Bright and early, Professor June is waiting for you in Greenhouse Two. She looks a bit frustrated, and rightly so, because the greenhouse looks a mess - despite the lovely renovations going around. It was almost as if it had all been done deliberately. Broken pots, broken windows, fallen over tables, and leaky ceiling.
Why, oh why?
Regardless, the lesson will still be happening, so come on down and find yourself a stool to sit or a corner to stand at. The lesson will begin soon.
OOC: HELLO! And welcome to Herbology Lesson 2. Hope you have read the rules, if not - please do so before posting. Class will begin soon <3
Ashley came in to class and stopped."Hello, professor. Also, why does this always happen?" She righted some tables. "Is it the invisible thing that keeps wrecking stuff? That would make sense." She continued cleaning up.

It was Herbology time and Naya arrived at the greenhouse in a good mood. “Good Morning Profe.......Oh!” Good mood cancelled. Naya saw the state of the greenhouse and professor’s face. She resisted the urge to ask what happened. That really didn’t matter. What did matter was how they could set things right.
“Have you got a broom Professor? I can start sweeping up the broken pieces.” It was a start. What was the deal with this place?

Violet entered Greenhouse Two and stopped in her tracks--it looked like it had been trashed. Just like the Trophy Room and the Charms Class--something was going on at school this term, there was no doubt about it.
"Good morning, Professor June. Uh...were things like this when you got here? Because the same thing seemed to have happened in the Charms classroom and the Trophy Room, too. I'm...not sure what's going on, but someone should look into it." Violet continued past the teacher, then stopped and turned around. "Uh...should we clean some of this stuff up now, or did you want us to just wait to start class?"
For the first time since everything started happening, Avalon wasn't at all shocked to see the absolute mess waiting for them in the greenhouses. Between the Charms classroom, the trophy room, and now this, it wasn't surprising to find a destroyed room in the castle every few days. She was more curious as to what was causing it. Could Peeves really be up to this much mischief?
Nevertheless, she frowned at Professor Flamsteed as she entered, understanding her frustration. It must feel terrible for so many of her plants to be ruined. "Hi Professor. I'm so sorry about all your plants....can we help you tidy up?" Avalon said, leaning down to pick up a big pot that had been turned over.

"Your poor greenhouse!" Cecelia's blue-green eyes were wide as she looked around, frowning at the mess. "I hope all the plants are okay." The broken pots weren't really a great sign of that, but one could hope. "I'm with the others, I'll help. I mean, if you want." She was used to cleaning up messes, really. It was 'cause she was so good at making them...accidentally, of course.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
Claudine wasn’t sure why Naya was offering to clean manually when they were all witches or wizards here. But she was with the others and was quite willing to help make this disaster of a greenhouse look better. She could only imagine Rainwater being sad about it all, just as Flamsteed obviously was. Claudine felt sorry for her. “Hi, professor,’’ she greeted softly. “Hi, Avalon, Violet.’’ The girl ignored the other but zoned in on Flamsteed again. Did she want them to clean now or…?
Mamie entered Greenhouse two and tilted her head as she looked around. Had garden gnomes gotten in? The place looked a mess! First charms, then the trophy room, and now the poor greenhouses?
"Ah...hello, professor," she said, slightly confused. As she was claiming a stool, she felt some water drip on her head and looked up to see the leaky roof. She was pretty sure garden gnomes couldn't make the roof leak. Very puzzling... But, there was surely a bucket somewhere that she could put to collect the leaking water...

"Oh, noooo... Professor!" Phoebe froze in the doorway to the greenhouse, and it took her a very long moment to get moving again. Why was the whole place falling apart? And that awful thing that had happened to Cece and Kiz and Emm? The place was just bananas.
"Headmaster says that we shouldn't wait to be asked to help or we're lazy and insolent," she hopped immediately to shoving bits of shattered pot into a pile. "So if this is part of the lesson and I'm ruining everything, can you take it up with him? I'm just trying not to always be wrong."

"Not this again." Emmerson had HAD it with being a house elf. These classrooms just kept getting messed up and THEY kept being responsible for it. It wasn't fair. She wasn't making messes and her mama never let her clean other people's messes.
The first year began skillfully stepping over all the rubble and mess, being sure to avoid looking at any of it, or at the Professor either in case she was giving little sad looks that said she wanted help.
Also gonna ignore Fifi's reminder of the Headmaster but what she would take away from it was, "Professor? Can I close the door so we don't have any interruptions on a power trip--ones that mistake us for house elves and yell at us for breathing? I can't learn under those conditions."
And the LAST thing the little girl needed was Trent coming in and taking over like last time.

Adam still wasn't sure how he felt about all this PLANT stuff. Plants were kind of boring but also kind of fascinating at the same time? He didn't know how to explain any of that. Still, he entered each Herbology class with an open mind - and he definitely noticed how torn up the whole place seemed.
"Yikes, what happened?" he mumbled to himself as he took a seat near the front of the class. He WOULD have offered to help clean up but...it seemed like everyone was already on top of that.

