Honeydukes is the greatest (and only) candy shop in Hogsmeade that never has a quiet day. Knowing that the place is famous for its sugary delights that are too scrumptious to resist, students and adults alike flock to this shop to satisfy their sweet tooth. If you were to peek through the window, you will witness shelves full of hundreds of candy jars and boxes as well as a large crowd of customers greedily snatching them before they all run out.
A million coloured boxes and wrappers capture your attention the moment you step inside the shop. The walls are adorned with green shelving, the counters hold jars and boxes of different candies, and there is even a station for trying out candy samples from chocolate frogs to jelly slugs and anything in between. Feel free to explore the entirety of the stop; just refrain from going down to (or coming out of...) the cellar where crates and boxes full of candy are stored.

Getting to go to Hogsmeade was more exciting than she’d been led to believe, from mum and dad’s stories. But then, Ari was fairly sure that there were plenty of things her parents were selectively choosing not to tell her til she was older, anyhow. But…she really didn’t understand why Hogsmeade was one of those things.
Either way, mum had sent extra funds in her last letter before the Hogsmeade weekend had come, saying it was so the smol one could buy some Christmas presents. She’d taken that to heart, as she’d made sure to tuck the coins securely into a pocket of her warm coat as she’d gotten ready to come, dark blonde hair in two plaits sticking out from her knit cap. Except, the first place she had found herself drawn to was the candy shop. Candy could be Christmas presents, right?
But where to start? Hmmm. There was almost too much to choose from.

With a sign that read “THIS HUMAN NEEDS A BREAK. WILL BE BACK IN HALF AN HOUR.” magically attached to the door or Scrivenshaft’s Tony Killingworth had fed the cats before beginning his journey to the sweetshop with his little furry companion. That’s right. Goose the cat had decided he wanted to come along too by sprinting out of Scrivenshaft’s after Tony. Resigned that the stubborn cat would not rest peacefully with the others Tony had found a cat-sized onesie patterned with Fat Father Christmases, candy canes and Christmas trees.
Tony stepped into the warmth of Honeydukes with Goose tucked under an arm. “Your best behaviour, Goose. You promised.” After the words were said, Tony put the cat down. He would keep Goose in sight but in the meanwhile he would remove his beanie and scarf as it wasn’t very cold in Honeydukes. This was done just in time to see his companion trotting over to a small Hogwartian against whom’s foot he attempted to rub his head on. Goose, the friendly cat, was trying to make a friend.
He hadn't actually been planning on visiting the sweets shop today, but Drake's curiousity had been piqued when he happened to see an adult with a cat dressed in the most adorable... pajamas? He was a sucker for all things plants and cute animals, so naturally the curly haired boys feet took him following after the man and his adorable feline friend - which took him straight into Honeydukes. The sweet smell of the place distracted him slightly, as he glanced around at the vast array of treats, before brown eyes one again found the cat who was now with another one of his classmates.
Making his way over towards them both, carefully so as not to scare the small creature, he glanced over at the owner and gave a small shy smile. "Your cat is really cute. Did I just hear you called him Goose?" He loved when animals were named after other animals! He smiled at his year mate too and gave a small wave of his hand in greeting.

Yes a pajama onesie. It was quite warm and comfortable, you see. Goose was bound to be warm and snug in such a festive outfit. Having paid so much attention on getting to the shop and continued inspections to ensure Goose was on his best behaviour this meant that Tony had not been paying attention to Young Curls trailing after him. That changed now as the little Hogwartian began admiring the furbaby.
“Yes, that’s Goose for you,’’ Tony replied. His eyes crinkled a tad as he smiled. “He can be overly friendly but he can be magnanimously chaotic. Do not get me started on his shenanigans over at Scrivenshaft’s!” Phew. That would take a day or so. “Anyway. He loves pets and attention.”
Right on cue, little Goosey Goose padded over to Curls where he attempted to headbutt the child’s ankle.

