Levi had somehow managed to make it to the trolley without knocking a first year over. By completely accident, of course, but they were small and he was not and truth be told, though he was not callous, he was also not the type to necessarily look out for the younger ones. At school and once the sorting had taken place, he probably would sometimes look out for fellow Gryffindors, but that was the extent of his awareness when it came to first years, for the most part. Unless they were right on his face, of course, but that was another matter entirely.

This, of course, assuming he remembered they existed

Anyway.

He was hungry and the choices he had were plentiful and he was also avoiding several people, all of which had last names that began with K and ended with a G. Curiously enough, so did his.

So curious.

The now sixth year jiggled the coins in his pocket and began to question the trolley lady about the nutritional value of the items she was selling.

Mel had managed to not only get to the station early, but had managed steal her way toward the food trolley almost immediately on the ride back to school. The Gryffindor fifth year had had an easy morning for the most part. She was bright eyed and bushy tailed haired…that, was of course one of the downsides of having baby brothers that liked pulling on your hair with their sticky little fingers.

She loved Wyatt, he was the best…still there were times that he just needed to grow up already…or well, not put paste and glue in his sister’s hair. Mel looked around at the people milling about the curious chorus of jingling coins drew her attention in front of her.

Oh…Levi.

She’d recognize his…um…face? Wait, face? She was standing behind him but still, she was recognizing his hair and the back of his head – which was a nice head mind you from her vantage point behind him. Still, Melbourne the keeper of lost things took a quick step forward before walking up to him. ”Hey Kenning…see anything good?” she asked before lowering her voice ”Have you lost anything yet?” she asked in a comically low whisper, of course she was kidding he usually didn’t lose things until classes started or that was what she had noticed when he had been frantically studying for OWLs last term. ”How’d you do on OWLs?” she asked at the end a hopeful smile playing across her face.

Great! He found the food trolley lady. James was hungry and in need of food, asap. Pumpkin pasties, cauldron cakes, jumping jellies to chocolate frogs ... anything to make his tummy stop growling! He would sacrifice all his knuts if he had to. No way he was going to wait until the annual feast begin, he would die even before he could reach those steps. James frowned when he realised a small line has already formed in front of the trolley. Urgh. His patience and sugar blood levels were running low. Maybe he could bribe a first year in front of him to give away his queue. He wondered if jelly slugs would suffice.

Usually, Althea brought her own snacks to eat (and subsequently share with her brothers) and would be satisfied until they'd arrived at school. Unfortunately, she'd forgotten all about preparing good for the trip as she and her brothers had been at odds with one another and she still wasn't too sure if things were actually okay.

Her stomach growled softly - though it felt like it shook her entire body - so she made her way to the food trolley. There was already a line that started and Althea would have been upset had she not spotted a very familiar person. "James!" She bounced over to him while smiling. "Hi. Funny running into you here." Which, it sort of was, considering how much the two of them loved food.

First thing she did after having a compartment was to head to the food trolly to get some snack for the ride. It didn't matter how much she grew over the summer and years here at Hogwarts, she still had that passion for food and candy.

He began to grow particularly attached to some cauldron cakes and possibly half of a dozen of chocolate frogs--items he'd not been able to consume much during the summer because parental regulations, what not--when Melbourne Sorin-Ward joined him. He offered her a smile that soon enough turned into a good-natured laugh. As it turned out, as long as he was studiously avoiding certain personal shortcomings, he could be in a pretty good mood. So, things were not bad.

"Nothing lost yet," He announced, easily. "But I think we can both agree there's still time."

The topic of his OWL results wasn't necessarily something he was eager to discuss. He'd done very well in the subjects he'd wanted to continue to take on his NEWT level--and even in those he did not but would anyway--but Divination, Arithmancy and Astronomy still remained a sore spot. Not that he had any plans to continue any of them after his fifth year--though Divination had been part of the plan until last winter--but Levi had always figured not taking these would be his choosing. He'd never expected to be forcefully removed from them.

Which was fine. It wouldn't really affect him. But it still stung enough that the boy was not resolute to pretend all of three subjects just simply weren't part of the Hogwarts curriculum anymore. Clearly, if Levi Kenning could not have them as choices, then they must have been canceled.

"I did well." It was a perfectly acceptable response. He paid for three cauldron cakes and one chocolate frog. "No yelling at home about them, at least." Not that his parents had been pleased about the two Ps and that one A. But. "So, I'm good. Are you ready for your OWLs, though?"

