Avalon Eloise Sinclair was born to pureblood Theodore Sinclair (of London, England) and muggle-born Madeleine Sinclair (of Cannes, France) on March 13, 2087 in the small village of Ashwell, Hertfordshire, England. Her parents had spent the last several years traveling for Theodore's job in the Department of International Magical Cooperation at the Ministry of Magic, so they were looking forward to settling down for good with their family in the United Kingdom. Avalon enjoyed growing up in the countryside - she had plenty of room to run and play with her siblings, Archer and Amelia. She attended St. Woboldo's Primary Wizarding School in London, where she excelled in most of her subjects. When Avalon was seven years old, the Sinclair family relocated to Notting Hill to be closer to Madeleine's new job as a journalist and photographer for a wizarding world fashion magazine. Living in one of the trendiest neighborhoods in London had its perks for Avalon - she developed a keen sense for fashion and beauty (thanks to her mother's expertise) and made friends with some of the most affluent muggle children in all of London. However, she soon realized that money wasn't everything, and she developed a firm opposition to the pretentiousness of the wealthy muggle families. She also grew weary of having to hide her family's magical abilities. After all, because they lived in a primarily muggle neighborhood, the Sinclairs could only practice magic behind closed doors. Avalon itched to let her magic free, and one day, at the ripe young age of 9, she stole one of her older brother's broomsticks. She made it about 14 feet off the ground before losing control and crashing back down into the Sinclair's backyard. After a broken wrist, an obliviate charm to the three muggles who happened to see her, and a stern punishment from her parents, Avalon knew she couldn't let her magic loose anymore, so she waited somewhat impatiently to come of age to attend secondary wizarding school. She was ecstatic to receive her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts. Her father attended Hogwarts back in the day as a Gryffindor, and as the first of the Sinclair offspring to attend, she couldn't wait to tell her siblings all about her adventures.

Avalon had a very successful first year at Hogwarts. After being sorted into Ravenclaw house, she immersed herself into her studies. She quickly found out that she didn't love Potions class as much as she expected. To her disappointment, she didn't share her siblings' potion-making talents. However, the young Ravenclaw discovered that she had a particular knack for Transfiguration. Avalon tried out for the Quidditch team, and to her delight, made the house roster as a chaser. She looked forward to practices every week, and although it was difficult at times to manage the sport, her social life, and her studies, she ended the year as the second top point-earner for Ravenclaw house.

Because of the mist situation at Hogwarts, Avalon (along with her classmates and professors) relocated to Beauxbatons for her second year of school. She was quite excited to see the school that her sister Amelia called home. As a Ravenclaw student, she shared a common room with Ombrelune House. Avalon was relieved that her classes were relatively the same as they had been at Hogwarts, with the exception of Care of Magical Creatures. However, she was quite disappointed that Quidditch was suspended until further notice, and she quickly learned that the French students weren't as welcoming as she imagined they would be. Instead of flying practice, she filled her spare time with wandering around the grounds, which proved to be a fulfilling pasttime until she fell victim to a particularly nasty sticking charm in one of the corridors. In spite of the drama that ensued at Beauxbatons, Avalon ended the year tied for the top point-earner for Ravenclaw. She was extremely relieved to hear that they could return to Hogwarts for the next term.

Avalon's third year was pretty uneventful except for the portraits of the Hogwarts founders basically taking over the school. As it was another year without Quidditch, she was forced to come up with some new hobbies, so she decided to take up fashion design in her spare time. One of her fondest memories from the year was attending the Halloween party in a phoenix-inspired dress that she had designed and transfigured for herself, thanks to some help from Professor Eris. She also spent quite a lot of time studying up on Potions, as she was determined to improve her skills. Her dedication was successful, and while she definitely wasn't the best potion-maker in the school, she had improved remarkably. She ended the year again as one of the top point-earners for Ravenclaw house.
Text Cut: Year 4
Year 4 started out great for Avalon. She made plenty of new friends, excelled at most of her classes (she even made it through the first disastrous Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson of the term relatively unscathed - with bragging rights for successfully bridling a kelpie), and had time to dedicate to her fashion design and sewing projects. Although she failed miserably at taming a kneazle in Care of Magical Creatures, Avalon continued to improve her potion-making and ancient runes skills. She was even introduced to the wonderful world of jazzercise thanks to Professor Schmoe. But leave it to a magical weather phenomenon to turn things upside down. Just before Halloween, the Ravenclaw encountered a mysterious weather reporter lurking near the front gates. (To this day, she is astounded that she didn't lose any house points for accidentally bringing a stranger into the castle.) It was difficult to make it through the rest of the term without magic and a functioning memory, not to mention that she had to wear nearly five times as much blush to bring some much-needed color to her increasingly translucent cheeks. Despite temporarily forgetting all of her professors' names and basically everything that happened to her, Avalon ended the year on a high note: passing her exams with the highest marks, earning lots of points for Ravenclaw, and helping her professors and classmates restore magic at Hogwarts.
Text Cut: Year 5
Avalon was beyond excited when a Hogwarts owl arrived at her home over the summer holiday with a prefect badge in tow. She enthusiastically accepted and was thrilled about her newfound student leadership status. For the first time, she got to ride in the prefects' compartment on the Hogwarts Express and use the prefects' bathroom. Unfortunately, her term didn't start out as wonderful as she had expected, as she received her first-ever detention after Defense Against the Dark Arts. (Which, if she may add, was not her fault and a completely unfair sentencing.) As the year progressed, she continued studying intensely for her OWLs, all while enjoying the newfound upgrades to Hogwarts like the swimming pool. Things started to get a little hairy when Avalon was possessed by Sylvester, the angry ghost whose treasure had been used to purchase extravagant items for the castle. Sylvester slowly began to take over her mind, at one point sending her to the Forbidden Forest to set the whole thing on fire. Thankfully, the Ravenclaw escaped from the whole thing relatively unscathed, save for some singed hair and burned robes. If she were able to speak to any of the Gryffindors right now that opened that treasure chest earlier in the term, she would exclaim a big "told you so."

