Hey Jazz, I'm all caught up now. I can't begin to say everything I wanted to remember to tell you, "this was my favorite part" because I kept finding more that I loved as much. I love your story telling skills, and your ability to communicate the story so well to your readers. I feel sorry for Izabella, but I'm glad she went back to Sirius. I'll be watching for your next chapter.

Chapter Twenty-Six – What Are Friends For? 1st September 1978
“Izzy? It's time to wake up.”

Izabella blinked as she rolled over, pushing her hair off her face and rubbing her eyes. Framed by the light spilling into the room, Sirius leant over her, his hair falling across his face as he shook her gently.

“What time is it?” Izabella said groggily.
“Half past nine.”

Izabella sat up and stretched, making room for Sirius to sit beside her.
“I need to go home-”
“Don't worry, Lily went and picked up your school things.”

Izabella nodded slightly and relaxed back into the sofa, letting Sirius wrap his arms around her.

“Are you okay?” he asked quietly, placing a kiss on her forehead.
She swallowed loudly and clenched her teeth.

“I'm going for a shower.” she said in a small voice, peeling herself off the sofa and out of Sirius' arms.

After standing under the hot water, Izabella pulled on a pair of dark jeans and a red blouse from the pile of clothes which Lily had brought her. She ruffled her damp hair and groaned at her reflection; her eyes were red and her skin blotchy. She sighed and made her way downstairs, pulling on a jumper and hugging herself tightly.

“Good morning.” Lily said brightly as Izabella fell into a chair at the kitchen table. James waved his fork at her as he shovelled bacon into his mouth and Sirius gave her a gentle smile from across the table. Izabella thanked Lily as she placed a plate in front of her and began to pick at her toast.

“I ironed your uniform, it's at the top of your trunk along with all of your books and clothes.”

“Thank you Lily, you didn't need to do that.”
“It was my pleasure.” she said quietly, placing a kiss on her best friend's cheek.

An hour later they walked through the station together, casually leaning against the barrier until they were stood before the gleaming Hogwarts Express.

“Izabella!”
With a deep groan, Izabella turned sharply and loaded her trunk onto the train.

“Izabella please!"
“No Severus, I do not want to-”

As she spun around to glare at her brother, she caught sight of the blonde figure walking behind him.

“I mean it. Both of you, leave me alone.” she said in a cold voice.
“Izabella-”

“I think you should go.” Sirius said, moving behind Izabella and placing a hand on the bottom of her back protectively.

“Shut it Black.” Severus spat. Lucius watched Izabella with pleading eyes, gazing at her from across the platform. Izabella sighed and shook her head slightly, turning into Sirius as he wrapped his arms around her tightly.

“I'll see you soon.” he mumbled into her hair as he kissed the top of her hair.
“Thanks Sirius.” she whispered as she reached up to press her lips against his cheek.

“What are friends for eh?” he said with a small smile. For a moment they looked at each other, Sirius' arms still locked around Izabella's waist. Then Izabella nodded and pulled away.

“Right.”
“You're still my best friend.” Sirius said with a wink.

Izabella chuckled and after a final smile, she climbed aboard the train. As a whistle blew, Izabella waved to Lily and James, received a final wink from Sirius and sent a deathly glare towards her brother, trying to avoid Lucius' desperate eyes.

There was a rumble from the train engine and then the faces on the platform became a blur as Izabella left London for her final year at Hogwarts.

OH I'm so excited for her final year What a great chapter, I'm so happy reading that Izabella isn't a pushover. Good for her Can't WAIT for more! And have fun on your holiday

Hey Jazz, I keep checking back to see if you're back yet, and noticed I haven't commented on your last chapter. I'm so sorry! I'm thinking he was wanting to say they could be more than just friends. He needs to give her time to rebound and heal from her pain. Broken hearts are to mend and recover from. Just be patient Sirius. I don't think even Izabella is knowing what's going on with herself right now. Poor thing.

