Sweets and Treats
Monday 20th July - Sunday 6th September
This summer, we’re inviting you to discover how film food – both edible and artificial – was made for the Harry Potter film series as we host our first ever Sweets and Treats feature.
Prop makers who worked on the film series will return to the Studio Tour to run delectable demonstrations, showing how props such as the floating pudding from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets were made.
The Gryffindor common room set will be decorated as it was for the Quidditch victory scenes in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, complete with decorations, sweet wrappers and a barrel of Butterbeer.

Back to School
Thursday 10th - Sunday 20th September
Go back to school this September by taking part in set design and storyboarding workshops at the Studio Tour, as well as discovering authentic sets, props and costumes from the world’s most famous school of witchcraft and wizardry.
Back by popular demand, this special feature offers you the opportunity to make a simple card model, like those used in the early stage of the design process, as well as creating a storyboard for your own original story idea.
As the nation’s children put on their school uniforms, some of our staff members will put on authentic Hogwarts robes, giving you the opportunity to examine the costumes of Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff students up close – you’ll even get to try on replica robes as you ‘fly’ a broomstick like a member of the cast!

Dark Arts
Friday 16th October - Sunday 1st November
This October half-term, delve into the Dark Arts as we reveal filmmaking secrets behind some of the darker aspects of the Harry Potter film series.
A section of the Great Hall will be dressed for the Hallowe’en feast from Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, with pumpkins, red apples and cauldrons of lollipops adorning one of the hall’s long tables.
You’ll be able to walk down a darker Diagon Alley as the lights are dimmed, the music becomes more foreboding and the wizarding shopping street set is patrolled by Death Eaters.

Hogwarts in the Snow
Saturday 14th November - Sunday 31st January 2016
This winter, fires will be ‘lit’, baubles will be hung and snow will fall as our Hogwarts in the Snow feature returns by popular demand.
Iconic sets will be decorated as they were for festive scenes, including the Great Hall which will be lined with eight Christmas trees, the Gryffindor common room which will be dotted with sweet wrappers, crackers and oranges and, of course, the Hogwarts castle model which will be covered in a blanket of filmmaking snow.
You’ll be able to discover how artificial flakes are created as well as special effects fire and – in the case of the Great Hall’s plum puddings – how real flames are controlled on set!
