| | |  Vampire knocks Potter off the top spot
Now that Deathly Hallows has been out for a month, it is beginning to lose the top spot of the bestsellers list by a new novel, Eclipse. Eclipse, by Stephenie Meyer, follows the story of Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, a bloodthirsty vampire and a popular teenage girl. It is the third book in the series, taking place after Twilight and New Moon. Quote:

LOL! I did say that Stephenie is gonna be the next best thing. Every author has their time to shine, and it's definitely her time now. Her books and - when it's made into movies - will be bigger then HP, in my opinion. Oh, Edward Cullen! *faints* | |

Mwahah, it was only a matter of time before vampires ruled the world. 
Haha, this series is my ultimate favorite atm [at least in reference to ones that haven't finished.] HP may be amazing...but the love entwined in this series will make anyone fall head-over-heels...*le sigh* It's too different to compare, in my opinion.
Plus, I don't know about anyone else---> But I've realized that I dislike most of what happens in reference to plot...In that same way, you could say I love to hateee it. It's a very odd feeling. Unlike the HP books which ultimately take one night to read, I end up having to take a WHOLE week making my way through one of Meyer's books. 
They're just THAT good. 
BTW Ali, we do have a thread on SS for Eclipse and Twilight. I was just wondering, since someone mentioned that the series hasn't been out in the UK, whether you might want to look into it. Regarding the spoilers or whatnot.

I'm sad to see that Deathly Hallows is losing the top spot. Harry Potter is way better than the Twilight series. However, I must admit, I am also a fan of the Bella/Edward romance and adventures.  And I also recommend this series for anyone who needs something good to read!

Oh, I love those books!! I'm happy it was sucessful, but I never guessed it'd beat out Harry Potter!! That's awesome!!
Harry Potter is really popular, so I wouldn't be surprised it both were still on the best seller's list this time next year. (Actually, I would, and I hope they still are!)=)

I saw this on the news the other day. Vampires aren't really my thing, but I can see how kids would enjoy it. I agree with the author of Eclipse though when she said that she doesn't think that JK Rowling has to be worried about the competition, lol. HP is just ... different than the rest. Other things may come along, but I doubt anything will compare. | |