It hadn't been that long since the train had left the station and the seventh year Ravenclaw was already hungry. He vaguely heard his parents voices in the back of his mind as he walked through the corridor of the train that he shouldn't buy something to eat as his mother had lovingly meaning stressed out in the early morning, afraid he'd miss the train packed him some bread he could eat.

As much as he liked the gesture, he wasn't really in the mood for bread. As he reached the trolley, Mason waited in the short line and thought about what he should get. It wasn't as if he was rich or anything. In fact, he put his hands in his uniform pants, he had already changed, and took out just enough to buy a single chocolate frog.

......maybe he should keep the money? It wasn't as if the chocolate frog was that important... Hmm to buy or not to buy, that is the question.

Of course Dora was hungry. OF COURSE. She never listened when her dad told her she should have breakfast, just like she never listened when he told her to finish up packing in advance. Heh. Yep. The blonde had spent the better part of the morning yelling that she couldn't find things... and then finding them. It was exhausting work.

As she queued up she finally drew herself from her thoughts and looked around her... and noticed she had lined up behind MASON. New friend! One who didn't care for hugs. She had noticed that.

"Hey! Do you want some food, too. It's on me. Friends do things like that. Also, we can practice in the Room of Requirement, I bet. That way we don't have to get like... proper permission and all, " she said everything in rapid succession. Yes indeed.

.......Merlin's Beard, Dora was chatty today.

Mason had known the Gryffindor stood behind him the moment she had spoken to him without having to turn around and see who it was. He did turn to the side a bit to look at her and placed his money back in his pocket.

Only a stupid person would decline the offer of free food but he also did not want to come over as greedy, so he shrugged his shoulders. "If you want to" he said casually. "I can get something myself" but in his mind he was saying 'buy something for me, free food!'

At the mention of the Room of Requirement, Mason frowned slightly, wondering what she was talking about. Then he remembered he had asked her to tutor him when they had been at the bookstore and he nodded his head in agreement. "Do you know how to get in?" he asked cause he sure didn't.

James heard a voice calling his name and turned around. He grinned when he realised who the owner of the voice was. "Hey Althea," he waved, delighted to see her again. "Funny to see you here too." James couldn't help but to chuckle at that. "I've tried to find you at the platform but I couldn't find you. I figured you have already board the train with your brothers before I came. Good thing that you're here now. Where is your compartment at?" he asked. If her compartment wasn't full, he could come by and sit with her or ask her if she wanted to hang out in his. "Hungry?" Knowing Althea, he knew she was. Why else would she be here if she wasn't, right?

Her smile widened, mostly because James was such a fun person to be around - and, not surprisingly, she felt comfortable and at ease whenever she saw him. Huh. "Did you really?" she said, eyes widening. "I mean, we were together, but they went to do their own thing," she shrugged, because all of that didn't matter - they weren't on speaking terms with one another anyway.

She grinned at him, and spoke sweetly, "I'm in the back, you should come by later." If her brothers were going to do whatever they wanted, then she might as well too, right? Plus, James always made for good company, she found. "You know I am." It was a constant thing with her; she'd eat, and then a few hours later would be hungry again. Thankfully, James understood that. "What are you going to get?"

BAAAAACK TO HOGWARTS!

Natalie was excited. Clearly. She was bouncing a little as she made her way to the food trolley. She made it Liam's job to go find a compartment for them to sit in and she was going to get snacks for the way back to school. Yeah, their mum had made food for them, but nothing was better than the sweets on the trolley.

Digging for the coins she had sneaked into her pocket, Natalie approached the trolley and looked around, trying to decide what she wanted. Hmmm.. something substantial? Or something sweet and yummy?

The entire walk up the front of the train was filled with the mumblings of the young girl. With each step she took, Jessa repeated the list of things she would be getting from the trolley. Last time she'd been here, she couldn't for the life of her make up her mind and the grumbling of her school mates that stood behind her had been testament enough to the fact her indecision was not welcome.

"Jelly slugs, cauldron cakes, chocolate frogs, fizzing whizbees." Over and over she repeated the mantra as the line that signaled the food trolley grew more and more visible. "Jelly slugs, cauldron cakes, chocolate frogs, fizzing whizbees."

Merlin, she should have known the line would be this long so early into the train ride. This was when most people would grab their snacks to settle in. "Jelly slugs, cauldron cakes, chocolate frogs, fizzing whizbees.--" Wait, wasn't there something else she'd wanted from the trolley? It'd been on the tip of her tongue....and now it was gone. Oh merlin, how had the indecision managed to sneak back in????

