. Go.'
Secret packed her things away, and headed to the door. Once at it, she flicked her wrist at the desk, which automatically changed into a pig and then back again. Smiling, she headed up to Dumbledore's office.
Haha! You all thought I was going to reveal Secret's father! Not yet my dears, you'll have to wait and see.
Meanie!
I really wanted to see who her father was!
And now you've got me re-thinking my first guess b/c of Harry's "sorry." If her father was my first guess, I'd have no clue why Harry would be saying sorry.
Meanie....