Herbology was one of Stella's favorite sibjects and snr slent aloy of time in them when she wasn't in class, to see the sight of it made her heart drop. Gasping at the sight of it, she bit her her lip. "Hello Professor, do you need a hand with cleaning up? I dont mind helping." Looking around once again, there were pots and the ceiling was leaking. Putting her stuff down, she bit her lip as she stepped on a broken pot. Josh had something EXTRA special and even WRAPPED tucked safely away in his bag to hopefully hide somewhere in the greenhouse for Professor Flamsteed to find. Or, well, that HAD been the plan until he arrived and he saw the state of things. He felt an initial tinge of guilt about thinking how this thwarted his surprise and why or why did it have to happen today of all days...but it passed quickly. Especially seeing how upset the Herbology professor was.
Swerving a bit to the left so he could bend over and turn one table back up on his legs and smiles at little and Phoebe as she addressed the professor. Everyone seemed keen to just jump to it and it was, well, it was really nice to see and made him think back HARD about all that he had overheard and witnessed in the Spirit Room. Talk about getting some TEA.
"Are you ... unharmed... professor? Physically. I mean. Since, well, I am sure this is all an emotional blow seeing your greenhouse and plants like this..."
Or, you know, he could just have said 'hello' and taken a seat.

Heath was in a fairly good mood as he made his way to the greenhouse for today’s lesson, but that changed the minute he stepped inside. His dark eyes darted around the room, taking in the scene around him,,, broken pots and windows, fallen tables, the professor’s frustrated expression. This looked suspiciously like the damage in the charms classroom, except thankfully, Professor Flamsteed wasn’t on the floor injured! Still, Heath couldn’t help but feel sorry for her. “Hello, Professor,” he greeted, giving her a sympathetic look.
What could he do to help? The room was such a mess, Heath didn’t know where to start, but he did know one thing. The fact that two classrooms had now been ransacked was incredibly suspicious! Just in case this was the work of some mysterious (and possibly cursed) entity instead of Peeves or a student, he didn’t want to risk touching anything. Looking around for a job he could do with his wand, his eyes fell to the broken windows. Maybe he could fix those with a Reparo spell? “Would you like me to fix the windows?” he asked the professor.

"Hello Professor." Valencia greeted before taking in the state of the room. Erm. Looks like someone had a bad day. She quietly headed to an empty spot. She repaired a pot that had been broken near her spot and slid it out of the way before flipping a stool upright and taking a seat.

This place was a disaster.
Kiz stood in the doorway of the greenhouse taking it all in. Terrible, horrible disaster. As she made her way inside, she gave Professor Flamsteed a sympathetic look. The greenhouse looked so sad. It made Kinsay feel sad too though she didn't understand why. So instead of moving to take a seat, she began picking up some of the broken bits and moving them to a pile in the corner. "Can it be fixed with magic?" By it she meant the windows and the pots and the plants and the leaky ceiling.
Hopefully it was only the matter of waving a wand because Professor Flamsteed was probably Kizzy's favorite professor in the whole castle and--

Hearing Emmerson's question sent a shiver down Kizzy's whole spine. "Headmaster Trent won't be coming will he?" A sense of urgency evident in her question. Please say no. Please say no. Please say no. Gryffindors weren't supposed to be scared of anything. Off course Kiz knew this. But.... It was hard not to be scared of him.

To say the goings-on at the castle were getting to be a bit annoying seemed like an understatement, Carys thought as she’d made her way out to the greenhouses for Herbology. Rooms that she didn’t particularly feel had anything wrong with them were getting renovated, others getting trashed. It was all just getting to her, not to mention the normal stress of prefect duties along with NEWT studies, for which she was actually looking forward to some time amongst the plants. Even given her continued feelings that the professor thought she wasn’t trying as hard as she ought to regarding the subject. She’d had to push those thoughts back just to retain her sanity. At least she knew at least one aspect of her life after Hogwarts was sort of set.
But, all conflicting thoughts in her head had vanished as she’d stepped into Greenhouse Two and seen the state it was in. Instead, she flashed back to last term and the storm, trying to save the plants while avoiding a flying pot to the head. “Oh,” she said softly, eyes flickering to Professor Flamsteed and noting the frustration on her face. “Whatever you need me to do, I’m willing to help.” Even if it meant cleaning while also paying attention to the lesson, she’d do anything for the greenhouse.

Oh.... oh no! What happened here?! Bernie had been running a little late, and was thus huffing and puffing as she rushed into Greenhouse Two. But... "I didn't do this," she stated, for the record, hovering by the door as she was hesitant to get into the middle of the mess.
She felt bad though, for the new professor... "I WILL help you clean it up, though." Also stating that for the record.