There was absolutely too much to choose from. Enough that Arienne hadn’t exactly noticed the arrival of the man. Probably the shopkeeper, and actually he probably could solve her predicament if she wanted to ask. Except things seemed rather destined to distract the smol girl.
First she felt the little nudge at her foot, glancing down to see the cat in the onesie before she also noticed her classmate who had also joined the party. She had given Drake a return grin as he’d brought up the little kitty and subsequently she also noticed the shopkeeper as well. “Oh!”, she exclaimed softly, letting the other boy continue the conversation about the kitty. Only feeling a moment of disappointment that Goose had padded over to Drake too, stopping her from crouching down to pet him.
“Do you have anything here that my little brothers might like?” The question had slipped out before she could stop it. She’d pretty much decided on toffee for mum and dad, but Aramis and Ainsley were harder. Plus, she kind of sort of wanted to pet Goose too. Chaos baby or not.

Overly friendly and chaotic just reminded Drake a little bit of Bryony, and he silently lamented the blonde…. Acquaintance (he wasn’t sure if she’d approve of the word friend, so he’d refrain) would have gotten along well with the nine lived feline friend. And with it being a creature, of course Aryan would have loved the kitty as well. He mentally took note that the gentleman mentioned Scrivenshaft’s, so that he made sure to double check Ary had gone that way. “Do you work over at Scrivenshafts with him, sir? I’ve noticed a couple of kitties through the windows! Are they all yours?”
The curly haired boy watched the kitty with curious eyes, which immediately lit up as he saw it move his direction. If he’d been more considerate, he perhaps would have felt bad for taking the cat’s attention before his peer had had a chance to pet the critter, but he was too excited to think about it. Crouching down at the ankle bump, he held out his hand to gently give scratches on his head. At Arienne’s question to the man, he glanced over at her before back to him and then Ari again, whom he whispered softly to, “I don’t think he works here at this shop.”

That was okay, smol girl! If Tony knew Goose well - and he did - then the kitty would sashay its way between both. Attention from two smol hoomans was better than attention from just one. Was her question directed at him? Tony thought that it must have been. “I’m not the shopkeep for Honeydukes, dearie, but you can never go wrong with fudge.” Tony pointed in the direction of an array of yummy, delicious, scrumptious fudges. "The walnut fudge are to die for!’’ T threw his arms up dramatically. He was naturally dramatic. Drama was in his bones! “I hope your brothers aren’t allergic to nuts?”
Smol hoomans - and big hoomans alike - were always welcome to visit the kitties at Scrivenshaft’s. The hoomans could even earn themselves a discount if they brought cat treats. “Oh yes. Goose helps out around the shop along with his friends. They’re all mine. I inherited them from my Gram who ran Scrivenshaft’s before me. Goose here was a stray. He moved into the shop and refused to move out.” T glared at Goose. “He is the most stubborn feline ever!” Yet T harbored a special soft spot for him.
Goose was the least bothered with all the chatter. Not when there were scratches happening! He allowed the boy hooman to scratch his head before trotting off back to the girl hooman. MORE ATTENTION, please!

Hogsmeade weekends were always a treat. The blonde loved living in the castle but a change of scenery was always appreciated when Hogwarts was beginning to become a little monotonous. She had practically skipped her way along the long path to the village, keeping an eye out for a friend or two to join but had no such luck. Instead she headed for the beloved sweet shop whose colourful wares displayed in the windows were drawing her attention.
Aurora had no reason to be buying a tonne of sweeties other than because she could. It was a terrible idea that the small amount of pocket money she had been making from doing an older student a favour, would be entirely going on confectionery. The fourth year was already bubbly enough to not need extra sugar flowing through her veins and yet as she sauntered down the aisles of Honeydukes shoving nougat and fudge and ice mice and sugar quills into her basket without a thought over how much it’ll all cost.
Passing by the free samples counter, she stopped in her tracks at the bright red jelly slug that she subtly popped into her mouth.

Tamara often liked to find different areas of Hogsmeade to set up camp and play her cello as a soft serenade to shoppers darting in and out. It wasn’t always appreciated, and when someone said something she usually scurried away on the verge of tears. But she still tried, because sometimes it WAS appreciated and there were kind words spoken which kept her feeling happy and light as a feather for weeks on end. She was itching to maybe get some of that natural euphoria today too, but with Christmas coming just around the corner there was something more important that needed to be done.
Primarily, Christmas shopping.
A notoriously bad gift giver, Tam had taken to settling for getting everyone some of their favorite sweets and treats for every holiday. It was something she knew could be enjoyed, and even if they all started to expect it from her at least she knew they would enjoy it. Picking up a shopping basket at the door, she made her way through the different aisles - grabbing things she knew her family enjoyed as she made her way over towards the sugar quills. It was while passing the free samples that she realized there was a familiar blond and with a shy smile, Tam slowed her steps. “Hi Aurora.” She greeted, not having talked too terribly much to her eldest sister’s best friend but recognizing her all the same. “Are you buying Christmas gifts too?”