From the moment she sat down at the opening feast, Avalon knew it was going to be a tumultuous year. For one, her prefect badge was revoked by Trent-who-actually-turned-out-to-be-Rosier. Then, the whole Neo-Alliance takeover thing, which was less than opportune. Due to her halfblood heritage, she was eventually banished to the dank & dreary Room, where she had to sleep on the floor amongst the spiders and basically never see the light of day unless she was on her way to a lesson. Again, less than opportune. The horrible term got even more horrible when it resulted in a full-blown war. During the battle, Avalon chose to take a stand and fight for Hogwarts. She successfully warded off a clan of Inferi and stunned a couple of Neo-Alliance goons, though the high of the experience was quickly stomped out by the serious concussion she received as a result. And after it all, for some crazy reason, Avalon decided to come back to Hogwarts again for Year 7.

Aloof and firm, Thereos is not a centaur to cross. Despite possessing a pride that puts hippogriffs to shame, Thereos is not the centaur to hold interest in having power over others. Rather he is guided by his principles and reflects upon honor, beauty, morality and virtue when making decisions. His visionary communication style (relying heavily on metaphor, parables, and other flowery language) may be difficult for many to follow but it is almost always well intended and with the motivation of divine harmony. Preferring to make himself appear scarce, Thereos is known drift into thought so deep that some would believe he had drifted into the beyond when in fact he is merely enjoying contemplating the hypothetical and the philosophical.
Much has changed in centaur culture since the Days of Potter, primarily their views on wizard-centaur interactions. While the centuries old prejudices still remain, it is not as paramount. Until he was thirteen years old, Kaiser received no formal education. He did not officially exist in the muggle world and, thanks to his successful evasion of the authorities for so long, was never made to attend school. As such, Kaiser could neither read nor write until arrangements were put in place for him to attend Hogwarts, and he was finally given literacy lessons.
While he is not at all academically gifted, Kaiser possesses other kinds of intelligence. He also has a keen aptitude for learning languages.
Given that Kaiser was so far behind academically and socially, despite it having been arranged for him to move to the UK in early 2095 in order to attend Hogwarts, it was decided that he was not ready to attend straight away. As well as missing out on an entire formative education, Kaiser also did not attend his first or second years at Durmstrang, where he had originally been accepted. His lack of reading and writing skills combined with the absence of academic knowledge convinced officials in charge of his care that he should be tutored privately for another year and a half before starting at Hogwarts, at which point he would join the year below his own age group. This also gave Kaiser the opportunity to settle into his group home in England, and to adjust to his new life.
This extra year and a half out of school was at first concentrated on improving Kaiser’s English skills, including his reading and writing, and then moved onto remedial magical studies. Outside of academic work, Kaiser’s education included social integration with the magical world.
In February of his seventh year, Kaiser transferred from Hogwarts to homeschooling at Stemp House. He finished his schooling here and took his NEWTs at the Ministry of Magic.

Pre-Hogwarts (December 2081 - August 2096)
Born unexpectedly on New Year’s Eve to a German pureblood witch in Italy with no fixed address, Kaiser’s formative years were spent constantly moving from place to place around Europe. His mother, Aurora Kaiser, loved her son with all of her heart, and did what she could to provide for him. When Kaiser was five years old, while living in Berlin, he witnessed the death of his mother, and was left by himself.
While not totally alone - he had the assistance of his mother’s friend Nikolai to see him through the worst times, though Nikolai was also homeless - Kaiser quickly learned to fend for himself. He grew up on the streets, sticking with a community of other street kids but eventually striking out from them. From time to time he travelled to other places with Nikolai, though for the most part, he kept his own company.
Around the time of his eleventh birthday, Kaiser was located by a social worker from the wizarding world who informed him of his magical abilities, and that he was to attend Durmstrang Institute the following school year. She took Kaiser to a wizarding children’s home in Germany where he was expected to stay until the time arrived for him to attend school, but Kaiser ran away. After being returned to the children’s home and running away several more times, Kaiser figured out that it was his use of magic that alerted his social worker to his whereabouts and took what measures he could to avoid this. Unsure what to think about apparently being a wizard, Kaiser searched for Nikolai to find out more about his mother, but Nikolai had disappeared.
For the next couple of years, Kaiser managed to evade the authorities and his social worker, employing his natural ability to stay hidden, but in early 2095, after a series of pivotal events, they finally caught up to him again. Now tired of living life on the streets, Kaiser finally agreed to go to a foster family in Germany and not run away. It was later agreed that Kaiser would attend Hogwarts rather than Durmstrang, necessitating a move to the UK. Within weeks, Kaiser had been moved to a muggle children’s home in Manchester, England - one that had had magical children live there in the past - where he was to spend the next year and a half being homeschooled. He was taught to read and write, and given remedial lessons by a private tutor in order to start catching up on all the magical schooling he had missed. During his year or so of being homeschooled, once he had learned to read and write, Kaiser covered the two first years of magical education. In September 2096, Kaiser started at Hogwarts, though he was held back and started as a third year.

