Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort celebrates 5 years open
The very first Wizarding World of Harry Potteropened five years ago today, June 18, at Universal Orlando Resort. The opening gala was one for the ages, and SnitchSeeker was of course there live in 2010 to bring the latest. Here are a few highlights from Hogsmeade's opening that spring.

The week of events included the incredible red carpet event and Hogwarts unveiling on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, which ended with this spectacular shot of the castle.
Those who attended included Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Warwick Davis, James and Oliver Phelps, Tom Felton, Matthew Lewis, Michael Gambon, and Bonnie Wright, producers David Heyman and David Barron, and of course J.K. Rowling herself.
Since its opening five years ago, two new Wizarding World of Harry Potter attractions have and will be open to fans worldwide, like at Universal Studios Japan.

And now for a rant- Who in the world thought it would be a good idea to have the winners be first graders? Fifth graders would have been a more logical choice.