So sorry about the delay with the next chapter! I've been so busy since I got back from Turkey, what with starting college and everything so I have started it now but am going out to a friend's meal later. Hopefully, this weekend I should have it finished and will have it posted as soon as possible!

Chapter Twenty-Seven - To Forgive and Forget? 1st September 1978
Izabella sighed heavily, tapping her foot as she waited for the group of first years to move out of the corridor of the train. She pushed past the excitable children forcefully and pulled back the compartment door.

“Hello,” she said brightly as she stepped inside.
There was a silence in reply as the people inside shifted uncomfortably.

Izabella frowned and placed her bag down on the seat.
“Did everyone have a good summer?” she asked.
“Oh sorry are you talking to us?” said a blonde girl nastily.

“Is there a problem Emily?” Izabella asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Not at all.” Emily snapped.

A shy girl with mousy brown hair smiled gently at Izabella.
“Did you have a good summer?” she asked.
“It was alright thanks Anna.” Izabella replied, still eyeing Emily suspiciously.

“Oh please. We do not want to hear about the Potter's wedding...”
“Leave it Emily.” Anna said quietly.
“What's going on?” Izabella said frowning deeply.
“I said this would happen. The moment Lily and the others left you'd come running back to us.”

“What? I thought we were friends-?”
“I suppose we are. When you need us to be.”
“I don't... What... I'm not like that!”

“Oh whatever Izabella.”

“What's going on?”
Izabella turned sharply and smiled briefly at the sight of Scott.
“Everything alright Izabella?” he asked.

“I wouldn't bother speaking to her Scott,” Emily said. “Unless you're a Black or a Malfoy anyway.”

“Give it a rest Emily. You'd be lucky to have a friend like Izabella, and as we're Head Boy and Girl... I'd watch yourself.” Scott warned in a dark voice. “Come on Iz.”

Izabella grabbed her bag and accepted Scott's outstretched hand gratefully, allowing herself to be led into an empty compartment further down the train. She collapsed into a seat and buried her face in her hands, shifting against Scott as he wrapped his arm around her shoulders.

“Do people really think that about me?” she asked in a small voice.
“No...”

“Scott.” Izabella said, lifting her head to arch an eyebrow at him.
“Well some people say you spend too much time with Lily and Sirius, but it's none of their business.”

Izabella groaned and let her head fall back against the seat.
“Stop worrying. You have me.” he said with a grin. Izabella smiled back and sighed quietly.

The pair sat in a comfortable silence as Izabella watched the countryside pass them by. Her eyes glazed over as she thought about the year ahead of her. Did she really ignore her other friends for Lily? Would Scott be the only person that would speak to her? Why was she regretting that she ignored Lucius after everything that happened?

She chewed her lip thoughtfully, biting it hard enough to draw blood as Scott spoke, making her jump from the noise breaking the silence.

“Is that an owl?” he said as he stood up to open the window. A small, graceful owl flew into the train and landed on Izabella's leg.

Expecting Sirius' messy scrawl, she was surprised to see the elegant hand that graced the front of the envelope. Trying to ignore the jolt in her stomach she took the note and read it quickly.

Izabella,
Please read this and please forgive me.
It's difficult for me, my father and many other have certain expectations that I have to meet. Please, I beg you, meet me so I can explain in person. I can't not have you in my life.
You know how I feel about you. I know you can feel the same.
If you can't forgive me at least talk to your brother. He cares about you so much. He's a wreck without you.

Izabella chewed her fingers for a while before grabbing a piece of parchment and a quill from her bag.

I want to forgive you Lucius, I really do... But I don't know. It just doesn't seem right...

She sighed and handed it to the owl. From across the top of his book, Scott smiled at her gently. She returned the gesture and he continued with his reading. Izabella bit her fingers nervously, her stomach churning until the little owl flew back.

Izabella smiled briefly, folded up the parchment and tucked it into a pocket in her school bag. She sighed, leant back in her seat and watched out of the window as they moved on towards Hogsmede station.

