Video: Half-Blood Prince soundtrack scoring session
Fandango has a new video online showing behind-the-scenes footage from a scoring session for part of the Half-Blood Prince soundtrack, which was recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London, England. In the video you can see both Nicholas Hooper, the composer and David Yates, the director, are present.

Really? I think the exact opposite, haha. I simply love John Williams. And it might sound like the imperial guards are coming because Williams also composed the music for Star Wars.
I think John Williams is a magnificent composer. And he would easily create more mature music for Deathly Hallows. I'm not going to lie, I like Nicholas Hooper, but I do not like the subtle integrations of Hedwig's Theme. They do it too much. If Hedwig's Theme has become such a trademark theme song to Harry Potter (which it has), then John Williams should continue it. I know he cannot just do it if he wants to and all, but I prefer him much more.

And the music is composed while the composer looks at the film. He creates a rough score and edits it to match the movie. Also, the movies don't always use the complete score; they'll edit it to match the movie.
This is really great though. I, in particular, am fascinated with the Harry Potter music and I play it all the time on my violin. Of course, I always have to play the dumbed down versions. Which isn't as spectacular as the original score.
I like John Williams music, I wouldnt mind him back for DH myself, as long as his music is far more mature than 1-3, not saying I dont like his music 1-3, but you know that style wouldnt fit imo with DH but thats probaly nothing to worry about, he would do fine most likely.
John Williams was the best composer in my opinion but I know you are entitled to your opinion. It's just that you shouldnt really bash a composer as from the video you can see the amount of hardwork they put into it. Although I wish John Williams would return, I dont hate Hooper and wish that he would retire. They all work hard and that's that.

I know. XD. But Williams composed Hedwig's Theme. I guess I should have rephrased what i said. If Hedwig's Theme has become a trademark theme song for Harry Potter (which it has), then Williams should do it again because he had the potential for trademarked theme songs. Don't get me wrong, I like Nicholas Hooper's music, but I like Williams more, plus he's a much more renowned composer. Not that that should matter, but....
