Front of the train getting full? No worries, there's plenty of room in the back cars. Mind your step and take small children by the hand. Kiss your Ma and your Pa, get the last jab in at your younger siblings, but don't dally!
The Hogwarts Express will be pulling out soon, headed to Hogwarts for another magical year. You may RP your character boarding the train here, saying their goodbyes, and meeting new Hogwarts students.

Especially not if they started eating each other's faces.
Did Ella want to hold him? She nudged the little guy forward with her hand and towards the Hufflepuff. "Sometimes. Also hisses and scratches, but only if you're bothering him." Prime example being Alexa Cambridge. "Sick? She okay?" It didn't seem like there was much an owl could do for an ill elderly person, but maybe it made her feel better or something. Whatever worked.
Hmm. That made sense. "The congratulations and stuff is gonna blow over soon enough." It looked like it was in the badge description. "I think so. Don't try to hide it. S'your badge now, own that thing." The only way to get rid of the attention was to embrace it, yeah? And Alice had no doubt her friend would start doing that soon enough. If there was anyone cut out for Head Girl, it was Ella Bishop.
And if there was anyone who could pull off no shoes at a train station, it was Ariana Logan.
".... I like her pajamas."
"I don't really know what he's doing. He hasn't been around much lately." And that was putting it mildly, actually. Two years was a long time. "I was actually wondering if Soph was going to hex him but I guess not." Shrug. If she sounded mildly disappointed, that's because she was. Mordred had hurt her best friend so she thought he deserved at least a little hexing. It was up to the brunette badger, though. Ella clearly didn't have the whole story.
Only if you're bothering him? What counted as bothering to an ocelot? Ella scooped up the little guy carefully and observed him. Caught off guard by Alice's question, the blonde kept her eyes on the creature and rather numbly replied, "She's dying." Yeah. "Sorry, I...I'm trying to get used to saying that." And to not cry every time she did. Distractions helped and the ocelot was the perfect distraction right now.
"You're right. I guess I just figured I could put it off until we boarded the train." But Alice had a valid point and the sooner she put it on, the sooner she could get past all the congratulatory greetings and such. So taking the badge off her backpack, she carefully pinned it to her shirt. "What do you think? Am I owning it yet?" She even popped her hip halfheartedly and smiled.
Her pajamas were nice. Ella tilted her head and eyed the graduate curiously. "I swear sometimes I think Oakey's luck is rubbing off on her."

Theo was in an okay mood today. The good part of his mood was primarily because he had his hair cut yesterday and it still had the shiny bounce to it this morning, and the baaaaaad part of his mood was pretty obvious. Hopefully he could avoid everyone until the feast was over. And until then, he just needed to find West and Cassia to hang with. He hoped they wouldn't be in the prefect's compartment because he really REALLY didn't want to see Alice, or any of the new prefects. He didn't really care who any of them were other than Cassia. SLYTHERIN RULEZ.
He said goodbye to his mum, who was the only one who had bothered to see him off this year, and made his way across the platform with his head low.
And then he waited. Waited to board. Whilst he did, Theo looked around for certain faces, but he couldn't see anyone other than Ella, Sophie... and Mordred! He hadn't seen Mordred in ages, and he would've said hey but he soon spotted Alice so he turned the other way, where he caught his reflection in the train window.
DAYUM, that hair really did look good.
So good, that Theo actually smiled.

Dummm. Dummm. Dummmm. Pulling her trunk along. It was still really hard. Maybe she had packed a little bit too much. But she wanted to make sure she had lots of clothes. It had to last her all year. But she wanted to get rid of her trunk. Like. She wanted to get rid of it now. She frowned, tugging it along, and probably running over someone's foot. Hmmm. Maybe she should have gotten her dad to get rid of it. Or at least looked after it. Because you know. He was bigger than she was.
Oooh. Look there was a big person. A biggger person anyway. He was looking at his face in the train window. Well that was weird. Vain person. "Heey." She came up to him. Oh. He was tall. "Hey you. Person looking in the mirror." Because she didn't know his name obviously. "Do you.... know where I'm supposed to put my trunk?"

