God, I love her.
And that girl in her 20s? She's speaking for billions of other 20 something year olds who would have told her the same thing had we had the chance: "Jo Rowling, you are my childhood."
It's funny. As an original fan, the seventh book came out a couple months after I graduated from high school. When the seventh movie Part II is released, it will be a couple months after I'll have graduated from college this coming summer. I can literally measure my childhood by this series, and once it's really over, I'll truly be a grown up.

Shannon i just find it amazing that there is this generation that was clearly defined by a singular phenomena the likes of Harry Potter that has been running so long and so ever-present in the minds of people.. usually generations are defined by an impacting historical event, or a pop-culture phenomena defined by a movie or a musician. And that usually just spans no more than 5 years consecutively. With the HP generation, its what.... 10 years running? more? thats amazing!
it actually didnt occur to me that Harry and friends are actually my peers, until the very end of the epilogue when they had their own children and their cares. When I look at the timeline it only struck me that Harry was having his adventures at Hogwarts practically the same time I was in highschool, so in a way the connection which wasnt there during my first pass at the books suddenly emerged during my subsequent readings, my own experiences practically supplying the imagery and references JKR indicated amongst her writings. So i guess if your generation saw this as something slightly historical, as i did at the beginning, now i'm reading it as a story occurring during my teen years, so in a way i could also say "Hey Jo, you wrote about my childhood"  | |

And yeah my school life has been following Harry's as well-this is my seventh year in secondary school and as the year comes to an end both my time at school and Harry's time at Hogwarts will come to an end. The end of Harry Potter signals the end of my childhood. It's perfect timing | |

That was simply the most beautiful and inspiring interview I've ever watched. I teared up when J.K cried. She is simply amazing. Oprah and J.K Rowling are two of the my favourite women in the world. It was amazing how so many things in their lives were similar.
And what they said about Michael Jackson is so true. Most people spend their lives either in thinking about the past that would never come back or worrying 24/7 and planning for the future that they almost forget to live in the present.
Aside from that, J.K. Rowling is truely an inspiring woman. Aside from me, I wonder how many other people started reading with the Harry Potter books. I barely ever opened a book, until I read Harry Potter. It opened a new window to my imagination. Then I was encouraged to write.

She is such an inspiration. After all that she's been through, to turn it into something positive is truly a wonderful thing to do. And that girl definitely speaks for so many of us, JK you should be very proud of what you achieved, you sculpted our generation into something better and for that we will all be eternally grateful. My hero.
And OMG she doesn't completely write off more books! I don't know what I'd do if there were more, part of me likes the fact it's over, but the other part never wants it to end.
