WB cancels Phoenix preview screenings in Canada Warner Bros. is stopping promotional screenings for all of its films in Canada, including Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, to prevent the films from being filmed illegally in theaters and then sold worldwide. According to a rep for Warner Bros.: Quote:

*sobs* That's not nice  |
That's sad that we have to pay for people who cannot wait to get the movie. I don't mind if they cancel the theatre showing, and just buy the video when it comes out from a U.S site, but I really hope the movie release is still going. It's unfortunate. It's hard to stop piracy now FleurLaura |
that's to bad it's a sham. they should try and stop that piracy very soon because it's to sad to see it go this way. |
Aww That sucks but I spose they have their reasons. |
Aww man =/ Sounds awful |
What a bummer, especially for the fans in Canada! |
I would think Canada would have better piracy laws!!!! It's shameful that good fans have to miss out because of politicians' stupidity! |
Aww...thats too bad but its makes total sense. :D |
that really bites!! |
Ouch, I feel sorry for all those Canadian fans.. piracy sucks. |
What are promotional videos? Like trailers? Feel sorry for you, Canada. |
Oh, well...it makes sense though. |
That stinks! |
that is wrong and mean! |
wow i feel really bad:( i mean im sure Canada isnt the only country that has alot of piracy...oh well....... and its even worse because its not just HP movies but ALL Warner Brother movies:no: |

I think films will be however filmed illegaly: this deterrent can't function completely! |
Ohhh no! Poor, poor Canada! That's not fair! But I don't live in Canada so I don't have to worry. But oh no I have a terrible thought: What if that comes here to the US? Then I'll worry!! |
:( NOOOOOO that's not fair i wanna see screens NOOOOOOO |
that sucks |
What happened to commitment towards the fans? I suppose it's not that big a deal... I guess it's not the worst thing that could happen, I mean some people don't even get to watch the movies or read the books. But still... I'll miss the thrill of watching the trailers in big before a movie. |
Ooh, piracy... |
That sort shmux for the Canadians, but you really can't blame the government for not wanting the HP movies to be pirated.......:pirate::arg: |
That's so not nice of them. But, I see why they're doing it. |
that's so mean! Seriously, there's worse piracy in other countries, why just Canada? Gosh, I can list a few counties (my brother bought like, 5 movies in China and all were pirated. That's just an example), but that's not nice... well yeah. And piracy is everywhere anyways! Sheesh, I'm SSOO mad now! *keeps fuming about it* But yeah, it's not the worst thing that could happen... But still! No wonder I haven't seen ANY screenings in any of the theatres and movies I've seen. I've been wondering for so long why all these other places see them in the movie previews in the movie but not here... Anyways... |
