And then there was a little girl, not much younger than herself. She beamed as the little one said her name.... oh new name to be added to her little notebook. Preoccupied with looking for the journal and writing and sketching she only looked up just when Mo ran into the wall--
-- and vanished!
Brown eyes grew large, jaw dropping slightly, she watched Mo come back out as if its just the most normal thing to happen. He came out of the wall. Which wasn’t really a wall apparently? That is so going into her little notebook.
So there she was scribbling again and suddenly looked up. Do it in style? She pressed her lips together and gulped.
It wasn’t really a wall she could convince herself of that.....
No that wasn’t working-- because it IS a wall. Theres just something about the whole brick aura that says SOLID and PAINFUL.
But she can think it’s a SPECIAL wall—a wall made just for them Magical types. The High Mother said she was special, that’s why she was going to this special school instead of staying at home where she always wrecks everything. She puts her notebook down into her open bag and sets her hands on the trolley handle.... and pauses. She looks at the little Bay.
“Would you like to go ahead?” Beams. Always put others before yourself High Mother always says mmhmm.

But oh. She was an orphan. Why were there so many orphans in Mo's life? Wasn't Aquila one too? Mo eyed the blond Ravenclaw girl. "I bet you're a natural at this magic stuff, Bay. Even if you were Muggleborn, which... who knows?" And almost no one cared.
He needed to think about that High Mother Priestess thingy, because, well... WHAT?!? But in the meantime, Mo gave Aquila a pat on the top of her little blond head before offering his hands to both girls.
"I'll go with you. We can all go through together."
Taking her teasing as he did Bay decided to agree with Mo and move on. Her sarcasm sometimes got her into trouble so better to take the out and keep your mouth shut. Bay had been called sassy often enough. Thankfully he took her heritage with good grace and was even kind enough to compliment her.
Blushing slightly she gave Mo a grateful smile. "Thank you Mo." As that point their other companion spoke up. Rolling her eyes with a slightly scornful chuckle her green eyes went back to the magical wall. Hearing Mo's offer made her feel a bit more secure about the whole ghosting through a brick wall thing but she had just seen him walk through it.
Taking her trolley in both hands the 11 year old tightened her fist, steeled herself mentally, looked around to make sure the coast was clear, and then put all her body weight behind rushing the wall. "Catchya on the flip side!" She shot over her shoulder. She had a sudden urge to yell out some sort of battle cry as the wall came rushing at her but refrained with more then a little effort.
Closing her eyes at the last minute Bay slipped through the barrier and emerged on the other side. Popping open her peepers Bay was struck with the awe-inducing sight of the scarlet engine. Unable to contain herself Bay jumped up and gave a whoop of triumph.

Oh would you look at that, the little girl has gone through. How had Aquila not notice that? Well she was distracted. She is Distracted!Claw after all. If you think its fun out here you should try living in her head.
And then she came back out. Ok now theres two of them that survived the wall. Maybe its not so bad after all?
And there was something about the little one. She was doing that thing with her eyes the way other Priestesses in her island would do too. Did she want to be a priestess too?
She was just about to offer her how to do the perfect Priestess holler-and-roll when the little girl grabbed her trolley and bolted. Okay. Aquila glanced at Mo’s offered hand and took it smiling bravely.... or as bravely as she could muster anyway. Other hand grasping the trolley handle, she gave it a PUSH—
The heavy trolley rolled forward. And then Aquila panicked. She let go of her trolley just as it crossed the barrier, thinking she would stop short just before her nose hit the wall...
... thing is, she forgot that Mo was grasping her hand too. Oops.

Mo watched as first Bay ignored his hand and powered through the wall like an old pro, and then Aquila took her own chance at the barrier. He honestly thought she'd make it too, what with her picking up speed and dragging on his hand like that.
And then she stopped, and her trolley rolled through without her. Mo nearly bowled Aquila over, and it was only his newly amazing Quidditch reflexes that kept them both from face planting through the wall. "Careful, Key. You just need to keep going."
Or... this was taking too long. "Just trust me, actually. And hold on." Mo scooped up Aquila under one arm and carried her through the barrier.

After getting a good look at her watch she realized that she couldn't put off heading to the platform any longer. The Hogwarts Express wouldn't wait for her and she didn't have the whole day to hide out in the Western Concourse. This meant she had to start moving, yeah?
After a quick goodbye to her live source of entertainment she got her things together, secured Felix and started her walk toward the barrier.
There was another quick look around but not for Alice, nah, she was probably already on the other side. Lex still needed to run into Lottie so they could sit together like they'd planned. This meant stepping through.
With a very casual stride she made her way to the barrier, eyed the muggles who, for the most part, didn't even seem to notice her--rude, just very rude--then with a final push both she and her belongings were heading through the 'wall'.

