Madame Puddifoot's is a quiet tea shop where you can meet up with your friends.
The tea shop is laid out in a typical English tea room fashion. Lace doilies cover each table on top of the flower patterned table cloths. In the middle of each is a small container with a tea light candle, ready to be lit for those on a romantic retreat. The windows are half covered by fancy net curtains, leaving just enough room at the top to see over and down Hogsmeade's High Street. Little flower and heart covered cushions are on each seat awaiting your arrival.
Sapphira Puddifoot keeps the shop this way because she has to. But she has no desire to look upon all the fancy decorations herself, which is why you'll most likely find her in the back room. She'll come and serve you, but make sure you know what you want to order as she doesn't have all day.

The blonde woman wasn't in the right clothes for winter but she wanted to look nice. Brylee hadn't been to Hogsmeade in five or so years. A nice hot cup of tea would be amazing. Sadly she's been having writers block. It's been about two...almost three weeks. She was able to get some ideas down about an article that she's somewhat interested in at the moment but she just can't put everything together. Normally when she has writers block it's because there's some kind of problem and Brylee wasn't able to figure out that problem. The woman walked into the little shop and took a seat at one of the tables.

Either way, they were getting closer to their destination. Soon, soon her ears would be warm again. The rest of her was alright to be honest. They were walking after all and she had cast a warming spell on her boots. So yes, she was MOSTLY warm. Which of course didn't stop her from huddling closer when he offered. How attentive he was.
Four for you, Zeke Browne, you go, Zeke Browne.
Summer, though, yes. Maggie had been talking about PROPER summer, like actual heat, lie in the sun and get tan kind of summer. But she didn't argue. Just shrugged against him. "Mhm." Optimism. As for her summer plans, "No, not really." There was something going on with her daddy's side of the family that no one was telling her about so she wasn't sure if she was going to get to go to California again. She would have to figure that out soon.
"You? Going to France again?" See, she HAD been paying attention when he'd told her about that before the last summer holidays.
He knew when to keep his thoughts to himself... most of the time, so he was prepared to brave the floral and feminine dungeon of high tea. It would be easy enough to ignore the cushions and things when he had Maggie to look at.
And they were nearing their destination. This had its advantages, in that he would be able to see her better, but it also had its disadvantages, in that he wouldn't be required to hold her for much longer, and it was nice keeping her close. Such mixed emotions.
Nevertheless, as the approached the entrance to the tea shop, Zeke opened the door for Maggie to pass through first. It didn't surprise him that she hadn't planned out the future break, it was still a way off, so when the question was returned to him, he shrugged. France though, was a real possibility. "Probably," he supplied, leading her over to one of the 'cute' tables near the wall, but not out of sight of the window. As far as he was concerned this was the best of both worlds. Cosy and private enough with the security of the wall, but also light enough and with a view of the street without having people press their faces up to the window. "Summers in France is.... kind of tradition, I guess," he added casually, pulling her chair out for her. But really, what was the point of a holiday house if on didn't use it on their holidays?

Aaaaaand they were here!!!!!!!!
Maggie stepped inside, immediately looking around and trying to take everything in. It was just such a cute place. And yes it catered to a specific type of person but she was definitely one of them. This was exactly her type of thing. She absolutely loved it here. Maybe she could take it over one day when the owner had died or something. Okay, maybe not. Running a tea shop was not really what she had in mind for her future. But it was still REALLY cute in here!
Following Zeke to one of the tables she smiled at him when he pulled out her chair for her. Such a gentleman he was. So they were going to France then, probably. "I'm sure it's really nice there." Maggie commented, eyes finally returning to her date again. She was still quite impressed that they had a house there to be honest. "I might be going to L.A. again. Maybe. I don't know yet." She picked up the menu, only to place it on the table again a second later.