Third Year (January 2098 - August 2098) After her mother found her father with another woman, Nina was forced to leave Beuxbatons behind in the middle of the term, when she was made to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Nina Castillo hated everything about the castle. She hated the food. She hated the people. She hated the changes. She hated that her Common Room was in the dungeons. But most of all, she hated having to start over. During her first night at the new school, Nina cried herself to sleep, waking the other girl’s in the dormitory and earning herself the nickname ‘crybaby’. The rest of the year followed a similar pattern, the girls in her dormitory continued to make fun of her, Eloise and Karlin even setting her bed on fire. Nina received her first kiss this summer, a kiss which she had been anticipating for as long as she could remember. Unfortunately, she chose to kiss Keenan Burton, who was not very kind about it at all!
Fourth Year (September 2098 - August 2099) Despite her initial hatred for the school, Hogwarts had grown on her and she was looking forward to returning to the school in the fall, especially because her best friend, Navid Asadi, was transferring in from Beauxbatons. Unfortunately, the ridicule she faced in the dormitory last year did not subside. This year, Eloise and Co™ stepped it up a notch, soaking Nina's bed with water and leaving her with a custard filled pillow. The hazing followed her throughout the year, but there were also plenty of exciting moments as well including her "skateboarding lessons" with an older boy (Beau Montague), which turned out to be snogging sessions under a guise. She had also grown quite familiar with Calloway Bennigan this year, who took issue with Beau during a Halloween Party hosted by Aaron Botros and Jolie Chosen. And that is when Nina Castillo learned that having boys fight over you is not at all romantic. This was also the year of the legendary #lettergate in which Calyx Morgan-Bott sent anonymous love letters to both Nina Castillo and Eloise Fairfield. Somehow, Nina ended up with both letters. An! Ordeal! Another unfortunately memorable moment this year was that of the Hogwarts' boggart invasion. While nearly drowning in the boathouse water alongside Eiji Rasting and Trinnetta Gladin was absolutely terrifying, it taught them all a very important lesson: Trinetta is never to be trusted with an oar. With the entire school being uprooted and moved to Hogsmeade, Nina's diary fell into the wrong hands... And Eloise Fairfield ahd spilled some of the confidential notes to someone who definitely was not meant to read them. In terms of her coursework, several of Nina's Professors had noticed her strange behavior in class and the inconsistency between that and her homework assignments and her exams. With this in mind, she was made to have several meetings with Professors and was given many warnings in regards to her participation. After the exhausting events of this year, Nina was quite glad to be going home for the summer, but her train ride home brought on yet another surprise in the name of Calyx Morgan-Bott. Nina's summer had been one of absolute misery. While she had been away from school, her parents had gone through with a divorce. Navid Asadi's presence was a great deal of help during this time, as was her day showing Calyx Morgan-Bott around her hometown.
Fifth Year (September 2099 - August 2100) When it was finally announced that Hogwarts' students would be taken in by Beauxbatons this school year, Nina could not think of anything worse. She dreaded the merge of the two schools, something she and Eiji Rasting could bond over. Nina chose to make herself scarce around the castle, instead focusing entirely on her studies and upcoming OWLs. She began to raise her grades within classes and received only top scores. She had managed to avoid all the drama, until it was announced that there would be a Valentine's Ball. When Calloway asked her to the ball, Nina immediately froze. As she entered the winter holiday, her mind was entirely distracted. The only moment she truly had to herself was when she went to the Morgan-Bott household for a dress fitting, after which she spent some time with Calyx. Calyx had prepared an elaborate picnic in the greenhouse and by the end of the day, Nina had a boyfriend (!!). Upon coming back to school, Nina broke the news to Calloway who did not take it well at all. The two did not talk to one another for several weeks, almost damaging Nina's new friendship with Lenora Bell. Things sifted over with Calloway, only to be made awkward by Becky Rasting's match-making service for the ball. Another notable moment was receiving a detention in Professor Sissay's classroom during an exam, all thanks to Adrian Navarro and Manaaki Jæger. /Boys/. During one of her study sessions with Calyx after one of these detentions (and a long time picking the words apart), Nina finally returned Calyx's 'I love you'. Towards the end of the term, things started to look up for the Slytherin and she thoroughly enjoyed the end-of-the-term ball with Lenora, Calyx, and all of her other friends. With summer approaching, there were many things to look forward to. Nina had been invited by Calyx to attend the wedding of Charlotte Kettleburn and Henry Whittebrook, she had obtained an internship at the Ministry of Magic's Department of Mysteries, and a weekend visit to Paris with Indigo Rousseau. She was quite aware, however, that the end of the term meant leaving Navid Asadi, and his absence would take a far greater toll on her than she could've imagined.
Sixth Year (September 2100 - August 2101)
Nina was relieved to return back to Hogwarts, eager to see her friends and reconnect after the busy summer holiday. Her only qualm in returning was the absence of Navid Asadi. She wrote to him almost daily, but it still took a mighty toll on her heart. Jolie Chosen was another friend who did not return to Hogwarts this year and Nina found herself at a loss when in need of someone to receive advice from. Eventually she found this person (and an older sister figure) in Mackenzie Motts, who she had grown quite fond of over the course of the summer internship they had done together months prior. Nina was otherwise in high spirits for the majority of the term, making her year quite that of a contrast to that of her friend, Eiji Rasting's. Nina spent a lot of time with Eiji, being the one he came to speak to when he needed someone to listen. She did the same for Lenora Bell too, though after sometime she and Calloway Bennigan did decide to have an intervention for their friend. Alongside time spent with friends, Nina spent the large majority of her time with Calyx Morgan-Bott, who always sought opportunities to give her mind a peaceful break. On one of these occasions at the beginning of the term, he set up an elaborate picnic and even cooked paella on his own with the help of elves! Nina, unfortunately, served a few more detentions this term with Manaaki Jæger, who Eloise rightfully assumed had a crush on Neen. Even though things were going seemingly well, the stress of school work took a toll on Nina when Professor Schmoe revealed the Long Term Assignment for the year. Feeling uncomfortable, Nina suggested to Calyx that they should choose other partners for the project and this resulted in their first (and very public) fight in the Great Hall. Despite the stares (and all the egging on) by witnesses, the argument quickly fizzled and Calyx agreed to take another partner for the assignment. Over the winter holiday, Nina went back to Alicante, Spain. She liked to keep her homelife and her school life separate, but for the first time she decided to invite Calloway over to her home. On the occasion of her one year anniversary with Calyx, she invited him over to spend the night while her mother was away. She learned many things during this visit, one of which was the difficulty in building a blanket fort. The return to Hogwarts was pleasant and included a girl's night with Lenora and planning for when Calyx's family would meet Nina's mother over the upcoming Easter holiday. Aside from this, Nina kept herself busy with her studies, only taking a night off when Manaaki dragged her out of her dormitory to go to a party thrown by a younger year (Spencer Muldoon, ew). This night brought about many firsts and ended in a strange, unlikely bonding moment with Missa Renaldi. As the year came to an end, Nina decided not to send in her applications for WU London Campus' summer program because she could not perfect her application and felt it shameful to turn in what she had, despite her tireless revisions. The end of the term approached far faster than she would have liked and the final feast was difficult as it meant her friends would be graduating (Drewett Gunter, Frederick Walker, Mackenzie Motts, Gunnar McCarthy, and Evan Eastwood), coupled with the frustrating antics of Trinetta Gladin. The train ride home was of an equally somber mood, but surprise met her at home when she received a letter outlining her acceptance to the summer program she hadn't applied to. As it turned out, Calyx Morgan-Bott had submitted her applications for her, knowing how badly she wanted to participate in the program. Nina was sure to show him her gratitude during their sailing trips together throughout the summer.
Seventh Year (September 2101 - August 2102)
After a summer filled with many ups (participating in the summer program at London WU, celebrating Calyx's birthday with a weekend boating trip, and hosting Indigo in Spain for the month of June) and many downs (her horrid roommate for the duration of the summer program, Astrid), Nina was ready to go back to Hogwarts come September. She slipped into a compartment occupied by Eiji Rasting and Jina Morin and though it started off as a pleasant trio, it quickly became apparent that Eiji was in a horrid mood. Unfortunately, he decided to take it out on Nina who left the compartment in tears after her friend had taken a pointed jab at her boyfriend. She immediately went to find Calyx and spent the rest of the train ride wrapped in his arms. Despite the torrential downpour that awaited their arrival, Eiji managed to steal Nina away for a chat before they entered the castle and the two were able to make up before the start of the feast. Despite the rocky start to the term, things were relatively calm. She managed to finish her uni applications far ahead of the rest of her peers and mailed in her applications early as to not spend more time revisiting them. Though she spent the term agonizing over the many changes that would come after graduation, she also spent plenty of time worrying that they would disappear forever as a result of the strange storm taking place around them. With some major adjustments to her day-to-day (namely keeping VERY specific accounts of her schedules and thoughts), she was able to make her way through the weeks seamlessly. There were only a few occasions that this was not the case, one being when she wore her fuzzy bunny slippers to Defense Against the Dark Arts and received massive ridicule from her peers (especially Nemsis Upstead). Despite being cut off from magic, communication with some of her dearest friends (Indigo and Navid), and her memory, Nina managed to have an enjoyable year and spent plenty of quality time with her closest friends. With the return of magic, she celebrated the end of the term and her birthday with Calyx-Morgan Bott with a romantic dinner set up in one of the greenhouses, where he proposed to her (& she said yes, of course). During the final feast she managed to have a heartfelt moment with Eiji before Nemesis Upstead soured their moods and forced them to leave the table. But all in all, it was a memorable way to end her time at Hogwarts.