Hey Jazz, I think you did excellent with this chapter. It's a shame the way the world turns for some people. The sad thing is, I sort of go along with them. I wouldn't be a snob, but it is hurtful to go back to hanging with a crowd after your other favorites are gone. She was innocent of her doing that though because she didn't realize she overlooked them. Scott's a good guy. Every girl needs a friend like Scott. Little does he know.

Sorry about the wait, I've had so much work from college and I've only been there for a week! But I am working on it now and should have it up by tonight!

Chapter Twenty-Eight - Warnings 1st September 1978
“Izabella!”

Izabella turned and spotted a shock of bleach blonde hair bobbing towards her through the crowds of students. The short figure stopped in front of her and beamed.

“Hi! I didn't see you on the train.”
“Sorry Ruby, I was with Scott.”

“Oooh,” Ruby teased, raising her eyebrows suggestively at Izabella.
“Oh shut up.” Izabella said rolling her eyes.

“Sorry I forgot, it's all about Mister Malfoy now isn't it?”
Izabella shrugged a little and glanced down at the floor.

“What happened?” Ruby demanded with a large intake of breath, leaning forward as her eyes glinted. Izabella chuckled quietly.
“I'll tell you later.”

“Oh! I almost forgot, Professor Dumbledore wants to see you.”
“Thanks Ruby, I'll see you in the common room.”
“Okay, bye!” the petite blonde called over her shoulder as she rushed off to join a group of fellow Slytherins.

Izabella smiled after her for a moment; Ruby was one of the few girls she had remained close to from her year. She also didn't mind when Izabella spent time with Lily.

She turned around and started to weave in between the hoards of students, back towards the direction of Dumbledore's office.

The gargoyle was expecting her, allowing her to pass without the password. She smiled politely at the stone figure then stood on the large step as the staircase turned, coming to a halt just in front the griffin-shaped knocker. Izabella lifted a hand and knocked once, stepping into the room as the door swung open.

“Ah, Miss Prince. Take a seat.”
“Evening Professor Dumbledore.” she said with a wide smile as she took a seat beside Scott.

“Well firstly, congratulations on getting Head Boy and Girl. I hope you'll do a fantastic job.” Dumbledore said, surveying the pair of them over his half-moon spectacles. “You will also be given access to all Houses and I know you won't abuse the privilege.”

Izabella and Scott nodded seriously.
“I'm sure you're aware of your duties, Professor McGonagall will explain more tomorrow if you have any questions. But it's late, time for bed I think.”
Dumbledore smiled.

Izabella and Scott stood up and pushed their chair back.
“Just one moment Miss Prince, Mr Peever you may go.”

“I'll see you tomorrow Iz.” Scott said, smiling at her then nodding his head respectfully at Dumbledore.
Izabella lowered herself back into her chair and waited patiently for Dumbledore to speak.

“I hear you had a rather eventful summer Miss Prince.”
Izabella's cheeks flushed a light pink and she shrugged her shoulders a little.
“I suppose you could say that.” she said quietly.

“I believe Lily explained to you about a certain group of people-”
“Death Eaters? Yeah I know all about it.” said Izabella in a stony voice.
“Did they tell you about the Order of the Phoenix?”
“No they didn't get to that part.”

“Very well. I have set up a group of people who are fighting Voldemort-”
“I want to join.”

“I'm sorry Izabella, I couldn't allow that. You are still at school.” Dumbledore said gently. Izabella rolled her eyes. “Besides, it would be far too dangerous for you. Lucius Malfoy is not the only person who wants you on his side... I believe Voldemort has heard a lot about you.”

“He's going to try and recruit me?”
“Most probably.”

Izabella nodded slightly as she engulfed the information.
“You will be safe at Hogwarts, just be careful. I trust Sirius will keep his eye on you.”

“I'm sure he will.” she said, smiling inwardly. Dumbledore watched her carefully for a moment then nodded.

“Very well Miss Prince, you may go.”
“Thank you Professor.” she said, leaving the office and slowly making her way down towards the dungeons.

