Snape and Karkaroff. As simple as that.
We climb the gigantic slope once more, and only stop when we are about three feet from the top. We’d found a tiny cave in the side, and it is perfect for standing in when the two former Death Eaters walk by.
Invisibility cloaks are so much fun.
We sit on rocks around the plateau of the top of the mountain, munching silently on crunchy peanut butter sandwiches. My mouth is kind of dry and I really want some milk, but just as the craving reaches its worst point, I hear muffled steps down below us. I check to make sure my Cloak is covering me well, then slide back up against the wall.
Snape storms by, his cloak swishing behind him menacingly. He glares at the trees and plants and I swear they all die a little as he passes.
Not very long after - in fact, just a few minutes later - Karkaroff follows. Unlike Severus, his walk is timid. He clutches his arm, where the Dark Mark lies, nervously.
We hold our breath and listen.
“It’s getting dangerous, Karkaroff. Even this meeting is risky. Someone could be here now,” Snape’s voice cuts through the night air.
“I highly doubt it,” he replies haughtily. “We’re on a mountain ... not to mention, one hardly ever traveled.”
“I don’t mean Muggles ... The Dark Lord has other ways to find us than we think. He has the power to read into our thoughts without being noticed. Nothing is safe anymore.”
They continue to talk, but before I know what I’m doing, I’m blocking them out. A previous memory surfaces to the top of my head.
“Did you tell Him about me and Janie? That we ... ah ... were together?”
A blasé expression comes over his face. “No, why would I?”
Their conversation ends, and I barely notice as Snape and Karkaroff leave.
Draco didn’t say anything to Voldemort about Janie. Voldemort read into my thoughts ... which means that he could still know about her now.

Oh, no. He needs to get good at Occlumency and fast if he is going to be able to block out Voldy. Great post! I love that they were spying on Snape and Karkaroff.

Alright so Pams chant.... I haven't done one of these since forever.... probably not since Fate (which I did finish reading and OMG) so I might be rusty with the chanting....
1.) Define PAMS
PAMS- A four letter word with all capital letters. I believe it means something along the lines of "Post a message soon!" But PAMS also has a large amount of hidden meaning. I know when I am reading a FF I always end with PAMS unless it just ended.
2.) Define FF
FF stands for Fan Fiction.
3.) Solve this equation. x + FF = PAMS
That has a very simple answer.
x = Caitlin
So in order to PAMS use must need a Caitlin.

Wow guys. *stabs myself* Y'all are awesome! But I have some bad news ... as you may or may not have noticed, I've been swamped. And me being swamped = no posts. So I'm going to need to move this FF to the inactive section until things calm down a bit. That will probably be in about two weeks, until the middle of Spring Break, when I get back from New York. “Did you hear what they said?” Draco asks eagerly, running his sweaty hands through his already tousled hair.
No, of course I didn’t, I think, but if I say that Draco will surely get mad at me.
I sit down and don’t let him say anything. If I know him as well as I think I do, Draco will repeat everything so I don’t have to ask. And, as no surprise to me, he does.
“I can’t believe they’re doing this … How do they seriously think that they can manage to escape the Dark Lord, much less defeat him?” He spits. “They betrayed Him, and now they want to take the knowledge they’d gained and use it against Him. It is disgusting, and we have to do something about it.”
He’s right, of course. Though I don’t always like my job, I do support Voldemort. Sometimes because I have to … but sometimes because I want to. And I know that once you go Death Eater, you don’t go back. It’s all or nothing, but then again it’s not even as simple as that: It’s life or death.
I look at him, urging him to go on. Now I want to know what they said. Janie can’t be thought about right now.
“They’re recruiting, but they didn’t name any names … Karkaroff is not sensible, but Snape is. He knows that their meetings are not the smartest idea, and if word gets out that we’re onto him, he’ll be much more careful with his actions. Of course, I’m sure the Dark Lord already knows that Snape has screwed Him over a second time, but I think it’s better if we tell him anyway …” Draco is ranting. He’s beyond angry.
“What do we have to do next?” I hurriedly ask before his rant turns into a plan of action.
He shoots me a quizzical glare and reaches into his trunk, pulling out the parchment. We’re back in our ‘room,’ which is basically the size of a bathroom in a shack. It’s okay though—less suspicious this way. We need to stay low-key.
He scans the paper several times, then looks at the two of us with an expression of shock. “We’re going swimming—in a waterfall.”