Mika had run the ENTIRE length of the western concourse until she stood right by platforms nine and ten. Sure, she might have been panting - and she might have possibly left the group behind her a bit - but hey, they were all quidditch people and she wasn't...so, this was fair. Perfectly fair.
She stood there for a moment catching her breath until she was sure everyone had caught up and really - until they knew she had ducked through the passage. So she stood there a moment. Breathed in and out and then pushed through the wall.
Her hands were shaking as her body disappeared and she finally made her way to the other side to board the train.

Standing there staring at the archway, Jayden was starting to get a little nervous as that wall looked a little too hard.
He was supposed to run THROUGH the thing?
Realising that he was tensing up, his mother, Cecilia, said to him, "It's okay dear, we're here with you. Just take a run straight through the wall and you'll get to see what is on the other side."
Jayden pushed his trolley in front of him and started running. Moving faster and faster toward the wall, his feet came to a halt but the force of the trolley lunged him forward and on to platform 9 & 3/4.
His parents came rushing on to the platform as well and they hugged him and patted his head for doing such a great job. Jayden was still mesmerised at what he had just done.
Excited and nervous, Ira lugged her big trunks with her towars the wall. She had finished all the hugs and good byes, and was finally ready to start her seventh and last year in Hogwarts.
Was it already the last year so soon? She herself had trouble believing it. Taking a deep breath to calm her excited nerves, she strode forwards and glanced back once, smiling at her parents standing far away, and with a push, she was on the other side of the platform!
Petra had listened to her mother on how to go through the wall so with a running start Petra headed toward the wall and instantly she was on the other side, looking at the train station. She stopped and looking around she said to herself this is it..Onward to Hogwarts.
The dark-looking lad walked besides his mother. His head bowed, but his gaze out in front of him seeming to glare at his belongings, he looked something like a bull ready to charge.
"You'll be behaving yourself while you're away at school won't you?" She side-glanced and wore a smile of one who is humouring another. She tried to hide her concern, but did poorly.
"Having doubts?" He spoke, not looking at her at first, then directed his gaze at her. "Mum, when I have ever misbehaved while I was left on my own?" He looked up to her with an expression that suggested he truly believed what he'd just said.
Zuheir did not want to argue with her boy at the moment or hash-out bitterness over Cutty's stern opinions about the family. They were going to have a perfectly fond farewell and that was how the boy's father would hear of this. No fodder for his argument as to why Cutty needed to attend a Canadian school or live elsewhere. It WOULD BE a fond farewell and Cutty WOULD BE doing what he was told to do whilst at school this year.
"No doubts, Cutty. I just want to make sure you're prepared." She pulled him a little closer as they went through the entrance together, spitting out on the other side as though she did it everyday. Cutty seemed to have no time to react, or if he did, perhaps he too was accustomed to different forms of magical travel.
The witch spoke again to her boy, "If you find that you need anything remember to use the schools owlry and write me about it so I can sit at home and laugh at you." By which she meant she'd send him along anything he needed.
"Right." Young Cutty gave a nod of the head, her meaning clear to him as he ran off to be near where they would be boarding. He waved at his mum from a distance wanting her to be gone. He was out on his own now and he was gonna do things his way!

"Cutty! Cutty!" Jezz ran pushing her cart as fast as she could and nearly losing control of it once or twice. She wasn't sure what made her more excited. Knowing she was going back or knowing she wasn't going back alone
Heather hurried a long behind her mumbling and muttering under her breath but not ruining the excitement she saw in the younger girls eyes. She herself remembered being excited for the train. It was more like coming home than coming home ever was.
Her red hair flew and Jezz ran right up to the younger boy and his mother. "Hello," she said nodding to the boys mum. "I'm Jezzabelle. Not sure what Cutty has told you." She turned to the boy. "Just like I promised you get to meet her!" She turned and face Heather beaming. "I've told her EVERYTHING!"
Heather huffed walking up to the red head. "You really shouldn't be shouting Jezz." She flipped her blonde hair out of her face and jerked the girls trolley out of her hands. "You nearly ran over five people on the way here."
Jezz stared up at the other woman. "Sorry." Smiling. "Heather, this is Cutty," she said waving a hand to the boy. "He's going to be my first year. I'm going to help him around the school."