"I like it here."
The place looked exactly the same as it had last time he was here, the only thing that had changed was his company, and the fact that he was here voluntarily.
Just seeing Maggie's response, her whole-body response to the tea shop's atmosphere was worth it, it had been a good choice, the best choice it seemed. Maybe next time they could go to the Three Broomsticks though, he could do with a butterbeer.
Tucking her chair under her as she took her seat, Zeke rounded the table to join her. "It's not bad," he agreed. France. Liked the place, loved the family, but hated the language. There was no denying how much he hated the language. But then, Maggie might be going to L.A. again? "Oh, that's neat... though I was hoping you'd be around London for a while." Because he would be.
What amused him in all of this was that she beat him to the menu. Nobody ever beat him to the menu!!! But then the second she had it, she placed it back down again. It was quite cute, and fitting for the place.

Relief washed over him.
"I was hoping you'd like it..." really, he had.
"Not bad?!" Maggie echoed, a somewhat surprised look on her face. That really didn't sound as if he loved the place. She really wanted to see it some time. Paris. And France in general. Maybe she had a bit of a cliché-filled picture of a romanticized version of France in her head. But then again, romanticized versions of stuff was her thing in general.
Seeing as neither her grandparents nor her mother had given her a definite answer, Maggie really wasn't sure. She smiled at him to mask that she was actually a little bit worried about how they were clearly keeping something from her. "Well, I might be persuaded to stay here then." She half-joked, lips curling into a playful grin. Either way, she would definitely be around though.
Maggie hadn't even looked at the menu but had just taken it for a moment to give her hands something to do. Having warmed up enough, she finally shrugged out of her jacket and took off her scarf before carefully placing both on the back of her chair. She absently ran her fingers through her curls to ensure they still looked as perfect as they had when she'd left her dorm.
"Well, good choice." She smiled at him, folding her hands in her lap. "I might even have some cake today." Yes. She'd prepared for this date. Besides, she'd heard they had really good cakes here. Not that she would know really but she also didn't want make him eat alone.

Lux was in the mood for tea, so there was no better place to go than to Madame Puddifoots.
She really liked this place. On top of the fact that there were nice things to eat and drink, this was where she had told Bay that she loved him that first time. Yep, that definitely made this place better in her eyes. He had given her a necklace and white lilies here, and she had actually chosen the same table that they had sat at during the date.
Happy, she smiled as she waited for Zhenya and Teddy to join her.

Zhenya had told him to meet her at Madame Puddifoots, and he wasn't sure whether she would be there yet. But there it was. A frosty gust of wind whipped past him, making him stop and shiver. He pulled his scarf closer around his face before moving again, towards the warm looking shop.
And in he went... Spotting the most beautiful woman ever. Of course he had already had the greatest pleasure of meeting her previously, but she looked even more beautiful than he remembered. He gulped, throat suddenly dry, and looked down towards his feet. He wished Zhenya would hurry up, he was too nervous to do anything besides wave at Lux, probably looking like a gorilla in the process.

Hearing the door open, Lux looked up and was pleased to see Teddy. She wondered where Zhenya was, but then figured that she was probably running a little late and would meet up with them when she could.
"Teddy, hey! I'm over here!" Maybe he didn't see her because he was looking at his feet, but Lux wanted to make sure that he didn't walk out again. She wanted to see how he was liking Hogwarts and talk about more books if he wanted to. She wondered if he liked Westerns because they were Bay's favourite.

Aaah, he spotted her. She saw as he waved to her.
Oh, and that was the sound of her voice. It was lovely. Teddy took another second to gather himself, telling himself firmly NOT to act like an idiot, and attempted to walk towards her with confidence. Once he reached the table she was sitting at, he felt relieved to have made it. No trips, just a smooth walk. "Hello Lux," he said, feeling his heart hammering away in his chest. "H-how's the..." swallow "Home schooling?"
Zhenya was late.
Why was she always late nowadays?
Her bag was weighing heavily on her shoulder, and she was almost positive she was now lopsided. It was full of texts and papers from work, already she was elbow deep in reports.
But she loved it.
She headed towards the meeting place, wondering whether they were both there yet. Opening the door, and stepping inside, she saw that they were. She walked towards them and happily dropped her bag to the floor. "Hi guys, sorry I'm late. Work is so crazy at the moment!" She gave Teddy a big hug, wanting to catch up with him about Hogwarts, but they would get to that soon. "Lux! HI!" she gave her friend a big hug, and then collapsed into the seat. Ahh, her feet were happy now.

