Simply Stylish Salon sits directly across the street from Honeydukes, bright and shining with a variety of different colours. The funky hair salon looks more to be built out of plastic than the usual wood and stone one would see down the street. Decked out with neon greens, blues, and oranges on the outside with a handful of fun decoration shapes such as stripes, triangles, and stars, this shop is anything but ordinary!
On the inside, you are immediately hit with wizard rock music playing through the shop as the yellows, reds, and orange colours and new assortment of flowing shapes, most notable of them all being the 'swirl', take your attention. A plush waiting area holds comfortable couches and a clear glass table that sits upon a fluffy rug that feels more like a cloud than anything. Hair styling magazines lay on the tables as oddly shaped shelves of products the store sells line the walls.

It wouldn’t have mattered if Ariadne was serious about her relief of being replaced, Aurora wouldn’t dream of shattering the bond that the two sisters had.
Luckily for Ari’s desires, Aurora was perpetually happy even when she was not. A master at disguising her rare negative thoughts under a trademark grin.
It was a whole combination of things that affected her day and she supposed that she shouldn’t be holding such a high priority over her looks which ordinarily she didn’t but it was getting rather frustrating that one day she’d look like a princess awaking from a one-hundred year slumber and another day she’d look like she’d been fighting through the thorny forest that kept her concealed there. Perhaps that was a slight exaggeration but anything that made her mornings easier when she already knew she’d be running late because everything was so wonderfully distracting, was an advantage. “One minute it’s sunny and the next it is pouring down with rain. The weather really can’t make up its mind.” Which made their summer holidays in Greece even more appealing although they hadn’t been in the last couple of years. Maybe this summer would be the perfect opportunity to introduce Ander to their Mom’s second home.
She might not have been the best at biology but the Ravenclaw was pretty certain that she did not possess the ability to grow a beard of her own, nor was the idea an appealing one. “They seem a nuisance, like they’d be itchy on the skin.” Their Uncle Bradley had one and on the very rare occasion that the fifth year could wrestle a hug out of him, his beard had scratched her soft skin. Relieved that Ariadne put that potion down and picked up another, the fifteen year old rose up on her tiptoes to rest her chin upon her sister’s shoulder and read the label. “That sounds perfect!”
Since when was Rora not the priority when it came to Ariadne advice? That's right, the answer was never. Mostly because, well, nobody else was actually asking Ari for advice — and certainly not that Ari minded such absence. Rora was enough. "Never ever." Other than that was completely impossible, Ariadne wouldn't even dream of it.
While fussing over one's looks was absolutely valid, Ari knew that nobody was realistically put together all the time, and she would hope that Rora would one day know that. Appearance was part of the social currency — something Ari had learned from the hours and hours of talking with their mum Bambi, who was a former model herself — but it really shouldn't be everything, if there was anything to learn from their mum's past experience. "Scotland never changes, it seems," Ari softly chuckled. Yeah, that's definitely the Scottish weather she remembered from two terms ago. "You know, what I do when I really can't tame my hair, is that I either braid and tie it up, or hide the mess with a pretty headband. Promise you, most people wouldn't even notice." They'd probably have their own hair dilemmas to deal with, too, anyway. Also, it's a yes to Greece. Always. Always, always.
"I'm sure I don't want a beard of my own, either." But, she supposed, it's good to have an appropriate potion at hand for those who are so inclined. The older Ackerly offered the silky hair potion to her sister. "Here you go. Is there anything else you need or want? It's on me today." Ari's treat, because she's a strong, independent, lady with a job and all. And she would never turn down the chance to pay for something (reasonable, because she wouldn't put it past the younger Ackerly to want to own, say, a winged horse) when it comes to Rora.

It wasn’t completely impossible, no one had expected that there would be another child after such a long gap let alone it be their Ma Layla who had the honours. There was a possibility, unlikely as it was, that they’d want another child and that time it could be another girl and therefore Aurora would no longer be Ariadne’s only sister. It was a bit of a ridiculous thought, even with another sibling it would be impossible to deny the connection that the sisters had. “Good! Or else I’d have to.. confiscate your ice skates” she laughed, taking her time over thinking of a threat that wasn’t TOO serious.
She did and then she didn’t. The fifth year wasn’t afraid to get dirty, for the wind to mess up her hair, the hay from the stables to embed themselves in her clothes and for the mud from the soggy winters to cake her uniform. But then she took a look at the other girls in her year who were more mature than her, who seemed to know more about the world and who seeped glamour and she couldn’t help but to question whether she was supposed to be one of those girls too. “I usually have my hair in braids too. I used to wear them in braided pigtails but last year an older girl told me they were babyish so I stopped.” It had upset her at the time but she had never mentioned it to anyone else.
“I bet you could pull it off” she grinned. Ari had the model appeal of their Mom, she was the type who could rock facial hair and still look effortless. “I’m not sure Tommy would approve though.” But then again her sister’s boyfriend had never really let her in and the Ravenclaw’s knowledge of the boy was limited to what Ariadne had shared with her. She was working on it though, she had almost cried when he had accepted her Christmas gift. “No, that’s all.” She wasn’t going to argue against her offer of paying, mainly because she did not have a job and she was running quickly out of her pocket money from buying treats for the Pygmy Puff. “Honestly I just wanted an excuse to spend time with you,” she admitted.