Deciding between each of the flavours was becoming an impossible task, so much so that she HAD to try another and another until she had made up her mind. So engrossed in picking between the red and the green was she that she hadn’t noticed the bell on top of the door ringing or the soft footsteps approaching until the gentle voice rang out across the otherwise quiet store.
Tamara need not be concerned that she didn’t know Aurora that well for any sister of Anna’s was automatically an amazing person in her eyes. “Hello!” she greeted the Bowen, turning over her shoulder from the samples that she was currently consuming with a toothy smile. Aurora was the younger sister in her family and had always wondered what it would be like to have younger siblings to influence and then baby Ander was born and the Ravenclaw was left with an unnerving and completely uncharacteristic twinge of jealousy that she was no longer the baby and was effectively demoted to middle sibling.
The fourteen year old wished that Christmas shopping for her family would be as easy as heading to Honeydukes but unfortunately sugary treats were not it. “Kind of? I’ll get some for my friends but my family don’t eat much sugar. They’re kinda really healthy, my Ma is a health coach and she NEVER eats sugar which is like.. the worst thing imaginable.” Hence why it was so exciting to have her own money to spend on things that wouldn’t ordinarily be possible at home.
Well, she would certainly try to not disappoint Aurora’s faith then in the shared blood between her best friend and Tam herself. Especially because out of the lot of them, she could have easily argued she was perhaps the most boring. She didn’t think it was much of the middle child syndrome but… maybe her feelings could be equated to that. More so, it was just the overall awe she had of the rest of the girls who were so incredibly brilliant and extroverted. She didn’t MIND being the boring one though - not if that meant she still got to spend time with the rest of them and bask in their individualities.
The amount of samples Rora was trying were not clocked by the younger Ravenclaw, though she certainly wouldn’t have judged either if it had been. It was good to be able to find your preference so you were satisfied with potential purchases, yes? “How are you doing?” She asked politely at the returned greeting.
… The family not being into sweets would have been disastrous for her!! “Does she allow you to have sugar at home too or do you have to wait until school is back in session to satisfy the sweet tooth?”

Aurora had an extremely positive opinion of the Walles/Bowen family and, had she not had such a close relationship with her own mothers and siblings, would likely have insisted that she be adopted into the family too. She adored being the younger sister though, she idiolised Ariadne to such an extent that she wished to be just like her (except maybe minus the Auror part, that didn’t seem like her cup of tea), but having a whole horde of sisters sounded like an absolute dream.
Tam had always appeared to the Ravenclaw to be the quieter more introverted sister, full of musical talent and internal wisdom that Aurora would never be able to understand. She hoped that her bright and bubbly self wouldn’t scare her off although being used to Anna acting very much the same way - they were soul sisters after all - would likely prepare the younger girl for the bombardment that was about to come her way. “I’m good.. Great in fact! But that’s nothing new really, I’m rarely sad except maybe when everyone is busy and I’m all on my own..” Even then it was more a sense of boredom of being left to entertain herself, she drew energy from others and bounced off of their positive vibes. Her emotional range seemed to teeter somewhere between happy and elated and would never tip to the negative side of the scale which she supposed was a good thing. “How are you?” she asked back. She wasn’t used to such formalities in her conversation but it would be impolite to not ask otherwise.
It was certainly difficult to both pretend like she hadn’t totally over-indulged in confectionary whilst at school and somehow revert herself back to the sugar free alternatives her Ma insisted on. “Not really. She says it’s not good for me and I kinda understand but then it also sucks. She did get a little more lenient whilst pregnant though so maybe her baby brain fog will make her forget about it and I can eat all the Christmas pudding that I want.” Not that she particularly liked the fruit filled tradition, she would much rather indulge in a chocolatey alternative.
There was nothing that stated she couldn’t share the family even with being well loved by her own. Wasn’t that the joys of relationships of all shapes and sizes? Being wholly accepted into someone else’s pack? Not that she experienced this first hand but… she read things. Besides, she knew how much Aurora meant to Anna especially and was certain they’d all readily accept her. As far as Tam was concerned, the older Ravenclaw had certainly always been kind and friendly and could of course just have even additional sisters in the form of the rest of them. If she wanted.
That was entirely a correct analysis of her. Though Aurora needn’t worry about the girl being scared of, because it WAS true she was used to that of Anna and honestly she loved that personality of her sister’s. And the similarity of how Anna viewed the world vs Aurora was a welcome familiarity. “I’m glad to hear it! I can’t imagine that you’re often alone. You and Anna have so many friends!” Was that just a trait that came easily with the extroverted nature? If so, perhaps that was good if Aurora was prone to loneliness without company surrounding her. At the returned question, Tam gave a polite nod of her head. “I’m doing good, thank you! I love getting to come down to Hogsmeade. It’s so pretty here and it feels good to have a bit of a different scenery.” Even if it wasn’t THAT different considering she could still spot the castle looming in the distance.
“Well… I have read before that sometimes cravings that happen during pregnancy remain after the baby has been born. So you might have a good chance! Some of the pregnancy aversions stay too. Isn’t it crazy how much it can change?” Hormones were truly the magic in the world. There was no spells or potions that went along with it. How mind boggling was that? “I have my fingers crossed for you!” Even if too many sweets weren’t healthy, it was still nice to be able to indulge here and there.