Zuheir Mordaunt smiled at the girl. Cutty had, of course, told her nothing, but she didn't want to bring that up because she recognized the older witch accompanying the younger girl straight away. This was going to be a moment.
Cutty's brows sunk down on his face at Jezzebelle's last words. The way she'd said it. As if it were a common thing that they did all of the time. Taking on a first year and making him or her theirs for the entire term. What else had Antoinette planned? All of the worry was soon forgotten in any case as the boys eyes rounded at the sight of his all-time favourite Harpy standing there before him. Was it really her?
When Heather flipped her hair, Cutty could see diamond-like sparkles as the sun hit it. It also seemed to move a bit slower than the world around it. And, for a long time, Cutty said nothing, too over-whelmed by his emotions and too afraid to say something stupid. Finally, his scowl returned and he spoke.
"Hi, Jezzebelle, and....Heathermalfoy." He said her name very quickly as if it were one, trying not to dwell on it, but instead making it sound all the more awkward. "I went to all of 'em!" This last part was a little sloppy as well as he did not explain that by all of 'em he meant Malfoy's games.
It had been fun and all, but the fifth year was ready to get back to school. What with working at the repair shop this summer and helping with duties at the home, he was ready for a break. And looking at it technically, Hogwarts WAS a break from that stuff, yeah? Even if it was a dump.
Ascanius really did hope that the mess of a school he had been subjected to the year before had shaped up over the summer. The smell was more then he could handle.
Walking over to the wall, he waited as he watched hoards of young wizards and gorgeous witches, wink, go through the wall. Anyone he knew? Hmm.
Toby had to admit, that wall looked a lot more welcoming today than it had done exactly a year previously. Tobias was no longer facing the unknown... he was a second year now. All experienced and with more responsibilities and expectations than last year, now he knew what he was doing.
It didn't faze him, or make him sad. In fact, Tobias was EMBRACING this. One step closer to becoming a cool fifth year.
Feeling a gentle hand on his shoulder, Tobias looked 'round to see the kind smile of his grandfather, and he smiled right back. Wow, he must have been thinking for a bit too long.
After making sure that his new, nameless kitten's carrying basket was still secure where it sat on top of his trunk, Tobias looked up again and set off, striding purposely towards the barrier.
He'd told himself that this year he would keep his eyes open as he passed through, but Toby freaked out a little bit and slammed them shut at the last second before passing through the barrier to Platfrom 9 and 3/4.
His grandparents followed Tobias through mere moments later.

"Nooo! Dyl! You caaan't leave, not yet!"
Lydia cried, clinging to the first year's arm, Blake clinging to the other crying with her. "Please, Lydia...Blake...not in public!" Alexandra whispered to her daughter and son, prying their hands off Dylan's arm. The young girl sniffled and walked alongside her brother, looking up at his with tears in her eyes. Blake quickly wiped away his tears as they walked and reached platforms nine and ten.
After grabbing the children's hands, Alexandra stepped back to give Dylan some space to run. Before he took his first step, she suddenly grabbed the collar of his shirt and turned him around and wrapped her son in a tight hug. "I'll miss you sweetheart," she whispered, kissing the top of his head. Soon his father Chris was standing behind him, hugging him too. "We both will." he said, patting his son's head. "Us too!" the two younger siblings said in unison, joining the group hug. Dylan wasn't embarrass about it though. He hugged them all back tightly, fighting back the tears that were about to burst from his eyes at any second.
"Do you have everything?" Alexandra asked as everyone broke away from the hug. Dylan nodded. "Robes?" Nod. "Books? Quills? Parchment?" Nod nod nod. "You sure you have everything? And are you warm enough in this?" she asked, gesturing to his hoodie. Another nod. "Mum, I promise I have everything. You checked about ten times, remember?" he asked with a small laugh. Alexandra sighed and nodded, grabbing her son's hand and looking at the wall. "Ready?" she asked. The boy nodded and gripped his trolley more tightly, then they ran straight for the wall with the rest of the family right behind them.
Of course she'd been to King's Cross Station before. Of course she'd been on platforms 9 and 10. And of course she knew that apparently the wall between those two led to the secret platform from which the Hogwarts Express departed. Olly had even spent a couple of hours sitting on a bench nearby and watching student after student disappearing through said wall. Only now it was HER turn to run through the wall.
And something within her simply said 'NO!' to running straight into a wall.
Which was why Olly was now standing in front of the wall, with a trolley in front of her, where her bags had been placed. She'd said goodbye to everyone back home already so she could come here alone. Only now part of her really wished that her little sister had come with her. With a sigh, Olly cocked her head slightly to the side and simply continued to regard the wall a little warily. What if something went wrong?
The Charlton family arrived at King's Cross with more or less the same excitement and nervousness as the last year. The only different thing was, they now knew that this magic was no joke, that it was real, that little Forrest H. Charlton was going to a school to learn it. He was apparently going to the best school too, but none of this knowledge took away the feelings. He was excited for returning, sad for leaving his family again, and nervous for the possibility of not being allowed inside. He met his mother's eyes and they exchanged a smile, but the woman was nervous too. She knew the events of last year well, and it was extra-hard to comfort her son when she feared something similar might happen to him.
They stood in front of the wall for a while, none of them speaking, and watched a few students pass to the other side without any problems. James Charlton checked his watch, and patted his little son's back a little strongly.
"Okay son, time to say goodbye," he announced, and took a few steps towards the wall. The family followed him, and he pushed his son towards the... passage. They couldn't wait there all day, could they?
Forrest bit his lip not to whine about the strong patting on his back, and nodded as he eyed the wall grimly. He would pass without any problems... right? He met his mother's gaze again and saw her encouraging smile, as well as his brother Oliver's snicker as if the older boy expected him to be denied access, and walked towards the wall with determination. His father was pushing his trolley to let him walk freely. He closed his eyes at the last second, and hoped to pass--and soon enough, the whole family was gone through the wall.