Jessa did her best to get on tip toes, in an effort to get a look at the trolley. That would likely jog her memory. It was interesting how the view changed from up here. Unfortunately, this new altitude and her fixation with the trolley had caused her to completely miss the girl standing just before her. The thud as they collided was somewhat jarring but it certainly regained her attention. "I'm sooooo sorry!" She said, trying to regain her balance. "I was trying to remember what came after fizzing whizbees."

Mel grinned as she heard Levi’s laugh and couldn’t help but laugh at the answer to her question. ”Oh…there’s always time, except for me…that’s always what I lose first,” she added in a sigh for dramatic effect though really the sigh was more at the food ahead of them.

She wanted all of it – well, not all but there was a good load of food that seemed utterly divine. ”I’m glad to hear it” Mel smiled softly at the still much taller Gryffindor boy…seriously what was this cruel joke that all of the boys in the school even her closest friends were pulling on her? They made her feel like a miniature doll in a doll house compared to a living breathing wizard…”oh merlin, I’m not entirely ready at all?...i’m almost certain you’ll be the one finding my lost knickknacks this term while I’m off studying.”

Studying. That wasn’t entirely what she wanted to do all term long as well, there were adventures to be had…and possible friend people to go on very awkward date-things with? No, no they weren’t date things they were dates. The fifth year still hadn’t wrapped her head around the fact that she was sort of dating someone…a non-exclusive mess that made her head hurt when she really tried to think about it.

That would have to be discussed some time that year…after all; it wasn’t like she had had any time for discussions over summer with the baking. ”oh! I have something if you want something to eat while waiting,” she said as she pulled a small tin out of her bag. ”It’s got little things from my aunts shop that I made this summer in it! Like cookies, brittle, if it was sold at the shop there’s one in there…that, is for you” she grinned as she tapped her box with her thumb and a name appeared on it with tiny script below it. Levi Kenning’s Lost Treats…”I had to, also I had my aunt charm it so other people can only see the name not the extra details” she grinned. Seeeee Mel was quick witted like that – ”don’t want gryffindors punning you to Polaris and back”

Yep yep yep. Food on her! The Gryffindor patted his arm gently and offered a smile. She could totally buy him some food for the ride. Like, her allowance was definitely burning a hole in her pocket atm. Yeeeep.

"Oh, I don't doubt that you could buy it yourself. I just don't mind buying. You can buy next time! " Not that she would allow that either. Hehe.

Wait... hadn't they met while he was searching for the Room of Requirement? Or was that a different odd Ravenclaw? Could have been. They were mostly a weird lot, the Claws. "I'm a Gryffindor... I think it goes without saying that I know how to get in, " she said with a grin. Her cousins had told her ALL about it before she even came to Hogwarts! "You could come to some of my tutoring sessions sometime if you want to. Like during school holidays. My Uncle is really a great teacher. He was our defense professor before Hirsch! "

One of the best things about the Hogwarts Express was the food trolley. Hattie loved it so much, and was always excited for it. It was why she was heading there right now. She had settled herself into a compartment, and now wanted to go and get some snacks. She hadn't found her friends yet though, so she was hoping to maybe run into a few of them in the corridor. It was going to be great to finally have a catch up with some of her friends that she hadn't seen during the summer.

She beamed as she came to the food trolley. Genny was there! She hadn't seen her in a while, so it was kind of exciting to see her. "Hey Genny!" The blonde beamed as she came to stand by her.

James nodded. "I see, okay sure. After we get our snacks, I'll hang out with you at your compartment, I think mine is in the middle somewhere," he replied with a grin. He hoped nobody else was in the compartment with them, less people equal less distractions. Most importantly, no kids trying to steal their food. He would growl at them if he had to. Nobody dared touch his sweets. Nuh-uh, nope.

Of course, he wouldn't do that to Althea or to girls in general. James didn't mind sharing his food with her. She was great to hang out with, and he planned on asking her out more often. Ya know, just as /friends/... "Oh yeah. I know you are, here..." he stepped behind her. "I let you order first," he smirked, giving her a wink as he did so. He didn't just give up his queue in the line for just anyone.

He thought for a moment before answering her. "Oh man, there are so many I want to get but I had to settle with just one cauldron cake and a small packet of jelly slugs." James shrugged, showing his limited amount of coins. "What about you?" he asked her back.

Oooh, she kind of wanted some cauldron cakes, now that she thought about it. A distant voice somewhere in the corridor said something about cauldron cakes and made her tummy rumble with cauldron cake fueled desire. Having almost made a complete decision of what she would get for her and her brother, Natalie opened her mouth to tell the trolley lady what she wanted to eat.

