katiebell | 06-18-2010 12:38 AM | Videos: Red carpet interviews at Wizarding World of Harry Potter Several interviews from the red carpet at last night’s VIP event at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter have been released online. First up is Dan, Rupert Bonnie, James and Oliver Phelps and Michael Gambon describing what they think of the park and, later, Michael, Dan and Tom Felton revealed that they didn’t have much empathy for the recent griping from the mayor of London about the park being located in America instead of England. <object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/GZThjeP10ag&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/GZThjeP10ag&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object> Quote:
Dan: It’s something I was so intimately involved with for so long, you really care and you don’t want anybody doing anything to it or mucking it around or anything. But they have just done the most fantastic job, I cannot tell you.
Rupert: Just seeing the castle, that was the big thing for me. Just gave me a chill.

Michael: Oh he’s a silly old fart, isn’t he really? Boris Johnson. What’s he talking about. I mean only 10 people live in England, don’t they? So you’ve got to build it in America to get the money back.
Dan: Yeah well, of course it would be absolutely wonderful to have an equivalent in London. I’m sure Boris, as the mayor of London, is surely the man with the power to make that happen, one would assume.
Tom: I’ve got a few words for Boris. Well, mate, if you want the park to be open for 30 days a year, then put it in England. But realistically, come on, this is the place to do it.
| And a report from ABC News revealed that Rupert Grint managed to “acquire” a rather special memento from the Harry Potter set before filming wrapped. Quote:
Through all the tears shed when filming wrapped on the final Harry Potter movie, no one likely noticed the sudden disappearance of one small prop: the house number on Harry's childhood home at 4 Privet Drive.
"It was kinda hanging off," Rupert Grint, the actor who played Harry's best friend Ron Weasley, told Reuters on Wednesday night about snagging a souvenir. "It's at my house. I don't know what I'm going to do with it. I might put it on my door."
| In an interview with MTV, Dan Radcliffe tells of his and co-star Rupert Grint’s first impressions of Ollivanders Wand Shop and gives advice for riding roller coasters. <embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:529030" width="512" height="319" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=vid%3D529030%26uri%3Dmgid% 3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A529030" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed><div style="margin:0px;padding:4px;width:500px;text-align:center;font-family:Verdana,sans-serif;font-size:12px;"><a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/trailer_park/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movie Trailers</a> - <a href="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movies Blog</a></div> Quote:
Dan Radcliffe: "Me and Rupert stood outside Ollivander's Wand Shop for five minutes this morning thinking we couldn't go in. We were just impressed by the outside.

Dan Radcliffe: Make sure that [the harness is] really tight; you have to try to keep your eyes open and try to come out with the longest prolonged scream, and if all your hair hasn't gone on one side of your head at the end, you haven't done it right.
| Dan also spoke with MTV about the oddness of seeing himself in the Forbidden Journey ride. <embed src="http://media.mtvnservices.com/mgid:uma:video:mtv.com:528968" width="512" height="319" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" flashVars="configParams=vid%3D528968%26uri%3Dmgid% 3Auma%3Avideo%3Amtv.com%3A528968" allowFullScreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" base="."></embed><div style="margin:0px;padding:4px;width:500px;text-align:center;font-family:Verdana,sans-serif;font-size:12px;"><a href="http://www.mtv.com/movies/trailer_park/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movie Trailers</a> - <a href="http://moviesblog.mtv.com/" style="color:#439CD8;" target="_blank">Movies Blog</a></div> Quote:
I suppose there was an element of it being odd this morning when I was walking around, and there were a couple of odd moments when I appear on screen in front of myself shouting “Follow me!” But it's amazing. It's actually fantastic. I couldn't be more pleased.
| MSNBC talked to Dan Radcliffe about his impression of the park and how he thinks the members of the fandom will react to it.