Uhhh ... what happened to the greenhouses??? There was something about it that made Carsyn suspect that it was not premeditated but also made her almost wish June the month not their professor would come faster because it would mean these puzzling days of Hogwarts would be over. Of course that also meant that she would need to figure out what she was doing next but surely it had to be better than monsters and mysterious things that brought disaster.
There was enough people it seemed who volunteered to help clean up, so Carsyn in turn nodded a polite empathetic look at the Herbology Professor before taking a seat on one of the stools. Sure she'd help if she was needed, but sometimes helping meant standing out of the way.

Running into greenhouse 2 out of breath, and dreading that class had started without him, Cole froze up at the sight in the doorway that met his eyes of broken pots and windows. Eyes growing wide with anger at the state of the greenhouse he really hoped that not too many plants had been injured in the attack. Who had done this? Was Hogwarts falling apart little by little or did they have an unknown culprit that just liked wrecking classrooms for fun? Going inside Cole turned his eyes to Professor Flamsteed. "Hello Professor, I’m sorry about the mess. Are all the plants okay? I can try and fix the leak in the ceiling if you want." Walking over to where Naya was standing he mouthed an inaudible hello.
Bundled up against the cold, Ivy walked into the greenhouse and immediately let out a sigh. Another ransacked classroom. Knowing they were going to have to clean things up before the lesson could start, Ivy removed her scarf, hat, and gloves and pulled out her wand. ”Hello, Professor,” she said wearily before she started to work cleaning up.
By now, she’d learned several useful spells to make the work go faster...

And then sighed heavily at her question, "I believe so, it's just so awful, so awful" June was distraught.

[quote=Nordic Witch]FONT="Tahoma"]Running into greenhouse 2 out of breath, and dreading that class had started without him, Cole froze up at the sight in the doorway that met his eyes of broken pots and windows. The last two! Finally.
Feeling a certain kind of urgency now, the other Miss Rose and Mr Vance stepped into the greenhouse, June waved her wand and shut the door. It was time.
"Alright, look alive, everybody" she started, moving to stand in the middle of the room. "Today, I wanted to talk to you about Vines. Some of you met some of mine in one of the previous lessons too. They are my absolute favourite to study" She smiled, but then immediately felt that smile fade away as her eyes wandered onto the vines in between the broken windows.
"But first, since so many of you offered to help me today, I gladly accept." Greenhouse care was really important after all. "While a wave of my wand will fix this, please understand that these plants are still recovering from the magical storm which happened last term and this added assault? It would be best to keep things manual. Now, please feel free to grab a broom or secateurs or a rake from the tool closet in the corner, and while making yourself useful - tell me what do you know about vines?"
OOC: First Question + Mini Activity is UP guys! <3 I'll be posting in about 24 hours!

Right.
Vines.
That was an interesting enough topic. As for the cleaning? With everyone volunteering to help with the restoration of the Greenhouse, no doubt it would have been done in no time at all. And it was safe to say she understood now why manual cleaning was better. She opted for a broom, grabbing one and getting started on sweeping loose soil and tiny broken pieces of pots.
“Some vines can be dangerous if someone comes into contact with them. They’ll try to grab their prey and wrap themselves around.” Like the Venamous Tentacula.

Naya’s morning got better when Cole arrived. She responded to his greeting with a smile and a silent hello. Shortly thereafter, class began. The first order of business was to clean up the greenhouse mess. Doing something productive also made her feel better about everything. The poor plants had been through so much during the last year.
Naya retrieved a broom and began to sweep up the the spilled dirt and broken pieces of everything. While everyone cleaned, the professor posed a question. Pausing her broom for a moment, the seventh year raised her hand. “A lot of vines are the climbing type. They attach themselves to walls, fences or any kind of stable structure really and grow upward.” And back to her sweeping she went.

See? Even Kizzy was hoping the Head Tyrant wouldn't be making an appearance. She didn't MIND shooting herself up into the air back in Charms but Emmerson bet she'd have enjoyed the lesson more if he hadn't been teaching it and hadn't separated her and her bestie.
Oh look, a stool.
The First Year gladly took the stool and SAT. In her mind, that was confirmation enough she was not meant to help and so, while everyone else grabbed brooms or whatever else they would like, the little girl remained where she was.
Again, she was NOT a house elf and this was NOT her mess to fix.
Her hand shot up at the question, still skillfully ignoring all suggestions she help with this mess of a greenhouse. "You can't swing on vines like they do in movies--not unless you cast a spell on them first otherwise they'll snap under your weight and you'll go splat and whatever you were running from like they do in movies will eat you up--and laugh probably at how stupid you were for trying."
What a lovely rake that was on the other side of the classroom.
It had nothing to do with her. Emmerson sat a little straighter on the stool waiting for the next question.