"I wa-AAH!" Her sentence turned into a squeal of minor fright and terror when something or someone bumped into her. Her feet got tangled up and she fell over. Just like that. With a little pout, eyebrows furrowed, Natalie brushed her mop of wavy brown hair out of her face and got back on her feet, finding that the mass that ran into her was in fact a person.

"It's okay," she said with a little grumble, rubbing the elbow she had landed on. Her blue eyes got wide when she realized her hand was empty. "My money!" she said with a little gasp, realizing it had all gone to the floor when she fell. Stooping over, she gathered it back up, hoping she didn't lose any. She needed all of it for all the SUGAR she was gonna buy.

Holy kneazle! Jessa watched on in absolute horror as the girl she'd bumped into actually fell down. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. The young girl thought to help her up but in no time she was already back on her feet. To make matters worse, the girl was soon on the floor again, looking money...money she had surely caused her to lose and all Jessa could really do was stand there, wide eyed and watching.

Finally, it occurred to her to HELP with the coins that had gone in every which direction and just like that, the Ravenclaw was on her knees. "Here's one!" She enthused, offering it over to her. "And I think I see another..." Without much thought, Jessa crawled along the floor, her focus fully on the silver circle.

Her quest took her through a couple pairs of feet and at some point earned her a foot to her hand but in the moment she felt it worth it because HERE it was.

"Did you have anymore?" She asked, offering over this one as well.

The moment Dora patted his arm, he had pulled his arm away. Nothing personal, he just did not like it when people touched him. The hug at the bookstore had been awkward enough for him. He gave a quick smile though, showing that he wasn't angry and then nodded his head. "Alright, then i want a chocolate frog" hmmm...now that she was paying he could use that at his advantage so he held up two fingers. "Two chocolate frogs" rebellious!

Wait, so her uncle had been a defence teacher had Hogwarts? Now he understood how she got so good. "Maybe, if he won't mind of course" he said with a shrug of his shoulder. "I only know Professor Hirsch, who was he then?"

Althea felt her cheeks flush slightly, and she did everything she could to keep her smile under control. It was a complete failure, of course, but as this was a normal occurrence whenever she was around the Slytherin, she embraced it. "I'll be waiting, then; and no one's sitting with me, either." And she hoped it stayed that way, or else it would be incredibly difficult to relax.

Something she appreciated about him was his thoughtfulness. He didn't have to let her order before him,...but she appreciated the sentiment nonetheless. "Thanks,...you don't have to do that, you know." But, she supposed that this is what "friends" did for one another, and for that she was grateful for a friend like him.

Shaking her head, she nudged him gently and took his hand in hers. "Don't be silly, let me treat you. Get whatever you like." She'd convinced her dad to send her off with more money than he normally did because, well, she was his favorite and the youngest. Plus, he rarely turned her down when it came to her demands (as long as they were reasonable, at least.) "I think I'll get some liquorice wands and cauldron cakes." Since summer was over, she could enjoy more sweets away from her mother's watchful eyes.

Kimi was glad to be going back to school as he waited in the queue for the food trolley he made sure that the bag with all of his medication was on him and he hoped that he wasn't made to wait too long he didn't want to risk passing out and well not remembering the event

Ah.

Alright then. He didn't like touching it seemed. She had noted his reluctance to hug her before and then this. Alright. It was not in her nature... not to show affection with a well placed hug or arm oat, but she'd work on remembering that he wasn't particularly keen.

This could take some time, mind.

"Go crazy. Why not three? " she said with a grin as she pulled her money pouch from her bag. No need to worry, she had plenty of cash for a few of them. Especially considering she was only allowing herself ONE cauldron cake.

Ugh.

Being a teenager was tough when she had to start thinking about what she ate and how it affected her body.

And she got to be so good because she put a LOT of time and effort into it. Not just because of who her uncle was. Hmph. "Sabel Dakest. He used to be an Auror before he became a teacher. " She was very proud to be able to call him a close personal friend of the family and someone who had helped raise her basically. Not being BLOOD relation really meant nothing to her. The man was family in the truest sense of the word.

"Is there anything you want to practice besides shields? I can teach you some really cool destructive stuff if you want, " she added with a glimmer to her eye. Nothing got the Umbridge offspring more excited than the prospect of blowing things up.. or at the VERY least, a small fire.

Sarah wanted a snack. She was rather tired of wandering the hallway looking for a compartment that wasn't full. Maybe she would just stand in the hallway the rest of the time and people watch.

As she got in line she recognized a face a head of her. Man it was nice to see someone she knew already. None of that awkward silence and get to know you thing, he already knew her deepest secret. "Kimi ... right?" She asked as she neared him, hoping she had gotten his name right. How embarrassing if she hadn't.