Aurora was for sure one of those kids who gained energy from being around lots of people. It was never a popularity thing however, she was oblivious enough to think that even those that found her irritating were on her friend list. Aurora simply loved people. “A lot of my friends are fifth years which means soon they’ll all be studying for their OWLs and apparently I’m a bit distracting.” Even when she tried to help out, she could be a bit of a hindrance without any malicious intention. Maybe she’d have to try and accost those in her own year soon, or perhaps she should attempt to study herself considering her exams would come around soon enough and she’d need all the help she could get.
Hogsmeade, albeit small and quaint and having very similar shops to Diagon Alley, was always a welcome change to the monotony that was the castle. It also had the advantage of being a pretty walk down through the scenic Scottish highlands. “Have you been to any of the other shops yet? I wish there was a Floreans.. or a menagerie.” Honeydukes was fun but there were only so many free samples that a girl could consume before she was sick.
Tam was once again one of those well-read Ravenclaws who could recall information like she was reading it out of a book. Aurora on the other hand, was not. It always fascinated her how intelligent her fellow housemates were, they were like encyclopaedias. She giggled. “I hope so. She wasn’t very happy being pregnant, it was my Mom who carried Ariadne and I. She was veeeery hormonal.” She was used to Layla being grumpy but the emotional side was new.

Jan's gloved hands rested on the shop window. He exhaled out before rubbing his palm to remove the frost. The shelves sure looked stocked from here as he almost ran inside, letting the door jingle. His godfather wasn't anywhere nearby to stop his sweet craving. What could he get? He supposed he could also get some for Idris, where he was. Maybe even send some to Zen.
He grinned at the sight of Cockroach Clusters. No, they weren't his type, but maybe Idris would enjoy it. But what else could he get?

Paul wasn't sure what he wanted to have. He liked sweets and was in the mood for a nice glass of Nesquik. But what good is the strawberry drink without some sweets on the side? He didn't feel like pestering the house elves over a minimal task, so Hogsmeade was the place for him to go this weekend. Stomping through the crunchy snow, the scowl on his face coated with a few snowflakes as he didn't feel like talking with anyone he passed by.
The jingle of the door sounded before Paul headed straight for the section with sweets. Hmm... Chocoballs seems safe.. maybe a sugar quill or two?