He couldn't help but feel his cheeks turn red though. He really couldn't believe he was caught diving and by an older girl. Just great! If she even thought she could just tease him about it she had another thing coming. "Got a problem with my dive? Bet you couldn't have done it without falling onto the tracks."
Did he practice all summer he looked at her for a long time. "Yep came to the station every day and practice diving near the tracks just to make sure I had it mastered to impress you." He flashed a smile again. "So did it impress you?" He wasn't going to show that it was embarrassing now way, Bart wasn't going to show that at all. "So you like frogs?" He wasn't sure what else to ask an older girl. He knew better than to ask about farts, or burps, or gross things from his mother's lectures for years. Pulling out a sugar quill from his non frog pocket and started to suck on it. "Want one?"
No sooner than she'd said what she did to Sander did the boy before her start smirking. Smirking because he made a dive or smirking because she'd sarcastically described it as smooth....? Either way, she blinked at him. From what she could tell, he wasn't saying anything she didn't already know. After chasing around her kneazle for five years, there was no way she couldn't be considered a skilled diver. As for whether or not she had a problem with his dive, she simply shrugged. "Nope. It's got nothing to do with me and you've got it down good enough to not get yourself killed so...." By all means, dive away. His bet though, got something like a snort of amusement out of her. "Is that a joke? I've made trickier dives trying to wrangle my kneazle. Can't think of a place I haven't had to dive for him." She wouldn't be mentioning the time he bolted into the boy bathroom though. Ahem. No.
Oh but look at that. Kid had a sense of humour. Either that or no social life. "Nah, takes a lot more than that to impress me but it was a decent dive I'll give you that." To be honest, not everyone could have pulled it off and she would conveniently have completely lost that badge in her pocket if someone fell onto the tracks trying to catch a runaway frog. "I don't like frogs." No. Not really. "But I don't mind them either. I prefer pets of the furry persuasion, better for night snuggles and all." Can't snuggle a frog--can;t have it on your pillow either. NOPE. "And I would, thanks." Second favourite type of candy right there.
SPOILER!!: Sander

"Well let's see, usually a non-prefect person would not mention the special compartment set aside for prefects because they, in their right mind, would be planning on crashing it because they wouldn't think that the compartment was just exclusive to those wearing badges." Sander gave his version of I know you are a prefect because you protest too much explanation.
"So there are hidden passages but you just don't want to say where it is because as a Prefect you would want your own place to hide out and be able to misbehave. Am I right?" Sander grinned widely.
He made a mental note to himself that he was going to stalk this Lex this term because whether she wanted to admit it or not, she DID know where the secret passages were and would undoubtedly seek them out eventually.
"Well then Lex, it's nice to meet you. Okay, I guess you must know everyone in your school. Could you introduce me to some of them? You know so that I don't have to keep bothering you?" Sander asked the younger girl.
Okay he did sound desperate asking a younger girl to introduce her friends to him. But hey it was going to be a long year at Hogwarts and he knew that he needed to make some, especially since Sydney was going back home and most probably he wouldn't be seeing her again.
Thank goodness he still had his bestie, Calisto. Sander looked around hoping that he would spot her among the growing crowd of kids coming on to the platform.
Sander's explanation turned her attention back from Bart and his sugar quill offering.
What...? "Hogwash." She retorted. "We all know the compartment's off-limits and aren't all trouble makers planning to stick our noses where they don't belong." Too many goody-two shoes here for that to happen. "I've always known it's off-limits and tell people as much, this wouldn't be my first year doing so." So nope. Not a Prefect. Just watching out for the welfare of an obviously new student.
She cringed as he emphasized the Prefect thing again. Oi. Couldn't he knock it off? "You're not right. I'm not telling you about them because it's cooler to stumble on them by accident. That's how I found them and I liked the experience. Figure you would too." Plus, she couldn't exactly go encouraging him to go skulking around. It was considered bad form now, or something.
Lex was still recovering from his constant assumptions when he went into another one. This one she could agree with, but only because it was true not that the prefect one wasn't true but faulty logic. "I guess you could say I do, the platform's not the best place to go about that though so maybe when the train pulls out?" Would that work? He wasn't in some tremendous rush was he? Because Lex worked on her own time, always.
Now honestly, where were her besties?

He didn't even know she was there until she spoke. To him? Really? "Uhh. Hi?" ?!?! He wasn't looking in a mirror. Ohhhh, okay, she was asking for help. Well, he supposed he should be polite then, considering he was a Prefect and all.
Had he really almost forgotten his status? Where was his badge?!!!?
"I usually keep mine with me." He didn't THINK there was anywhere to put them... "Most of the compartments have a luggage rack, though." Theo offered her a smile, then resumed the whole looking over the top of her head thing.