As Teddy headed over towards her, Lux got up from her seat and gave him a hug. He was Zhenya's shy little brother and he was adorable like a little puppy. "Home schooling is great! I'm much happier now though I do miss you guys." But she definitely didn't regret her decision to leave. She'd be able to see Cinna and her other friends more after term ended and that made her happy. "How's Hogwarts? Am I missing anything exciting?" ...Or horrifying? She wasn't sure if she wanted to voice the last part.
Probably for the best.
ANYWAY, ZHENYA WAS HERE!!
"Hey!" she said as she returned the hug before returning to her seat. "That's okay, sometimes things are hectic for me too with school and studying. I'm so glad that you guys are here." Too bad Bay wasn't there because he always made everything perfect. But she was so happy to see Teddy and Zhenya!

Kaycee was a strong independent woman and did NOT need a man to buy her... a crumpet. Whatever that was. She squinted at the menu again. This was date food? Why wasn't there just a pizza place or something in Hogsmeade? Geesh.
Anyway. It wasn't like she didn't have friends that could of come. This was just an impulse thing. She didn't have time to make Dante or Hugo or someone come with her.
She peered over the menu. Time to figure out if she approved of the new boyfriend status. Which, she probably did. She liked Zeke. But, like, this was what she was supposed to do right? It's what they did in movies.

Not bad. Yes. Not bad. Why did it sound so weird? "I mean it's great, I guess, y'know, good food and it's pretty looking, but the people are snobs and everyone insists on speaking French." It was frustrating. How was he supposed to enjoy his time when he could barely communicate with even his sisters! ... so yes, he liked France, but at the same time, he could live without it too. That language was one he would never learn. Though a part of him was beginning to wonder if they just made it up as he went, he was sure that the way they pronounced words were not at all how they appeared to be written.
Naturally, he preferred London. Home. Home was great. And what would be even better, was if they didn't have to like... not see each other, for the duration of the break. "I can be quite persuasive when I want to be," just saying, this sounded like a win to him.
Following Maggie's cue, Zeke shed his jacket and slung it over the back of his seat - and he wondered how he hadn't thought to do it the second they arrived. Already he was feeling more comfortable.
He watched Maggie for a moment, as she tended to her hair, which was very nice today. But, when was it NOT nice? And though he said it the second he saw her, he couldn't help but comment again, "You really do look amazing." Just. Yeah. Red was a nice colour on her. It was perhaps even his favourite colour on her.
Smiling at his moderate success so far, Zeke pulled his menu closer, laying it flat on the table in front of him. Puddifoot's was great with food. "I highly recommend the cake," he nodded, approving of Maggie's willingness to dabble in his favourite food group. He already knew he was going to go for cream teas and a chelsea bun, though it was a shame there were no cinnamon scrolls on the menu. Perhaps he ought to talk to the owner. "Don't hold back, order whatever you like, it's my shout." He knew this for a fact, because it's what was expected on first dates, right? The guy should pay.

Teddy got a hug. He got a HUG from LUX! He couldn't even breathe as she leant in to wrap her arms around him. Just before he was sure she would pull away, he gathered his senses and quickly put his arms around her too, returning the hug and feeling a cheesy stupid grin cross his face. Oh, why was he so shy around pretty girls? He'd have to talk to his Uncle Archer and get some pointers from him.
And now it looked like the grin just wouldn't go away. But at least what she was saying was happy and sort of matched the grin. She hadn't been saying how awful home schooling was, otherwise his grin would be very insensitive. Wait, did she just say SHE missed you guys HIM? No, probably everyone else. "I'm happy to hear it's going well," he said. He truly was. "Hmm Hogwarts is good. I just read they're doing flying lessons soon, and they have a ghost teaching History of Magic, and a centaur teaching Care of Magical Creatures!" that was pretty big news, right?
But then before he had to think of anything else to say, the big sister arrived. Teddy gave her a big smile and a big hug. He had certainly missed her a LOT!
Zhenya was very glad that Lux understood. "How is it all going with studying at home? Better than at Hogwarts?" She just couldn't NOT start with that. She had never really known any Hogwarts-aged people who hadn't been at Hogwarts. "I'm so happy I got to come and see you both!" She was, and she had been looking forward to this day for a long time!