Governed by the sun, Missa Renaldi is dedicated, kind, and determined. Born with a hearing defect, she felt excluded from the world at a very young age. But she was still very loved by her family, especially her father. Quiet, and with very loud thoughts, she struggled into being her own person for the longest time. She felt incomplete compared to everyone else, and that feeling grew more and more as she became older.
Curious by nature, when her hearing was restored - three years or so before Hogwarts, she found herself wanting to know everything - it is, as if, she was and is still constantly afraid that one day she will wake up and not hear anything again. So, even though at first school was difficult, talking was difficult, she pushed herself - and slowly but surely, made things easier and less scary for herself. She made friends, and became more vocal. Hogwarts became the first place she found her voice at, and so it became a home - despite the drama, the danger.
Though she may seem the grounded kind, often times she feels entirely the opposite - doubting her actions and wondering if she should be doing more than she was at the moment. She constantly demands more from herself. Because deep in her heart, she knows, there is more, always more in the world.

Born to Millicent Walsh on a cold day in 2082. It wasn’t that Aurelia was unwanted or unloved, but Millie was a single mother who had been artificially inseminated. She was grateful for the healthy baby girl, but in 2090, when Aurelia was just 8 years old, Millie had an inventing accident on Halloween 2090 which sent her spiraling to St Mungos. Millie’s parents were unable to care for Aurelia and unable to get in contact with her half sister, Katrina LaGlacier whom was a curse breaker in Egypt, Aurelia was sent to the Stemp House for care.
Like most eleven year old witches, Maeve received her Hogwarts Acceptance Letter in January 2093 and eagerly awaited the summer for when she could get her supplies and then September for sorting. She made quick friends with several people in her year and house, such as Anna Meriwether and Chase Spenley. Her Hogwarts journey had begun.

Personality & History
Carmine was raised by her grandmother from age 3-17. She doesn't recall her life before age three, but her grandmother had a lasting impact on her life. When her grandmother died, Carmine even changed her surname to honour her grandmother (she chose her grandmother's first name rather than her surname as her grandmother's surname was her married name and thus Carmine did not feel it particularly honoured Beryl herself). As a result of her upbringing and being on her own from age seventeen, Carmine has always been very independent-minded, but she's also compassionate and a nurturer by nature.
Upon finishing Hogwarts (a former Ravenclaw, though she prefers not to mention this, since she would rather not have preconceived notions of her school house put on her by others now that she is an adult), Carmine undertook healer studies with a specialisation in runic healing. She met Jerome Alvey fairly young, and the two got married and have two grown children together. Outwardly, around anyone she doesn’t know, Delilah is warm, soft, and so very friendly. She’s poised and every little movement has great thought behind it but is always smooth and graceful. On October twenty second of the year two thousand and eighty two, a beautiful baby girl was born to Vincent Biala and Malaya Gonzaga. They were less than thrilled. So much so, that a nurse granted the child her name. A baby was not in the cards, you see, as they could barely support themselves. Money was short, food was short, bills weren’t paid, the debts continued to pile.
Once Delilah was two, her parent’s discovered, what they would call, her worth. While shopping one evening on a bonus her mother had collected, a woman stopped them and handed Malaya a business card to look over while she inspected Delilah. Soon after, there were appointments and test photos, headshots and model classes. Delilah was making more money than the two of them by her pretty face alone.
Vincent and Malaya took advantage of this. Greedily, they forced Delilah into photoshoots and small commercials, pulling in money and taking it all for themselves. They could finally feed themselves without counting the coins and moved out of the caravan and into a proper home. Delilah didn’t mind. She’d always been a happy young girl and would do anything to see her parents stop arguing and smile. The more she worked, the more she got the reactions out of them that she’d always wanted, the more she felt part of a proper family. Before long, that became her truth. She was a bright girl, full of smiles, perfect pouts, and flawless skin. The purest girl that ever lived, she couldn’t allow herself to disappoint them. Not ever. Unfortunately, no one ever told her that being perfect was so exhausting…
Life was great, life was grand, all until Delilah turned eleven. On that day, the Biala’s would lose their precious moneymaker to a foreign school. From there on, the man and woman scrambled to submit their daughter to as many casting calls as they could. But it wouldn’t be enough. Not only were they losing months of potential income to a school they didn’t understand, but she was growing in age and losing out to younger kids. Before long, the pair couldn’t stand it. They could no longer afford to pay for their home, their new precious lifestyle and a rash decision was made during the summer after Delilah’s fourth year. She was dumped at Stemp House with a trunk and a promise to return to her after a mummies and daddies only vacation.
But they’d never return.
»S C H O O L__Y E A R S Years One Through Four [Durmstrang] - Magic was everything Delilah hoped. Home was tiring and busy and her parents worked her to the bone, but she never complained. All she ever wanted to do was please them. But at Durmstrang, away from their talons, she shrunk away from everyone, that open friendly exterior melted away. She didn’t know who to be without their instruction, without their watchful eyes. She found herself holed up in the library reading everything and anything she could get her hands on. Tales of princes and princesses, love, adventures to far away lands and so many things that she could only ever find in books. It was all so different from her reality. Letters were sent home about her unusual behavior, how days would go by without anyone seeing her and soon she realized that even there, she had to plaster the facade back on. Perfect. Smiling. Sociable.
Every summer she’d come home and little things were different, things started to go missing around the house. Big important things like televisions, computers, things that could be sold. She started hiding her favorites away in her trunk, her polaroid camera never left her side while home. In her gut, she knew things were getting bad again. But she couldn’t figure out how to fix it.