He certainly did not remember seeing the kid around before. Or maybe he was not as observant as he thought.
"Hello, there,'' Adi said. "What's up? Are you new here?'' It was best to get that out of the way. He looked at the owl. He himself would have had one otherwise if he had not convinced his mother otherwise. "What's his name?'' And speaking of names. "I'm Aditya Rehman but you can call me Adi.''
Ben was aware of the ebb and flow of activity around him, the bunches of both students and parents making their way onto the platform to await the packing and departure of the Hogwarts Express. However he hadn't been aware that he had caught the attention of another student until said student had spoken and made his presence known. "Hi," he said, returning the other boy's greeting and shaking his head at the question. "Nope...this will be my second year."
"Conrad." The bird's ear tufts perking up as if noticing he was being talked about with the mention of his name. Ben himself absently reach over to give the owl a friendly scratch. "And I'm Benjamin Atreyu, though Ben seems to be the preferred choice of people."

Grace real;y hoped that this guy wasn't going to like tell her to go away. It wouldn't be very nice. Because she was only a little first year, and he looked really big. She smiled though. Her mother said she had a nice smile, so hopefully that would make this boy want to help her. He looked very nice. When he wasn't looking in the train window like it was a mirror anyway. Maybe she should put him on her snog list. Although it was kind of getting long. She would have to consult with her best friends first.
"Oh..." Did that mean that she had to cart around her trunk till she got on the train. "I should have left it with my Dad...." She groaned, glancing back at her trunk. "It's really heavy... I think I packed too much..."

Nope, still no sign of his two Slytherin buds. Theo looked back down at the little girl who was smiling and stuff. Making him uncomfortable, and stuff. But he smiled back anyway. He was being far too friendly. Ohhhhhhhh, her trunk was too heavy, huh? "I can... carry it in for you, if you want." Because he had to use these epic ABS for something, you know.
......
Don't think about flexing them, Theo. She was a first year.
Well, he would make sure first, of course. "Your first year at Hogwarts, is it?" He asked casually. He definitely hadn't seen her around before, but he really didn't pay much attention to people, so... Theo parked his butt on the top of his trunk and sort of glared at the train. 'Cause he wanted to get on.

He wanted to carry her trunk? Big boy who was pretty wanted to carry her trunk. She didn't know. What if he like ran off with it. Ahh. That was when she remembered something. Her father had been meaning to shrink it for her, so that she could just put it into her pocket. But she hadn't even given him time to do that. "Oooh...." She nodded, looking up at the boy. "You could shrink it for me? My dad was gonna...but he forgot." Because he was silly. But hopefully this boy could. But then she'd have to find someone to unshrink it later. She would think about that later.
Oh. He was talking again now. She nodded, a big smile on her face. "Yes... though I know all about it! My best friend's mom used to work there." But that was ages ago. Ages and Ages. So this boy didn't know her probably. "I can't wait though! I'm so excited!"

Lana was late! Well, running late at least and she wasn't at all too pleased with herself at the moment. Of all days for her to oversleep, it would be this one. All week, she had planned and planned for what was to happen this morning and she overslept!
She just hoped that she hadn't missed them. Promises were meant to be kept and she wasn't about to start her final year with a broken promise. Her whole summer was full of them and it wasn't what she wanted this school year to be full of.
Lana stopped for a moment and craned her head. She had made a mad dash the moment she knew that she had overslept and thanked Merlin that she had everything she needed packed and ready the night before. All her things were ready for her trip to King's Cross. Well, maybe not completely everything. She might have forgotten to lay out something more lady-like to wear to the station, but she was in a hurry.
She knew that she looked a bit like a loon in her outfit and her trainers, but she needed to run and flats were not an option at the moment. She had places to be and she needed to bid her parents good-bye before she left for another year. It was already bad enough in their opinion that she hadn't spent the summer with them.
There were adventures to be had and she had left with promises of only being gone for a few weeks. Yet as the weeks turned into months, she finally wrote and she made the promise to see them at the platform. There needed to be a united front on this day for her. They weren't the family they once were seven years ago, but there was still a part of her that wanted to pretend everything was still okay.
Glancing up and down the platform, she desperately searched for any sign of her family.