Having said a hearty goodbye to his Dad, Alec pushed his trolley along the train station and over towards the wall. Despite the fact that he had been staying over at Ella's for the end of the summer, it was still nice that his Dad had remembered what today was and decided to come along to say goodbye. It did make the nearly seventeen year old slightly sad that he'd only spent... what? A month at home?
The boy shook his head, as if shaking these feelings away, and pushed his trolley further along platform 9 until he came to the familiar archway between platforms 9 and 10. He stood near an unfamiliar girl and, deciding to be a gentleman, waited...
... and waited...

... Erm... was she going to go or...? Alec's grey-blue eyes flickered between the girl and the wall leading to platform 9 3/4. Did she... need motivation? He didn't have pom poms with him-- Messy was the cheerleader/ballet dancer between the two -- but he did have sweets. He reached into his pocket and brought out the two packets and held them up. "Gooooo... erm... Goooo Lady!"Waaaave went the sweet packets. Was this motivational?

Olly was still watching the wall in front of her cautiously. No, but so many others had gone through before her. She had WATCHED them go through. Plus, she definitely wasn't scared. Nope. That wasn't it. Because seriously, what was the worst that could happen? She cocked her head to the other side. A broken nose maybe. And that could be fixed quite easily. She had been so engrossed in the wall in front of her that she hadn't even thought that there could be other people too. Not that she would have acted any differently if she'd known. Was it her fault they were polite enough to wait in line? No. But this one. This one actually. He was...okay, what WAS he doing?! Olly had turned around to face the boy, giving him an incredulous look. Like, what...?!
Her brown eyes followed the sweets he was waving around a few times before focusing back on his face. "Okay, what are you doing?!" Olly had briefly contemplated just ignoring the boy all together but somehow curiosity had gotten the better of her. Also lady. HUH?! Maybe he wasn't even talking to her. Though there was no one else around. Not that she could see. So, what on Earth...!?

So his plan to motivate the girl didn't seem to be working, especially since the girl was turning back to him to question him. And really, Alec had not expected that kind of reaction. ... Okay, so he probably did look weird but... but... he had good intentions! Just a weird way of putting those intentions into actions. ... Yeah. That. He needed to sort that out, probably.
The look on the girl's face was a little scary and it made the boy slightly uncomfortable that she was looking at him like that. He placed the packets down on top of his trolley and, with his right hand, ruffled his hair. "Erm..." He cleared his throat before continuing, "I was trying to motivate you." And then he nodded over towards the wall between platforms 9 and 10, in a way of explaining what exactly he was motivating her to do.

See? Good intentions. He had plenty of those.
Brown eyes following the sweets when they were placed back on top of the trolley, Olly waited for the boy to explain. Only when he did she was even more confused than before. Looking back up at him, she noticed the clear signs of his discomfort. Not that that was bothering her per se. She was more bothered by what he was saying. And implying too.
Her head jerked back to face the wall again as he nodded towards it. She narrowed her eyes when she glanced back at the boy again, straightening up slightly. "I don't need your help!" Not that motivation and help was the same thing but whatever. As if to prove her statement, Olly finally gave the trolley in front of her a decisive push and started walked towards the wall. Olly stopped right there, only a few centimeters of distance between the wall and her trolley. CRAP! She closed her eyes for a moment. Maybe if she kept them closed she could just take the last few steps and not even notice that she was walking into a wall. Only she found herself paralyzed. As if somebody had cast a stunning spell on her. She just kept on standing there, refusing to either move or turn back around. She just needed a moment.

