At the edges of the grounds of Hogwarts borders the Forbidden Forest, also known as the Dark Forest. The forest holds many secrets and in its depths, hidden in the shadows dwells creatures who are not only of a friendly nature. All the rumors you have heard of the forest are probably more correct than not and you would do good to keep at a safe distance from this ominous place. And please, keep your voice down.

As the name implies; it is strictly off limits for students (yes, that means you too Gryffindors). Get too close and the Groundskeeper will shoo you away to safety. No student is to enter the Forest without accompanied by a professor.

You wouldn’t dare to enter the Forest after these warnings… Would you?

He had finally gotten a free moment and left the castle. Everyone was interested in each other and Eddie could care less. Making his way near the forest he found a spot right at the edge and sat down. This seemed like a great place to do some work.

Pulling out the grass snake he set him down and then pulled the mouse out of his other pocket. "Look what I found you, Charles. It was just scurrying away in the castle." He hadn't been so lucky the last term, but hey this was good. "Now if you want this you have to do what I say."

Opening the book, The History of Parsletonguehe looked through the pages. He didn't care what anyone said, he would figure out a way to speak it. He could care less if he understood the snake as long as the snake understood him.

Where was that page? Where was it? Eddie would find it, had it bookmarked, but of course, it had fallen out. Feeling something he looked at his hand to see the mouse trying to nip at his fingers. "Oh no you don't." He looked to check on Charles when he saw a boy coming closer.

"Hey be careful of the snake."

Zarina only heard about the rumors for the Forbidden Forest but to actually get to see it and like go in it, that was an offer that was too good to refuse. She needed an accomplice though. She needed a henchmen to help carry out her plan. She owled Mel who she met at the feast to come with her for a little adventure. I mean she was a gryffindor so she had some courage and possibly some curiosity. Zae knew Mel would be up for it. As she approached the forest, she saw how dark it looked inside. She even heard some howling and thought it was wayy too cool!

She was itching for Mel to get here that's for sure, before they got caught that is...

He watched the boy a bit. He knew he was older and he had seen him around school last term, but Eddie didn't know exactly how smart he was. Could he do his homework and get passing marks? He was a puffer too, so that could make it easier to get him to do his homework if he tried to say he was just needing help.

Melbourne had thrown on a pair of slightly stained jeans and a cozy sweater before she had dashed down to the grounds. Her hair pulled into a decent braid was thumping against her back as she made it to Zarina’s side. ”Hey Z” she grinned at her as she pulled to a stop next to her and looked around the area. Her eyes were searching the grounds behind them for Professors or the groundskeeper where she bounced on her foot in nerves. ”how do you like being a snake?” she asked as she grinned at the younger student.

”we have to be careful here…I don’t want the non-boyfriends to find out about this” she whispered and yes she had said boyfriends….because she was currently going on dates and trying to figure things out with two people – a detail she had informed both Hadley and Zarina of on the train after Ace had left.

Carl…he’d be sad if Mel got hurt and Ace…well, he’d be upset that she had gotten in trouble or well…that she had gotten hurt too but he had to keep up appearances with being a prefect. "What do we want to do in there?" She asked as she took out her wand and readied herself for the adventure.

Kimi had to hide a laugh when the boy did a poor attempt at Parseltongue and said "Yeah i suppose it was lucky that your snake managed to go in the right direction" Kimi knew from his research that to be a Parseltongue you had to have it pass down to you from whoever in the family could speak it and Kimi knew that it was rare for anybody to speak Parseltongue nowadays

He was getting really annoyed by this boy, but he wouldn't show it. No, Eddie knew how to play people so play he would. "I want to train this snake and you are in my way, so yes I am busy. Parseltongue is an art. You might be born with the ability, but you have to perfect it. That is what I'm doing." It sounded true so he was going to keep it that way. "I'm not lying, I really can." He did roll his eyes a little to make it look like that so offended him.

Rayna scanned the outskirts of the forest as she approached. Her left hand was gripping the shoulder strap of her bag, and her right was free and able to use her wand if needed.
'So this is the Forbidden Forest.' Rayna thought and hung around the edge of the treeline.

There had to be some interesting plant or animal life near here. Definitely different than at home. Rayna took her reference book out again and began to skim the ground for anything worth noting.

A puffer talking to snakes? PLEASE! He just looked at the boy. He knew that blood lines and things had changed houses, his own sister was a stupid puffer, but come on this kid acted like a muggle born. He just eyed the kid up and down.

A smile slowly showed on his face, "You can? Wow, that is so awesome. Well here is a snake, prove it. You will be the coolest boy in school if you can actually do this." He knew a phony when he saw one and since he was being a phony with this it was obvious this one was too.

Daniel was nervous about coming here, seriously it was called the Forbidden Forest and it must have a reason for it, he had heard some very disturbing stories about the place from his Uncle Jose who had come here before for a few terms. "You've seen it, now can we go?" He asked Rayna.

She had been going into the library to search for books ever since Genny had told her about the creatures in the forest. Her biggest interest was the Centaurs that were in there. She had been reading up on them and even though she knew that Genny had said that they didn't really like to talk to the students she hoped she could change their mind. She liked everyone, even creatures to like her so, of course, saying centaurs didn't like students made her want to talk to them more.

Why were they not allowed into this forest? She couldn't remember if anyone really said other than the creatures were dangerous in there, but could they really be that dangerous? She stepped closer to the edge of the forest and looked around.

It was hard to keep a routine when on a trip, even a long trip for an entire school year, and Will was only now starting to settle back into his Ilvy routines. Hogwarts had heavier foods and colder weather, and he'd been lazy far too long. At least jogging along the lake was scenic, and he did two complete turns along the shoreline every morning.

Perhaps tomorrow he'd extend it to three.

He spotted a flash of blond ahead of him, and Will doubled down on his speed so that when he passed whoever it was, he was running flat out and not huffing his way through a sad jog. As he passed her, Will did a double take, slowing down to grin as he recognized Madelyn.

And here he was a sweaty mess. "Don't tell me you're gonna walk home, Blondie."

"This girl Genny told me that there are Centaurs in there and that they really don't like students, but how could they not like me if they don't know me?" She knew how stupid that sounded, but she really felt if they just met her they would like her and she wanted to meet a centaur, so it was so tempting.

"Want to go for a little walk?"

He was mostly done with his jog anyway, so a walk wouldn't be out of the question. Will wiped his face with the hem of his shirt before giving a shrug and stepping off the path completely. Might as well die with a pretty girl, rather than alone.

"No, I haven't heard anything. The people I hang with from Hogwarts aren't talkers." Yeah, and maybe he gloated a little when he said that. He hadn't done much in the way of really meeting people, but he'd enjoyed who he'd met so far.

She gave him a smile just joking, but really if he had met people that weren't talking to him they probably weren't really friends. Though she couldn't see anyone not being friends with Will, he was certainly one of those guys you just enjoyed spending time with.

Her eyes were back on the forest though and she reached down and grabbed his hand. Maybe she was a bit nervous after what Genny and Torrance said about the forest, but she wasn't going to let that stop her.

"Why not? They are such interesting creatures and they know so much. I've been reading about them and mermaids, did you know mermaids are in the lake?" She was determined to go there when the weather was a bit warmer. She took over a branch on the ground and started to head into the forest.
