J.K. Rowling headed to Comedy Central's
The Daily Show with Jon Stewart on Monday, where she discussed her upcoming release of
The Casual Vacancy, as well as discussed American politics with the host. The videos, available only to those in the U.S. unfortunately, of the
Harry Potter author's interview can be seen here.
Rowling admitted she found heroes more difficult to write than villains, to the point of calling Luke Skywalker 'sexless', as he was only seen kissing one person in the series, who of course ended up being his sister. She mentioned that in
The Casual Vacancy there were two heroes, one being Barry in the beginning, and a second more slowly-emerging by the end (she didn't state who).