Personality
Pierson is a very relaxed and easygoing person, but he is also often grumpy. Or at least that’s how he can seem. He can also seem slightly disorganized, but he knows where everything is. He generally gets along with most people he meets, but can often be judgemental. To some, Pierson may not seem like the typical, stereotypical Slytherin, but his house will always be his home and where he is most comfortable. Although sometimes reserved, Pierson can open up to someone who proves to be trustworthy and genuine, but his trust has been broken before and is not easily obtained.
History Lesson
Pierson was born and raised in Anglet, France. A few months after Pierson’s eighth birthday, his parents announced that they would be getting divorced. While his mother stayed in France, her homeland, Pierson’s father took him back to England, his homeland. Piers was able to visit his mother in France often.
Once the time came, Piers went to Hogwarts and was sorted into Slytherin. While at Hogwarts, he made good friends, joined the gobstones club and played as a beater on the Slytherin Quidditch team. He got in trouble for the occasional prank played on Hufflepuffs, of course. Many of his friends suggested Piers should be a Ravenclaw because of his good grades, but he always felt that he didn’t fit in anywhere else but Slytherin. While at Hogwarts, Pierson excelled in Charms, Transfiguration, and Defense Against the Dark Arts. He also enjoyed Astronomy and Care of Magical Creatures.

Text Cut: The LONG story
After Hogwarts, Piers attended Wizarding University in Edinburgh, Scotland and studied Advanced Transfiguration for two years. He then changed his focus to Advanced Charms and traveled abroad to the Wizarding University in Athens, Greece to finish his studies. He also spent a couple years learning about secondary wizarding education.
Piers fell in love with Athens. He loved the culture, the people, the atmosphere and the school. While he studied, he also fell in love with a young woman by the name of Alexandria. They dated for two years before he asked her to marry him in 2072.
In 2073 Pierson was hired at the Athens Wizarding University to teach a night Kwikspell course. It was such a success that he taught three Kwikspell courses the following year, as well as Advanced Charms. Pierson continued to teach alongside his wife, Alexandria, who taught Advanced Transfiguration on the floor above for six years.
For those six years, Pierson and Alexandria, despite their efforts, were unable to have children. After some treatment and counseling, Alex finally got pregnant near the end of 2080. After a couple months of health and success, it started to seem like a healthy baby was really possible. They named her Amanda. On January 2, 2081, Piers and Alex received the news that they had lost the baby. The news tore them to pieces and tore them apart, emotionally and physically. Months later, their marriage was in shambles and Alexandria called for a divorce that was finalized in May.. Although he tried to keep it together, Pierson was a wreck by the end of the school year.
The summer following the divorce, Pierson quit his teaching job in Athens and moved to Brighton, England for a change of scenery. The familiar cold air cleared his head enough for him to apply to become the Charms professor at Hogwarts. Piers got the job and began teaching in the Fall of 2081.
His second year teaching Charms, Piers was joined by his old friend from his school days, Javier Thompson (better known as Javy), the new Care of Magical Creatures Professor. Piers and Javy’s friendship took off like it never had stopped and he was able to smile again, thanks to his best friend.
The old friendship took a surprising turn when Piers discovered that he had developed feeling for his best friend. Thankfully, Javy had feelings for him too (or else it would have been really awkward). Javy and Piers grew closer and eventually got married on January 1, 2085, the same day they also adopted Tobias Tempus, a student of theirs. Piers continued working as the Charms Professor at Hogwarts until 2085, when he left to prepare their home for a newborn baby.
During his years at Hogwarts, Piers also sort of somewhat-not-actually-but-metaphorically adopted a student of his, Sophie Brown (now Adair because she MARRIED ZANDER). Sophie was one of his favorite students and had lacked a father figure for a significant chunk of her life. Since Piers had once almost had a daughter of his own, he sort of took her in as one. She now frequently sleeps on his couch and eats all his food whenever she feels like it.
Curtis Angelo Fuller-Thompson was born via surrogate on January 29th, 2086. They welcomed their first baby with excitement and open arms. Javy kept working at Hogwarts until 2087 and came home as much as possible to visit his family. Piers remained a stay at home dad until Curtis was big enough to wander around on his own.
Piers opened a big Doggy Daycare on their property in 2090, fulfilling somewhat of a dream of his to be surrounded by dogs. He made that his daytime career until 2096.
Piers’ return as the Hogwarts Charms Professor was requested in 2096, so he returned that Fall to resume his old position while Javy remained at home to homeschool their son, Curtis.
The Short Story
Piers was married to his college sweetheart, but she couldn’t have babies and that was tragic and eventually led to their divorce. Piers was depressed, but moved on (slowly). Piers started teaching at Hogwarts and was reunited with his best friend from school, Javier Thompson, who just so happened to be HOT and, you know, they fell in love, got married, adopted a teenager and had a baby via surrogate and lived happily ever after.
Now Piers works at Hogwarts again and he has a lot of dogs.