She paused outside of the common room entrance, her head resting against the wall as she chewed on her lip. This year was going to be harder than she had orignally thought. She sighed heavily then entered the dark, green common room.

Hey Jazz, wow what a chapter! The way you write makes me wish I was there in person. Love this part; I like Ruby also. So now we have a trio for that time era. The IRS; Izabella, Ruby, and Scott. I'm glad she has friends who except her, as is. Dumbledore, the all knowing. Arggg! I'm so curious what he was going to say!!!!!!!!!!!!! Maybe that Sirius, James, and Lily are in this gtoup of people, and they will be telling her things about Lucius that she won't want to hear. And that he is there to help her if she needs it. You always end your chapters in a way that makes me feel the same way your character is feeling. I like that.

Chapter Twenty-Nine – Conflicting Questions 2nd September 1978
“What's the matter with you?” Ruby questioned as Izabella plonked down at the Slytherin table, slamming her bag down on the floor and folding her arms tightly.

“I don't know why I bothered to come back.” she grumbled.
“Why?” asked Ruby, turning her body to face Izabella.
“Everyone keeps staring at me!”

Ruby rolled her eyes, shaking her head slightly.
“Of course they are!” she exclaimed. “First, you were dating Lucius Malfoy the best looking, richest Slytherin out there. Then you're seen on a date with Sirius Black! Who, although he is a traitor, still has the surname 'Black'.”

“It wasn't a date.” Izabella mumbled.
“Whatever it was, everyone else just sees two gorgeous men fighting over you.”

“They are not! Ruby, I'm not like that! I don't care about blood status or anything-”
“I know you don't. What does it matter what anyone thinks?”

Izabella sighed heavily and grabbed a sandwich from the plate in front of her.
“Fine. Thanks Rubes.”
“Any time.” Ruby replied casually, flicking through the Witch Weekly magazine which lay next to her plate.

“Izabella. How pleasant to see you. I didn't expect to see you back at Hogwarts.”
“Why would that be Regulus?” Izabella said, rolling her eyes.

“I assumed that Lucius would have moved you into the Manor and would be paying for private tuition. Or perhaps you might of run away with my... Sirius.”

“You are hilarious Regulus.” Izabella said sarcastically, turning on the bench to glare at him.
Regulus laughed haughtily.

“You should make your mind up Izabella. You are taking away Lucius' dignity.”
“Who put you up to this Regulus? Voldemort?”

A loud gasp surrounded her. Ruby grabbed her arm, pinching painfully and Regulus' face tinged a dark red colour.

“Don't say that name!” Ruby hissed.
“Why? How do you know about...?”

“My father of course.”
“Your father's a-?”
“Yes! Now shut up.”

“You have a lot to learn Izabella...” Regulus said, shaking his head as he walked away quickly, mumbling to himself under his breath. Izabella turned back to Ruby and raised an eyebrow.

“You knew and you didn't tell me?”
“I assumed you already knew.”
“I only found out two days ago!”

“It's nothing to do with me Izabella. It's my father's business.”
“So you don't care? You're not bothered that innocent people are being killed?”

“Keep your voice down! Of course I care Iz. But we're Purebloods. Sometimes you have to do what you need to do.”

“You sound like Lucius...” Izabella said in a quiet voice, frowning deeply.

“Give him a second chance. He's just doing what he was brought up to do.”
Izabella sighed heavily and ran a hand through her hair.

“What about Sirius?” she asked in a small voice.
“Why settle for second best when you could have a Malfoy?”

“Ruby!” Izabella scolded, slapping her arm lightly. Ruby chuckled and swung her bag over her shoulder.

“Let's go. You might be Slughorn's favourite, but I still get into trouble when I'm late.”

Izabella rolled her eyes and stood up, following Ruby out of the Great Hall. Her feet moved unconsciously through the well-walked corridors, treading the path towards the Potions classroom.

Izabella chewed her fingers as she walked, a million questions flitting through her mind.
Should she give Lucius a second chance?... How does Sirius actually feel about her?... How does she feel about them both?... Who would she choose? Who should she choose?