SHRINK IT?
Who did she think he was? MERLIN? Theo didn't know how to shrink things.
"Uhhhh..." He paused and thought long and hard, in and out of all of his magicking knowledge. Shrinking, shrinking, shrinking. Nope. "They don't teach that until seventh year." Lies, lies, lies. Theo shrugged, "I'm only a sixth year." Did she want him to carry her trunk or not? He was doing a GOOD DEED here.
Gosh, she was excited. Theo wished he could be excited too but he really wasn't. "It's school. Why are you so excited?" Yeaaaaaah, that's it, Theodore. Bring the good spirits right down to where you are comfortable.

"Not till Seventh year?" Gracie groaned, staring at the older boy. "SO I have to drag this thing along for another seven years?!" That was not good at all. Because she was so little. Maybe she should let him carry it for her. "Oh... I thought you were older than me. You look older." ALthough her mom was old and she was tiny, so that didn't work out too well. She smiled though. Maybe she'd go and find her dad and get him to shrink it for her. Or find herself a seventh year.
She raised an eyebrow, before shaking her head. "It's hogwarts! Of course I'm excited." Maybe it would change when she got there, but she really doubted that. She'd waited so long to that.

Ahem.
"Nope." Nope, she had a whole seven years to go before she learned a simple shrinking charm. "I mean... you could teach yourself if you read a book or something." Theo shrugged. Yes, that was a good save. Reading books wasn't cool, so he was totally fine with making it obvious that he didn't read them.
Theo snorted a tiny bit. "Still boring, apart from the Quidditch." He supposed the magic was cool, too, but he just wasn't good at it, even after all this time. Just take one look at his OWL results.
*SHUUUUUDDER*
"I'm Theodore, by the way. I'm a prefect." Did he really just say that?

Her eyes widened, and she frowned. And frowned some more. She didn't like the sound of that. "Oh. I ain't got no time for that." Of course she hadn't. She had all the actual stuff that she had to learn. So she would clearly have to wait until Seventh year. Or maybe she could just get someone to carry it for her. She liked the sound of that. Though maybe not this boy. Grace didn't know if this guy really wanted to carry it.
"Quidditch! I love quidditch!" She wanted her own broom. But her mom had said no. Because she didn't need one, and she couldn't have one until she was a second year anyway. But she wanted one. "I wanna try out for the team." And hopefully she would make it. Because she liked the sound of that.
"Ooh... that's cool." That meant he had to be good right? "I'm Grace."

Theo couldn't help but grin. It was a GOOD thing that she wasn't a bookworm, because it seemed like everyone else at Hogwarts was. "Me either." Why was he talking to a first year again? Theo stopped smiling as soon as this thought crossed his mind.
OOOH... OOH.
"You do? Quidditch at Hogwarts is the best. This'll be my sixth year playing." If he made the team, of course. But come on... he always made the team. "Have you played before?" You know, just in case she got sorted into Slytherin. He needed the DEETZ.
"Hi." He said goofily, if that was even a word.

Ah. So it seemed his observation skills needed some more sharpening. Adi cautiously lifted his hat up from his eyes and squinted around. Awesome. The light wasn't too bad and his eyes didn't hurt much now. He turned his attention back to the boy. "I'm second year too,'' he said with a grin. "First year practically flew by, huh?'' To Adi it had. One moment he was being Sorted and the next he was on the train heading back home.
He bent down so he was at eye level with Conrad. "Hiya, Conrad!'' Adi grinned at the owl. "Hooooo!'' Yep. That was his hoot. Could he scratch the owl too? "It's good to meet you, Ben. What House are you in?'' The second year stretched his hand out and scratched Conrad just as Gus poked his head out of Adi's pants pocket. "Gus wanna see the owl, too?'' He held his toad out in front of Conrad's cage. "Gus this is Conrad. Conrad, this is Gus.'' Hehe. They could be friends.

Sander almost laughed out loud when he saw her cringe at the mention of the word PREFECT and decided to give her a break. He suspected that she was still getting used to the idea of being made one.
O_o maybe she's one of those troublemakers that she just talked about and is now sad that she can't be one because of her responsibilities now.
"Right I'll just happily stumble into them eventually and if I do see you there, I'll just figure that you accidentally stumbled on them at the same time." he grinned at her.
Oh he was soooooo stalking her.
"You know what I think you're right about the meeting people part. I do have a whole year to meet them. What's the rush? I just figured I'd pass the time away chatting with someone until the train arrived." Sander agreed with the younger girl.
So....now...awkward time....what was he supposed to do next?
Sander just sat down on his trunk and absently looked around.
....then he had an idea....Maybe if he stuck his feet out whenever someone walked by, he'd act like it was an accident and then he would have another person to chat with.

