| | UPDATED: July 16th: HBP Braille edition
It was previously announced by Thorndike Press that the large print edition of ' Half-Blood Prince' would be released on July 16th, the same time as the regular books. It's now been revealed that the braille edition will also be released on July 16th. Making ' Half-Blood Prince' available to everyone at the same time is a publishing first. Quote:
Author, JK Rowling, said: "I'm delighted to be part of a publishing initiative that gives blind and partially sighted children and adults the same reading opportunities as sighted book lovers."
Quote:
One blind Potter fan - 10-year-old Richard Wheatley from South London - said he was "really excited" at the thought of being able to read the book by himself.
"Last time I had to get my mum to read it to me and it took two months to finish," he said.
"This time, I can get it as soon as my friends at school do, and even read it in the car and in bed at night when I'm supposed to be asleep."
Source: Mugglenet UPDATE: Scholastic have now announced that the US braille edition will be released no later than July 19th. It will be printed by the National Braille Press. Quote:
"We are thrilled to once again work together with the National Braille Press to serve the blind and visually-impaired community with a braille edition of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince so close to the July 16th publication date," said Barbara Marcus, Executive Vice President, Scholastic.

That's really great!! I'd completely hate it if I knew others could get the book before me because they had something I did not.

We spent time here. We made friends here. That's a part of us.
Cause Hogwarts is bigger than any of us, of any of it's founders,
and it's going to be around long after we're gone.
Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.
No matter how long you're away from it, there's always a way back. |

This is excellent.
It's amazing how one series, one wizard boy and one amazing woman has created an brought together millions and millions of people. People have become more considerate (even if it does make more money...) and this things are what makes Harry Potter so much more than just one heck of a brilliant story.

Aw, that made me laugh. It reminds me so much of my little sister; she never gets into bed.

It's cool that more and more translations are being release on July 16th. I have dyslexia and while I can read quite well, many others with it can't read well. They listen to books on tapes so to have HP & H-BP out at the same time is super.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jeremy Bradford Fifth Year | "It's not who you are that holds you back, it's who you think you are not." I think that is awesome that they make the book available for everyone. I think it rocks. These books are so great, and I think that everyone should be able to experience them. I'm glad that other people see that way as well