HISTORY The exact location of Mitchell’s birth isn’t known, it was somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. He never truly had a permanent fixed address and underwent ‘home-schooling’ before settling down and attending Hogwarts. He never knew his wizard father and grew up an only child with his muggle mother who worked as an entertainer on a cruise ship.

"I was put into Ravenclaw," she answered, looking back at Anna with a vague expression on her face, as if she were remembering those years. "But I could never do magic very well, and yet I was a good student. I could memorize almost anything. That is probably why history of magic became my best subject. It rarely requires brandishing a wand and it involves lots of memorization. Being part goblin, I was also intrigued by the goblin wars. But I always hated the Hat for placing me in Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor. I felt robbed of the chance to ever touch the Sword which I had fallen so much in love with through reading about. On my worst days I felt envy towards all Gryffindor's, for in my mind, the Sword belonged to me just as much as it did to you. Surely the Hat had placed me in Ravenclaw as part of a plot in order to make sure no person with goblin blood ever touched the Sword again, or so I thought back then." Thinking back on it was almost painful, but Alice went on. She had started and she wasn't about to stop mid-story. "I remember in my third year I tried to prove the hat wrong. I visited the headmistress office and begged him to change his mind...but he refused. Later that day I tried to sneak into the Forbidden Forest to prove my bravery. The caretaker caught me before aiI had even started and I was given detention. It was my only detention. Looking back on it now, I have to admit that the real reason I could never be Gryffindor is because I never was that brave. Even on that day in the Forbidden Forest, I was secretly glad that I was prevented from entering. But it was not until I was twenty that I realized it was unlikely that the Sorting Hat plotted against me. And yet, all this time, there is a part of me that still wants to hold the Sword."

---------------- Alice to Anna Meriwether while giving her detention
~Personality~
In her two years teaching at Hogwarts so far, Alice has gained an unpleasant reputation among some of the students and even a few of her fellow professors. While natural that she would have been regarded as slightly more harsh than usual (having previously been a professor at a strict school in Romania), this was made much worse by the presence of Headmaster Julian during her first year. Julian's methods were cruel and over the top, and led to several teachers being fired. Alice was the only professor not hired by the man to remain loyal to him until the day he was fired by the Board of Governors. In this year she gave out two detentions: one to Jessa Cambridge and the other Anna Meriwether. She was also present when Professor Kennedy was fired and would later justify his firing to her class. Alice did stand up to Julian's minions near the end of term when one of them cursed student Jessa Cambridge - who, ironically enough, she had given a detention to just weeks prior. Despite her unwavering loyalty to Julian's order, Alice was disrespected by all of his minions - and even by him near the end.
Next year would be different, or so Alice had told herself. She made amends with Professor Kennedy (the professor whose firing she had been present for and which she had justified) and made efforts to be kinder to the students. Unfortunately, much of her progress would be undone when a horde of seemingly innocent mutant fuzzballs gobbled up Professor Dolly and ran wild through the halls of Hogwarts. Alice's desk had previously been eaten by the creatures and their very presence ruined the sense of order and discipline which she valued so much. Upon the news of Dolly's death, Alice finally snapped. In front of all the students and staff, she screamed about hunting down the mutants and how "THEY ALL MUST DIE!!!!" She got into a heated argument with Professor Tristan and was jumped on by house elf Toddles.
Perhaps this was all inevitable. Alice never really valued non-sentient life, and her sense or order and discipline was always far more strict than her colleagues. Despite all this, Alice does care for the students - and she is friendly with some of her colleagues - like Professor Stewart of Muggle Studies. Are they friends? Maybe, maybe not - but Alice still tries to be nice with her. Alice's favorite person in the castle is Gryffindor Anna Meriwether, who she had given a detention to in her first year at Hogwarts. They bonded during that detention. Alice feels very protective of Anna and is not as strict with her as she is with the others.

From a young age, it was clear that Simran would do well in the sciences. She asked questions incessantly, read books with an appetite to rival the sweet tooth she inherited from her Indian ancestors. Only Jaleebi and Gulab Jamun would succeed in breaking her obsessive acquisition of knowledge when something caught her fancy, something that thrilled both her parents to no end. Academics themselves, they made sure she had every available resource that could have helped her, enrolling her in a school for minds like hers.
She had turned eleven, however, when everything started to change. She had been accepted to Hogwarts. Suddenly, a great many things about her behaviour as a child made sense -- how things would go missing around her, how they would turn up a whole different colour, or how she somehow managed to fling herself off trees and never get injured. Hogwarts, her parents reasoned, would be good for her.
And so she went, but when her parents asked how her lessons were going, and if she was still the top of her science lessons, they were quickly horrified. All the subjects that she had been prepared for had suddenly been replaced with new, foreign subjects. Astronomy quickly became her favourite, although at first because it was the closest thing she had to her previous school subjects.
Despite this, she settled in quickly and adapted well to her new school environment. Even then, she craved the rigour of her previous school. It was decided eventually, between her parents and the then-headmaster of Hogwarts that she would learn the Muggle syllabi in lieu of electives beginning her third year, and graduate Hogwarts with both A-levels and NEWTs.
After Hogwarts, she enrolled at Oxford, in Exeter College. She had barely more free time than she’d had at Hogwarts, but it mattered little to her. She became a social butterfly, finally in her own element. She turned heads at every formal, and the room would quiet every time she piped up in a lesson. Her assertions were bold and she challenged the then-accepted norms at every available opportunity. Her career seemed to fall into her lap once she discovered the slowest-spinning pulsar, and before she even received her doctorate, found herself published in several journals.
She was out celebrating the successful completion of her thesis when she met him. Rishi was at a the same muggle bar she was, close to Diagon Alley, where he had been stationed for Auror work. She bumped into him (literally) on her way back from the washroom, and the rest, as they say, was history. When he had to return to Germany a year later, on the back of a successful long-term op, Rishi asked her to go with him. Always one for leaps of faith, she said yes.
She found a research position at the Max-Planck Institute in Bonn, where they had their first child. Rajbir was the light of their lives, and as they would realise after attempts to conceive a second, destined to be their only. Their time together as a family was cut sadly short right after Rajbir came of age. It was a tratior on the force, turning what should have been a simple in-and-out into what would become a massacre.
Simran was devastated, and couldn’t bear living in Germany any longer. She moved herself and her son back to England, to be closer to her parents. Simran and Rajbir quickly became heavily reliant on each other, and remained extremely close even after Rajbir married his Durmstrang darling, Rheena.
Two children later, Rajbir too died on Auror duty, and Rheena moved in with Simran. They still live together, and both compete on who can dote heavier on Amrita’s daughter, Jasmine.