Awww, Teddy must have been in a really good mood because he had a big smile on his face. Lux was in a good mood too, and it was awesome! Yay for being happy!
"Oh, that sounds really interesting! I remember seeing Centaurs at Hogwarts. I just wish I got to see one of the mermaids before I left." Pout. That made her sad. "You getting up to any trouble, Teddy? I won't tell Zhenya if you are." She gave him a knowing wink. Boys could really like getting in trouble, but Teddy seemed to be the quiet and reserved type.
Getting comfortable in her seat, Lux smiled at Zhenya. "It's going great, though I'm starting to stress over NEWTs. The math bits especially." She was really not good at math so it made some of the work harder. "I'm really happy being home schooled! And I get to see Bay and my family!" That made her really happy. "So how are you both doing today?" She smiled at Zhenya and Teddy.

Lux wanted to see a Mermaid when she was at Hogwarts? That was really interesting. "Oh, do many people see mermaids?" He couldn't have imagined seeing them, or even going INTO the lake to see them.
Wait... trouble? That got the smile off his face. But then she winked, and that made the smile come back. "No," he said, giggling. "But I returned a book late. I don't think Mr. Kitridge minded though." Hope not. He hoped he didn't have a record now.
Zhenya nodded, completely understanding he stress Lux was experiencing. "I hated it last year. My only advice is to make a study plan and stick to it." She did it, and was pretty happy with her results. "I didn't do Arithmancy NEWT though..." she had dropped it, so there was no help she could give to Lux. Which was unfortunate. She liked helping people.
She smiled happily "That's good! I guess you don't really understand what you're missing when you're at Hogwarts, until you spend part of the term at home." She was getting used to being able to do whatever she wanted, without the other people around.
"I'm good, now that work is out! It's really busy, a big learning curve, but it's really awesome. How are you?"

Wait...
Lux honestly didn't think many people at Hogwarts had seen mermaids. She shook her head. "I don't think so, and I never got the chance to see for myself. I promised Bay I wouldn't swim in the lake," she explained. So all she did was splash in it and that didn't help her to see mermaids. She was happy she kept her promise though because she'd never break a promise to Bay.
As Teddy's smile faltered then reappeared, Lux couldn't help but giggle. "I'm sure he won't mind. I really like Mr. Kitridge. He is a very nice man." She was happy for him and Professor Cassie and missed all the Hogwarts staff - especially Professor Culloden. "What book was it?" she asked curiously.
It was too bad that Zhenya couldn't help her, but that was okay. She had some pretty good advice though! "I'm trying to stick to a routine, but it feels like I never have enough time to do everything. And of course I need to have a social life." She would die if all she did was stay inside and study. "I might get a tutor, because even with my governess I feel like I struggle a bit." But yeah, math sucked.
"That's very true! I don't think I could have gone back there after everything that happened. And I was already eager to go before that." She didn't like to dwell on the unhappy times, they had been terrible for her. At least she was happy now, and so were her friends! "That's great! I can't wait to be able to work. I'm doing wonderful. I've been waiting for ages for Hogsmeade to open!" And now it finally was!