Idris wasn’t sure what he wanted to do today other than to now follow Paul around as usual. Of course there was the option to bother Jan and Ary or to have a quiet moment with Dad E but the ideas had been quickly discarded after noticing that his best friend was much grumpier than usual. Did this perturb the Gryffindor? Nope, not in the least! Id had seen Paul at his grumpiest and would still stick around. In his mind, he possessed enough bubbliness and good vibes for both of them.
The second year squeezed in through Honeydukes’ door after Paul before it shut. In his arms, cradled like a baby was his pink Kneazle, Nesquik. The furbaby happened to be dressed in a onesie on which tiny images of Christmas trees, Santa and his reindeer, fairy lights and an assortment of other festive symbols were printed. It was almost the Holidays, after all.
“You’d think for someone who has such a sweet tooth, they’d be less sour,’’ Id mused to Nesquik, laughter in his voice. Since he had stopped in close proximity to Paul, he was sure the Hufflepuff heard the words. Idris allowed the kneazle to leap out of his arms and watched in amusement as Nes attempted to rub himself against Paul’s ankles.

Of course, Paul wasn't alone. Out of the corner of his eyes, he spotted the familiar figure carrying a pink bundle of fur. No matter how hard he tried last year to ditch and persuade Idris to leave him be. There was no stopping it, especially with those claws of little Nesquik. So he would just let them follow him and maybe they'll find someone else to follow over time. That's how everyone was with him and he accepted that as fact and wasn't going to rock the boat with that.
Paul rolled his eyes at the comment, "And you'd think someone that acted all sweet wouldn't keep following such a sour person around." He scowled, before feeling the familiar fuzz against his ankles. Not looking to see the Nesquik bundled by his ankles, he was briefly reminded of his rabbit Donut back at home. He couldn't bring them to Hogwarts, unfortunately. ".... I was just looking for a snack to go with a Nesquik drink." Turning, the scowl on his face dropped entirely to look at Idris. "Did you want something from here?"

Hogwarts had started altogether rather uneventfully for the first year, which in the grand scheme of things was probably a good thing. She’d heard tales from her older sisters, all embellished to be rather fantastical and perhaps without a lot of the negatives, that she was somewhat expecting that something might have gone wrong. But for the Ravenclaw it had not and she should probably be feeling grateful for such a revelation.
Simona was no stranger to Hogsmeade, in fact she had been here during the festival with Anna and so traversing the pathway on her own (although following behind a group of older students just in case) had not been a difficult task. She’d made no prior arrangements nor did she have a reason for visiting the street other than to just get herself out of the confines of the castle for a change in scene. Her friend list was limited, not from any fault of her own other than she was quiet and independent, but she had made a brief mention to her dormmates that morning that they could do something together if they wanted to which was why as she glanced in at the Honeydukes shop display, she was also checking the reflection for signs of familiarity.

There was definitely no stopping Id.
Something about Paul, perhaps the way he lashed out at others, made Id sure that the decision to keep him company had been the right one. In the Gryffindor’s mind, his actions just meant that the Hufflepuff needed a strong friendship. Plus it helped that Idris was immune to Paul’s sarcastic and rude comments. So, no… there was no way that he would abandon his friend for such pettiness.
“Acted?” Idris’ smile widened as he felt a sassy comment that Paul usually activated coming forth. “After knowing me for all these years, you think my sweetness is an act?” He giggled, because being sassy with Paul was fun and because of Paul’s scowl. Though that scowl fell away soon enough. Id was used to that: Paul being rude at first but then mellowing out for a bit before the cycle repeated. “Not really,’’ he replied. “But I could go for a Nesquik drink too.” Id would never refuse one of those! “Want me to help you pick something out?
Meanwhile, kneazle Nesquik who felt quite outraged at being ignored by Paul, broke out his little fangs and made quite the dramatic effort of sinking them into the hooman’s ankle.

Hogsmeade weekends were the best in Emma's humble opinion. She'd never been sweet crazy, but she still enjoyed them and was even more excited to show her new friend all the British sweets. They'd compared some of the differences, but it wasn't the same as getting to actually experience Honeydukes !!! And afterwards they'd DEFINITELY be headed to the three broomsticks for a butterbeer, because you couldn't NOT do a trip without one.
"Rooseeeee...." the blonde glanced behind her to see that the other girl was still there. "This is it !!!" she turned around to face her in a 'Ta-da, hands in the air pose', as if at the end of one of her dance recitals, but really it was just the sweets shop.

