Tom Burke, best known for playing Athos in BBC's recent television adaptation of
The Musketeers, has
reportedly been cast as private detective Cormoran Strike in the upcoming BBC miniseries based off of J.K. Rowling's and Robert Galbraith's crime novels.
The seven-part BBC series, officially called
The Cormoran Strike Mysteries, which will begin filming this fall, is based off the first three books from the
Harry Potter author:
The Cuckoo's Calling,
The Silkworm and
Career of Evil. No word yet on further casting, and do note that Burke's involvement has not been confirmed yet by BBC, Rowling or anyone involved in the drama series.
Quote:
Filming of three detective books by Robert Galbraith (actually JK Rowling, of course), The Cuckoo’s Calling, The Silkworm and Career of Evil, will begin this autumn as The Cormoran Strike Mysteries.
I gather that Tom Burke, last seen as the nasty Dolokhov in War & Peace, will play the Afghan vet turned private ’tec.
