Videos: Rupert Grint talks Hermione, Ralph Fiennes, crazy fan gifts & Cherrybomb
In an interview with The Red Carpet, Rupert talks about his surprise that Ron and Hermione ended up getting married, as well as whether or not he’d do a nude scene like his co-star Dan Radcliffe did onstage.
On Ron and Hermione's relationship:
Quote:
"I never really imagined that it’d get that serious. It was always subtlely played in the other films, awkward hugs and stuff. Now the film we’re doing, the last one … there’s a bit of a kiss. It’s quite strange."
On doing a nude scene in a play:
Quote:
"Not right now. I think it’s a nice idea. Well actually, it’s not really (laughs). Just being on stage is a massive step. It’s a very different kind of thing, but to be naked as well – I don’t think I could handle it. I do want to do a bit of theatre eventually, but I’m quite comfy doing films."
On the Box recently sat down with Rupert to talk crazy gifts from fans, Wild Target and Harry Potter. Rupert tells which prop he has from the Potter set, details about filming the flying Ford Anglia scene in Chamber of Secrets and reveals that Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort) recently delighted in making a young fan cry on set. The entire interview can be read here.

What’s the weirdest thing a female fan has ever asked you?
Rupert: I can’t remember being asked a particularly crazy question, but for some reason girls send me pyjamas all the time. I get them from all over the world! I don’t know how that situation came about, I can’t remember specifically mentioning pyjamas but lots of people obviously think I need a new pair…
Aside from Potter, your last couple of films have been about teen drug benders (Cherrybomb) and gangsters (Wild Target). Is it safe to say this is where your career is headed at the minute?
Rupert: Yeah Wild Target was fun, my character isn’t the typical gangster, he kind of stumbles into it really and doesn’t seem to feel that comfortable with it. But learning to fire a gun was a pretty surreal experience. The film isn’t out until June so I can’t say too much but my character does get to shoot someone’s ear off…
Now moving on to Harry Potter – have you managed to steal anything valuable from the set?
Rupert: They really don’t like it if you take stuff away. I haven’t been able to get much out of there. I did get a Gryffindor tie – not really that impressive! But now we’re coming to the end of the series, I would definitely like to get a memento. Something good. I suppose I need to get on that…
How about the flying Ford Anglia, that would make a decent addition to your collection…
Rupert: Yeah that would cool. I loved that car! Doing that scene was one of my favourite parts on the films. We were in front of this blue screen on a rig that was flying about like a roller coaster. It looked cool when it was finished as well…
How close are you to finishing the final film?
Rupert: We’re about a month away, it’s been a long one this one because it’s two films. Also there’s a lot more action, the second film is essentially just a war film. We get to blow the hell out of Hogwarts – which is quite fitting really!
What’s Ray Fiennes like on set? He looks pretty sinister at the best of times…
Rupert: This is the first film that I’ve been on set with him, my character doesn’t usually come into contact with Lord Voldemort thank god. Obviously he has to stay in make-up for most of the day when he’s shooting. He managed to reduce one young child who visited the set to tears recently, he definitely enjoyed that. But he gives everything to all the scenes he’s in and he’s got some really good scenes in this one.
Below is another interview with Rupert and co-star Rob Sheehan promoting Cherrybomb, courtesy of GMTV.
Cherrybomb will release in U.K. theatres tomorrow!
I won't worry until I see it. Rupert has his own way of saying things. Like, ''a bit'' of a kiss doesn't actually mean a bit of a kiss, it just means there's a kiss.
Also, that lady whispers "kisses with tongues?" and Rupert raises his eyebrow mischieviously lol!