That was too bad that Lux hadn't seen a mermaid when she had wanted to. And... he wondered who Bay was. Whoever he was, Teddy was glad Lux had promised not to put herself in danger.
So Lux thought so too! "I think so too!" Teddy said, happily. He had been most relieved to discover that the Librarian wasn't a hideously mean person. Not even a little bit mean. PLUS he was Teddy's head of house, which was always good. "I don't remember..." Teddy said, deep in thought. What book HAD it been? "I think it was an Arithmancy textbook or something." Some extra work for him to practice?
"How many NEWTs are you going to be going?" she asked Lux, curious. It was good that Zhenya had decided to give up a few lessons, which meant more time to focus on the ones she enjoyed and was good at, rather than stressing herself out trying to study for subjects she didn't like and wasn't good at. Zhenya giggled at the second bit. She couldn't imagine Lux giving up her social life. "Well obviously you need your social life, of course you do!" Otherwise they would just get totally burned out.
"Oh I didn't know you were wanting to leave before the Acromantula attack." Was that what she meant? "OH So have I! When they wrote and told me when the date had been set, I made sure I had time off. I got to leave early so I could be here. It's so good, except there's one girl at work who is just so awful. She came in and had a go at all of us on our first day! I haven't really been near her since though." Thankfully everyone else was lovely.
Not bad. Yes.
Okay good, so his only problem seemed to be the snobbish people (okay?) and the language. Especially the latter was surprising to her. How come he hadn't learned it yet if they went there regularly. Maggie didn't voice this thought, however. Instead she smiled and nodded casually. "Well, I really wanna go some day." She commented, her tone suggesting that they could move on to a different topic now.
Which didn't mean he shouldn't REMEMBER what she'd just told him. Might be...useful. Ahem.
Her lips curled into an amused smirk as she met his gaze again. "Reeeeeaally?" Was that a challenge? Although he did have a higher chance at 'winning' this one, seeing as there were outside forces influencing her decision too. Maggie did want to see him try though. Heh. "If I do go, you should just come visit though." Like Kaycee and Dante had last summer.
Maggie's head was bowed slightly, seeing as she was watching her fingers comb through her hair. So when she looked at Zeke again it was through her lashes. "Thank you." She knew she did but it was very nice for him to say so anyway. He was looking good too, but since compliments were FOR girls she didn't say so. Brushing all her curls to one side she eventually stopped playing with her hair and raised her head again. Okay. So. The menu.
'The cake' wasn't exactly very helpful so she just stared down at her menu for a long moment. "Which one?" Maggie asked, clearly a little overwhelmed by the selection of cakes. Maybe she should have prepared herself for this part of the date too. Oops. But then again, she was sitting here with an expert when it came to cakes so surely Zeke could help her out. Who was paying today. Which she had expected. Like, this was a date after all. Still she gave him a grateful smile.

... and Maggie was entitled to go to France, if that was really what she wished. It was a free country after all. Zeke put a finger to the menu, running it down to double check they hadn't added anything new he might want to try. But, the more time that passed, the more he wondered if Maggie had been dropping a hint? She wanted to go to France. He went to France annually. Was it too soon to invite her? He'd wait on it.
But then she had the audacity to question his persuasiveness. "Well, I managed to get you to be my girlfriend," he supplied, a smirk lighting his features. So yes, REALLY. Persuasion was something he was under the impression he did well. He would be able to find a way to keep her, so long as she still wanted to be with him of course. He wouldn't be able to fight for her if she wasn't going to have a bar of him. Losing battles were not his thing. Then again, her alternative wasn't bad. Was that an invitation? "Try and stop me." He'd find a way to be there if it came to it.
She was very welcome too, because there was no denying he'd lucked out. Of all the people at their school, she was here with him... it was brilliant.
Her question snapped him from his thoughts, and peering down at the menu he considered their options. "I'd say it depends on what you like, but seeing as you're not a cake person..." yet, "how about we get you, a carrot cake, they're quite good and you can try some of mine too." And if he was sure she wouldn't give him weird looks, he would probably order one of everything. Making choices was for chumps, there didn't NEED to be an opportunity cost where cake was concerned.

Okay, touché.
Although her saying yes hadn't only been due to his persuasiveness. Like, it wasn't like he'd been trying to convince her to be his girlfriend. It had just been out there and when Maggie had been worried he wouldn't want to wait until their date, she'd said yes early. But she was simply going to let him think that. "Even though I pretty much had to FORCE you to use your favor on me." She teased, looking down at her menu again with a smirk.
Maggie giggled lightly at his next words and rolled her eyes at him. "I just invited you to LA. That's the point where you say 'gosh, Maggie thanks, I'd love to, you're the best'." She gave his leg a playful nudge with her shoe under the table. Seriously though. It would be cool no? She'd had people over before, maybe they could all visit her at the same time even. Hmm.
Carrot cake? Maggie tried to find it on the menu. Seriously, she didn't know what half of these things were. "Okay I'll take that then. And green tea." He would order for her right?