Meanwhile, In Paul' mind, he hoped for some peace and solitude. Well, he was getting peace for the most part as Idris stood with him. Nesquik on his ankles though, might disrupt that peace. For every nice situation, something inside told him to fight it.
The scrowl returned, "What a stupid question, " Paul said. "You can't be sweet all the time, especially when talking with me." It just didn't make sense, but when did life make sense? Being nice was weird. That was what he was made to believe and he wouldn't rock the boat. Though, he couldn't help let his guard down every now and then, especially with their shared interests. Old habits die hard. "... Strawberry again or Chocolate?" He asked with his eyes trained on the chocoballs. "I was thinking of adding these to it... what do-AHH!" A slew of explicit words escaped his mouth as he felt the sharpest pinch in his ankle. Nesquik did not like to be ignored.
A horrible human would've likely kicked their foot at the creature. So what did Paul do? His foot remained rooted to the floor, the scrowl on his face remained... before he squatted down to attempt to scoop them up in his arms before standing again. Sigh.. "Sorry Nesquik." Do not expect pets from him though. Bites did not deserve such reward. He could feel the eyes on him, "Don't look at me like that." It wasn't fun being stared at while he contradicted his thoughts on people being nice. "Now what sweets would go with Nesquik?"

Her first Hogsmode weekend! Rose was brimming with excitement as she followed in Emma's footsteps. Her friend had promised her that they were going to be tasting traditional British sweets whatever that meant. Didn't the British eat gummy bears and liquorice like the rest of the world? Emma was determined that Rose needed to experience HoneyJukes in real life and taste the sweets to understand what Emma was talking on an on about.
As Emma stopped so abruptly in front of one of the shops, Rose wasn't alert since she stared at another interesting sign, and walked straight into her friend. "Oh, I'm so sorriiiiiiiiiiie." She quickly blurted out as she reached out to grab her friends arms. "I wasn't looking where I was going...Are you all righty? I didn't hurt you?" Glancing up at the shop she beamed "So this is Honeyjukes?" she queried curiously.

If Paul wanted to fight his good moments, that was fine. He just shouldn’t expect Idris to leave him that easily. Id was stubborn like that.
That scowl was back and he was doing all that he could to not burst out in a big grin because there was a ginormous chance that would upset Paul further. Instead, the Gryffindor simply shrugged. Was he offended by the words? Not at all. By now, he was quite immune to Paul’s silliness. “Whatever gave you any indication that my sweetness evaporated whenever I’m talking to you?” came the sassy remark. “By that logic, I would be extremely grumpy like you, don’t you think?” An innocent look plastered over his face, Id tilted his head thoughtfully. Whatever it was Paul was planning to add Chocoballs to, he did not find out just then. What he was reminded of though, was the Hufflepuff’s colourful vocabulary. And that Nes seemingly liked Paul’s attention and would go to great lengths to get it.
“Nesquik Grunt! Did you forget our talk about biting?” Idris wagged his finger at his little pink bby as Paul scooped him up. Though… Nes did not seem to be paying attention to being admonished. Instead, he looked quite content in Paul’s arms; those purrs were proof. “You okay, Paul? Would Dad E need to take a look at your ankle?” His friend didn’t seem too bothered by the bite but Idris needed to be sure he was okay. “Mum would so scrub your mouth if she heard those colourful words you just used.” Sniggering slightly, he pointed to the brown chocoballs. “What are they going along with, anyway?”

Paul could feel a slight tickle on the back of his neck from Idris reaction. It was unnerving yet admirable how persistently nice he was. HE DIDN'T DESERVE THIS! He wanted to scream, but thanks to Nesquik, his urge to scream was granted though for a different reason. "...I was making a Nesquik shake again. Figured you'd want some too." Hence the strawberry and chocolate option. "I thought some chocoballs would go nicely with the drink. What do you think?"
Paul had to smirk though at Idris' cool altering slightly when his voice became firm with the Nesquik cat bundled in his arms. Looking all innocent, licking its own paws. He rolled his eyes, "Never better.." His mood was described as such. "I'm fine.. just a scratch. Nothing to fret over." Plus, Professor Feirgrund made him uncomfortable. Someone that big being all nice and helpful... it gave him uncomfortable shivers. No one that powerful displayed that kind of care. Maybe his Uncle TJ, but even he wasn't that tall. Then again, it would explain where Idris picked up the thoughtfulness from as he stared at him examining the little scratch on him. "I think your mum would do more than scrubbing... I still can't believe she said you could keep him. Didn't she complain about all the fur he sheds?"