Ayana attended Uagadou School of Magic as a child, and graduated with top marks across the board, especially in Arithmancy. Her love for numbers took her back to Addis Ababa where she completed her undergraduate degree in Advanced Arithmancy with a minor in Experimental Magic, and then to London for her Master's. She spent several years traveling and learning about Arithmancy at all corners of the world, and her research granted her a spot on the international association of arithmancers. Life began to settle down for her when she was offered an Arithamancy teaching post at her beloved Uagadou, which she eagerly took. She taught at the Mountains of the Moon for six years before moving to Hogwarts, to start another new and exciting chapter in her life.

Ayana was born in the magical sector of Gondar to Fisha Sissay and his wife Salamawit, the youngest child. Her magic appeared late, much later than her parents had assumed, and the community had almost written her off as a squib, for she took much greater interest in muggle subjects such as science and maths than in magical learning. When she turned eleven, on a hot night in November, a dream messenger left a token in her hand and the Sissay's rejoiced. Ayana had been accepted to Uagadou.
Her years spent at the Mountains of the Moon formed the very person she is today. She bloomed at the school, meeting people from far and wide across the continent of Africa and discovering a love for magic in all its forms. By her sixth year Ayana knew what subject she wanted to pursue, more learning and knowledge about the fascinating, ancient, mystical world of Arithmancy. How the numbers, appearing so lifeless and random, could hold such power, such natural, intuitive magic.
Ayana spent four years in Addis Ababa studying Arithmancy, and another three in London. The discovery that Arithmancy is slightly different in every place, in every specialisation, fascinated her. She spent several more years traveling, becoming a member of the International Association of Arithmancers for her research and findings related to the field and its countless possible expansions.
In 2092, when Ayana was fresh off a study on the Arithmancy of Atlantis, Uagadou contacted her. One of their Arithmancy teachers was retiring, and they were looking to hire. Of course she jumped at the opportunity, being single at the time and full of information she couldn't wait to share with the world, she began her tenure as Arithmancy Professor in September. Teaching became an even bigger reward than researching, to see that light in a child's eye when his misconceptions about Arithmancy fall away, when the sheer awe of the subject makes itself known to students. She was in love. She'd discovered her calling.
Ayana had met Grace Quaye during a summer holiday to London a year later, while on a visit to her former colleagues at the university. At the time, Grace had been the wife of a Potions mistress, a woman Ayana knew in passing and did not care to know more. Their affair lasted the summer, but both were reluctant to let go when the school year began and Ayana had to return to Uagadou. Ayana's love life was reduced to coded letters and secret messages in fires until 2094, when Grace finally left her wife. Ayana moved in - as much as anyone can move in when away for months at a time - to Grace's flat in London and the two began their life together along with Grace's daughter, Ife. They brought a child into the world together in early 2097, Grace's second and Ayana's first, a baby boy named Leul.
The owl from Hogwarts had seemed as if destined by the numbers. Her and Grace had been talking about a change, and the request had arrived. For Ayana, it had been a no brainer. She loved Uagadou and always would, it was her home in more ways than one and she had been sad to leave it behind. But Ayana Sissay loved challenges, and Hogwarts was definitely the obvious next step in her life.
Besides, Ayana was curious to see if the stories were true. Hogwarts does have a very unique reputation after all.
HOGWARTS HISTORY
2098-2099 :: Ayana's first term teaching went about as well as she had initally expected. True to wizarding school fashion, an odd and quite terryfing mist began creeping across the school ground. Animals fled and the students and staff had been forced inside the castle in attempts to get as far away from it as possible. By spring, the school had needed to be evacuated and they had all moved into the nearby village of Hogsmeade.
With all that said, it hadn't been the worst of years for Ayana herself. Her students all made excellent progress, some shining brightly in their end of year examinations despite the circumstances, and she'd made some new friends among the Hogwarts staff. She was sad to see a few of them go despite only knowing them for a year or so, but such is the way of life. Some things fall when their time is up; in her case, it's her partnership with Grace. Her reluctance to leave the castle by the end of term only highlighted to Ayana how little she cared for Grace in a way one is supposed to care for the mother of their children. By the end of the 2099 summer, they hadn't yet reached an official decision, and until Christmas rolled around it no longer mattered; it was school time again. look it's a line break