It was nice to hear that Teddy liked Mr. Kitridge. "He's your Head of House, right?" Lux couldn't remember if Zhenya had told her he was in Ravenclaw, but it seemed like he belonged there at any rate. This boy was SMART. "Are you good at Arithmancy then?" Or was he not good at it and needing help? "I'm pretty good at it because it doesn't involve complicated math." Even she could add numbers though sometimes she needed a calculator when working things out at home. "Potions is my favourite!" She was going to invent them for a living and that was SUPER exciting.
Here was her chance to show how much of a nerd she was...or how insane. Lux wasn't sure which. Maybe it was a bit of both. "I'm going for all 12." Because she clearly had a death wish. "I did that for my OWLs as well," she explained. Of course these would be a lot HARDER... Ugh. "I can't even imagine giving up my social life despite all that. But I make sure to do all my homework." She was a good girl after all.
"I really missed Bay," she said going slightly pink. She wasn't embarrassed, so she wasn't sure why she was blushing. She just was really happy right now and a good part of it was probably her remembering that date. "It's really good you had time off because otherwise we wouldn't be able to meet up here!" Of course they would have worked something out, because it wasn't as if she never got to see Zhenya...It was just busy schedules. She frowned as her friend carried on talking. "She sounds awful. People can be so rude." Fortunately she didn't really associate with those people.
So this was the place where all of the Hogwarts couples go on dates? Well this place really didn't see what the buzz was about. From the outside to him it looked like a very very girly place to eat. Mmmm Kane wasn't sure about this. Did girls really like places like this? More importantly would Skye like a place like this for a date?
So the sixth year pushed the door open and walked into the shop. He looked around. There was a few couples there. Soooo. People did come here on dates. He was really starting to feel out of place here. Kane Cassadine party of one please.
Oh look there was Kaycee and she alone. *insert eyebrow wiggle* Maybe she could give him some insight on this place. After all she was his Beyoncé to his Jay-Z.
He rushed over before someone else grabbed the seat across from her. He learned that with Kaycee he had to work fast before someone else got to her first. Flopping in the seat across of her "Come here often?" He asked with the most Prince Charming like smile he could do, and ran his hand through his bouncy curly locks.

He had it won, until you brought that up, and really, he had little way of explaining it away. SHE had persuaded him to use it on her. But then, what did that mean exactly? Shaking his head lightly gave her a amused look. "Well just because I didn't want to use my favour didn't mean I didn't want you." Never mind that cooties were still a moderate influence on his pre-Maggie kissing experience, of which was nil. But he didn't much mind being the one to be persuaded, she was welcome to continue persuading him too.
...
Had he said the wrong thing?
It wasn't bad, despite the eye-rolling, which was USUALLY bad, but then, he couldn't help but grin. "Gosh Maggie, thanks, I'd love to, you're the best," he parroted for her benefit. "But really, I would love to. And if you want to..." was now the time? "... you could visit me in France." There was no doubt in his mind that her company would be appreciated, and he was sure that she and Avery would get along, Ashely too he imagined. But then, the whole prospect of the 'meet the parents' thing was... terrifying. He was scared for Maggie already.
Laying his 'fears' to rest so that he might be able to focus on food things, he nodded as Maggie conveyed her wishes. Zeke nodded before repeating her order - a habit he'd developed after years of ordering experience, "Carrot cake and green tea, coming right up." He pushed himself away from the table to approach the counter where he relayed their order of carrot cake, green tea, tea creams and a chelsea bun. After completing the transaction, Zeke returned to their table, shoving his coin pouch back into his pocket.

Kaycee was in the middle of spying when she was interrupted. She didn't mind though. She offered Kane a big smile instead. She'd definitely take this over sitting here alone.
"First time actually. What about you?" she asked. She assumed it was a no. Otherwise, did he tend to frequent date spots on his own? Or maybe he was spying too? She looked around taking inventory of all the couples there. He was probably not spying. Scratch that idea.
Also. That smile. No fair.