Time to start another term at Hogwarts. Her fifth one. It was kinda weird to think that it was her fifth one already. She was already over halfway through her Hogwarts years. That was both really freaky and really exciting all at the same time for various reasons. Mostly she just wanted to focus on the exciting part and hope that it would be a good, dementor-free term.
With Spot perched on her shoulder as usual, Penelope dragged her trunk towards the wall, pausing once she was beside Ascanius.
"You gonna go through or are you gonna stand there all day?" she asked with a grin.

It was coming closer...and closer...no, she could do this...it would be fine...almost there...the trolley was almost touching the w-
Olly stopped right there, only a few centimeters of distance between the wall and her trolley.
Ouch.
Ouch, Lady, ouch!
See, girls really were scary! Especially when they were giving that narrowed eyes look that clearly told him that he was in trouble. He reached up a hand and ruffled his hair again. Man, he was turning seventeen soon. SEVENTEEN. He was pretty sure boys... men... don't end up feeling like this, yeah? They would put up a shield and not let someone's words get to them.
This... this was what he was going to do. "If you say so," he said, shrugging his shoulders. And he was just going to wait here, yeah? Wait for the girl to walk through the wall and then walk through after her. Then, hopefully, HOPEFULLY, if they met again, she wouldn't think he was as weird as she probably thought he--
... Oh?
OH?
Was she okay or...? Alec tilted his head as he looked at the girl just STANDING there. Right by the wall. He pushed his trolley forward right until it was next to the girl's. He turned his grey-blue eyes to look down at the girl and... paused. How were you meant to console a girl? Hugs? Would she let him or go all... Ladysaurus on him? Girls were confusing too.
Sweets, though. He had those that he could utilise. The sixth year opened a packet and held it out to the girl before asking, "Sweets? I promise they're not poisoned." ... Too soon?

Okay, breaaaatheee. When she opened her eyes again she would just walk forward. Easy peasy, right?
Only when Olly did open her eyes again, all she could do was stare at the wall. It was right there. And it was...well, it was a bit intimidating. But no, she was being silly. Very very silly. And it was making her feel really annoyed with herself. What was she doing? Was she honestly scared of a wall? Again, the worst thing that could happen was for her to get a broken nose.
So why was she still standing here?
She first felt the boy next to her before she saw him. Glancing at him out of the corners of her eyes again with a frustrated sigh, she regarded him for a moment. Staring right back into his eyes. What did he want? If he wanted to go through the wall, he could just walk past her and get on with it. She didn't care. Only then she would probably rot out here for all eternity.
And then he was offering her sweets. Why? Olly raised her eyebrows at the boy, allowing her eyes to flick back and forth between his face and the sweets in his hand. Hmm. Though it would have to wait. "Have you run into the wall before?" Olly asked instead with a nod towards the wall they were standing in front of, ignoring the offered sweets. For now.

Alec turned to look over towards the wall and tilted his head. He secretly hoped she was just... nervous about walking through the wall and not someone who was... fascinated by walls. Was there even such a thing? Walls weren't... that great, were they? Nope. And this one just opened up a gateway to the Hogwarts Express which could be interesting but... it was still a wall.
And then she was staring at him. So he stared right back. Yeah, LADY, if this was a staring competition, he was not backing down. Even if looking into someone's eyes was making him feel slightly uncomfortable. It was just awkward, yeah? Looking into someone's eyes like that. Shuffle...
Had he run into the wall before? "Well... this'll be my sixth time running through it," he said, placing particular emphasis on the word 'through'. Because he hadn't ever crashed into the wall before, thankfully, and he wasn't going to do that anytime soon. So the girl had nothing to worry about, yeah? But this did raise a few questions and Alec, being the curious boy he had always been, turned to her and asked, "Is this your first time running through the wall?"
... Also... was she going to take the sweets? Because he didn't want to look like an idiot... again.
Smirking down at the familiar voice, Ascanius nudged his girlfriend and said, "Cute. I was planning of going through, yeah?" Otherwise how would he have been able to board the train and go back to school. The nasty, dirty and ever boring Hogwarts. Smirk. Optimism at its finest, gents.
Anyway, he finally looked ahead at the wall and said, "Are you gonna go?" 'Cause that part was JUST as important, yeah? If she was going to sass him the way she was doing right now.