Deeply connected to her roots, and seeing no reason to let them go, Ayana often wears traditional African robes and dresses. Lanky from birth, Ayana stands at 1.79m tall and a digestive condition keeps her almost unnaturally thin. Not to worry, your professor will not collapse during lessons. Regular potion intake suffices her needs. When teaching, Anaya always has her hair pulled back from her face and is dressed in practical, light robes. Her customary jewelry, large golden bands and gemstone earrings are sights one would see outside of the classroom. She is rarely seen without her metallic water bottle, either in her hand or in her robe pocket.
Ayana Sissay is often in a good mood, an optimist by nature and enthusiastic about her life. Her career brings her joy, and teaching is an added bonus she is grateful for every day. (She is less grateful for uninspired homework assignments and students who wrongfully assume her intelligence is equivalent to a snidget's.) Her goal is to stir up enthusiasm in students who would rather be anywhere else than Arithmancy class. Generally in life, Ayana often attempts to infect others with her enthusiasm for life itself. How marvelous are trees? How wondrous is the night sky? The elegance of a simple yet accurate shrinking solution, or the grandness of corporeal patronus.
Her love of travel keeps her well informed on worldly affairs, which she appreciates and will miss during her months at school. Cassidy grew up in a very loving and normal home. Her and her brother Rhett were never without want for anything. Both of their parents coming from magical households, it wasn’t that odd when three year old Cassidy made the household cat levitate. As her mother tried to grab the animal, her father couldn’t help but laugh as the toddler giggled at the site of the levitating feline. As Cassidy got older she couldn’t wait for the day she got her Hogwarts letter. Basically any owl that came from the age of 7 was always checked to see if it carried her new acceptance. The youngest child of six, Tag was raised by his single father and older siblings. His mother is gone and he doesn't want to talk about her.
Tag was born into a Muggle farming family where agriculture and poultry were the names of the game. While his father did the heaviest work, some of Tag's earliest memories are of his siblings complaining about having to help and being put to work. As soon as he was old enough, the family had a seventh pair of hands to help around the farm. As such, he was "home-schooled" by his father along with his siblings. However, the bulk of his schooling was conducted via audio books since his father was busy juggling the farm and six kids. They watched videos to learn about geography, geometry, history, and art. It was the same materials that his older siblings had used to learn, and it was determined that they turned out just fine, so surely this method of instruction was fool-proof, right?
Listen, Tag is clever. He's witty, he's curious, he's self-sufficient. He will be the first to assert that he can do anything, so long as he's given the proper tools. In this case, he wasn't, and Tag never learned how to read.
His innate intelligence has always shined brightly. He could recite any concept back to his father after either listening to the audio reading of a textbook or watching any educational video in length. His ability to solve those geometry problems came as easily for him as breathing. But, until the age of 11, Tag had never even tried to sit down and read a book, not when he could be "studying" while listening to his audio books through his headphones while getting farm work done. It fed his ever-hungry mind. It was entertainment. It was an excuse to tune out his siblings or his father's barking of orders. He had never needed to read when the audio books were his escape.
Needless to say, his Hogwarts acceptance came as a surprise. To his knowledge, no one in his family had ever been magical. He didn't even know he was magical. Sure, he was quicker and more efficient at getting his field work done than his older siblings who were generally bigger and stronger than him, but he never gave it much thought - he just assumed he was a naturally hard worker and things came easily for him. He couldn't have known...
His family did not react well, to say the least. His siblings complained that he was getting out of farm work, claimed that he probably wasn't even magical at all, and how would they even be able to afford it? Nearly a year after he received his letter (and was sternly informed he would not be going), his father took him aside and told him he was being sent to live with his mother's sister on the first of September 2096 without a concrete explanation. The provided reason was, in his father's words, "You will be better off there."

For starters, he knew his aunt existed, but he had never even met her until the day he arrived on the doorstep of her tiny cottage, his worldly belongings in tow. His first impression was that she was beautiful, she was friendly, she was warm-- but best of all, he quickly realized she was magical. Magic, just like him! It dawned on him that he wasn't being exiled from his family. That maybe, just maybe, his father really did think he would be better off here. With someone like him.
And so began his new home-schooling. But this time, it didn't include Muggle videos and audio recordings. There were books, real books. Pages and pages of parchment to sift through. Diagrams, new languages, incantations that didn't even feel remotely normal rolling off the tongue. It was unlike anything he had ever studied before. Fortunately, he had a "teacher" who gave him individual attention, who not only instructed him on the ways of magic, but helped him improve the basic skills he was lacking, too. She worked with him on reading, on spelling, on correct punctuation. They read aloud together, they dissected words and sentences and successfully boosted him to the expected reading level of a 9-year-old. Sure, he was four years behind at the age of 13, but progress was progress.
Finally, after two years of homeschooling from his very cool ("and very single, gentlemen!" he shouts into the void) aunt, it was decided that he should be around people his own age. The invitation to Hogwarts still stood, and September 2098 could not come quickly enough. He was finally going to get to be a normal kid and could be anyone he wanted to be.

Personality Type: INTJ-T Personality: Being the only child in a very reclusive family, Ben is used to being alone. Other than his family and private tutor, he hasn't always had a lot of interaction with other people in his day-to-day life. Books are his main companions, and he feels very uncomfortable if he doesn’t always have one with him to hide behind read when he gets a chance. He's not likely to initiate conversations with strangers, though once he gets to know someone well enough he maybe more willing to. When he does speak, he tries to be very careful with what he says, always wanting to think before he speaks so he doesn't say something wrong.
When something catches his interest, he becomes determined to learn everything and work so hard at it that he masters it, no matter how long it takes or how many failed attempts he has to go through – unless, of course, those failed attempts happen in front of someone else. The slightest mistake when other people are around causes him to give up and withdraw almost instantly, refusing to “embarrass” himself further. He is always wary about what someone else might think of him, not wanting people to think negatively of him.
Overall, he tries to be more rational than emotional, or at least, he wants to give off that impression. Because of this, he tends to bottle up and ignore any strong emotions, not wanting to create a scene or draw attention to himself.
Background: Ben is the only child of Pascal and Maybelle Selwyn. He was always a quiet and shy child, only speaking once spoken to and even then as little as he could get away with. His parents were not particularly nurturing or affectionate, preferring to leave the house elves to care for him. They were away a lot of the time anyway, helping Pascal's father Claudius smuggle magical creatures and dark artifacts in and out of the country.
Once he was old enough, they requested an old family friend to tutor him, Dorothea Ridgeway, who had also tutored Ben's father when he was Ben's age. Unbeknownst to them, however, Dorothea was beginning to regret the crimes that she had supported by turning a blind eye to what they had been doing for decades. She was as conflicted as she was shrewd, though, as she hesitated for years over what she would do about it, but also subtly encouraged Ben to not blindly accept what his parents - or anyone else - did.
In late June of 2098, Ben's family's current smuggling run was ruined after Dorothea, finally overcome with too much regret to ignore, sent in a tip to law enforcement about their plans. When law enforcement showed up at their rendezvous point, they fought back but were soon defeated and arrested, though not before Ben's grandfather Claudius was killed in the scuffle.
With his parents gone, Dorothea turning herself in as well, and his furious and grief-stricken grandmother refusing to take him in, Ben was removed from his home and placed in Stemp House as soon as possible, and it was arranged for him to transfer to Hogwarts as a fifth year.