Christmas was walking down the platform knowing that it would be best to sit at the back of the train and she sighed going into her last year would be awkward but she was going to have to try her hardest this year to do well and hope for the best she was still on the lookout for any of her friends when she saw a guy around the same age as her sitting on his trunk she put her trunk and owl cage down and said "You look rather lonely" That was how Christmas felt at this moment

Hey here comes a girl....get ready to stick out your foot. But wait he didn't even have to trip her to get her attention because, she stopped all on her own.
Lonely...did he really look like he was....of course he was alone.
"Lonely? More like alone. I hate getting transferred when I only have just this term to get through. Makes it hard to make friends. What about you? You don't look like a transfer. Guess you got here earlier than your friends did." Sander looked around the platform.
Who was he looking for? He laughed. He didn't know who her friends were.
"Well you're more than welcome to hang out with me until your friends come. I would love the company." Sander smiled up belatedly realizing that he was still sitting down while she was standing.
"Would you like to share my trunk to sit on?" he offered politely.

Christmas smiled at the boy and said "Yeah it is hard and me i am not a transfer i was years ago but that was my fourth year and yeah i guess that i did get here earlier than my friends and i wouldn't mind sharing your trunk to sit on it saves me getting in the way and i am Christmas by the way i am a gryffindor at Hogwarts"
So she was here, Adeline was still shocked about being a seventh year. Adeline looked around the platform, she felt happy to be here but sad at the same time. This time next year she would be God knows where, the Hufflepuff hoped to be furthering her education…hopefully. Adeline walked down the South End of the Platform, she looked around, maybe one of her friends would be around there somewhere. Adeline was nervous about this term, she hadn’t been to Hogwarts since the end of her fourth year, she wondered if some people or professors would remember her.
She knew that her mind would flood with memories of the past and she hoped that they were all the good ones, no need for the sad time just the good times. She was very much read for this term, she knew what she wanted to do with her life once she leaves Hogwarts, she can't want to be an adult and have her own place to live in but right now she has to go on the other side of the wall. Adeline didn't want to go to the other side yet, she wanted to just relive some of the memories of four now five terms of seeing being right here.

The ravenclaw looked like a girl. She didn’t walk like a girl. She was walking like a pregnant duck. Or well she looked like a duck at the least, heels and Amelia together as well as potato chips and ice cream. Cringing at the concept and kept walking (waddle walking).
A few steps more and well she didn’t even have to be tripped to help Sander out. Because he had sort of been there when she reached out and grabbed onto something. It was after all his arm that she had latched onto.
“Sorry” she gulped, as she stood up and glanced at PDA-boy. Oh, it was him. “Sa…” she paused almost forgetting his named again, for the millionth time. “Sander.” She grinned at half her normal level, partly from the sort of pain in her heel…and also because she was clinging onto someone and didn’t want Kaiden to see.

This whole situation was a weird one. From having to walk through that wall to get to the platform, to the fact that he was actually early for something for once, if the people milling about were any indication. Then, of course, there was the fact that he had ended up on the end with all the younger students. Not what he needed for his first time going to this place.
But finally, Brad managed to find his way to the students his age. Phew. The first person ran into looked like she was deep in thought. He stood and observed her for a moment before speaking up. "Something troubling you?" he asked with a friendly smile.

... but Nik-errr... Father, had insisted... on behalf of mother no doubt.
The servants had gotten everything she needed for this... school, except a pet. Mother didn't want her to have a pet. You cut open a kruppy once to see how he works inside, and you are labeled an animal hater. Whatev!
She smiled sweetly and waved at her mother, sister and brothers. Maybe this wouldn't be too bad... she would certainly enjoy not having them around all the time.
Sophie had lost her brother. Again.
Why was it that once they got to school, he became this stranger that she only saw during classes? Oh, well. She'd find him. When she needed him for something, that is. As she walked along, sort of aimlessly without a cause, she took notice of the fact that her new kneazle was following her around.
UGH.
Why had she adopted a new pet anyway? Now she had to actually take care of someone other than herself. She should make Caleb feed it and clean up after it. She paused and glanced around the platform, just in case Caleb was around. She needed to let him know of his new duties and see if he'd let Nox ride the train with him.
Sophie happened to glance next to her and saw some girl waving sweetly toward her parents. Aww. What a Hufflepuff. "Excuse me. Do you want a kneazle?" she randomly asked. Because Sophie was thinking about giving hers away.
