In November last year it was announced that Michael Goldenberg would write the script for ' Order of the Phoenix'. At the press conference today it was confirmed that Steve Kloves (the scriptwriter for all 4 Potter films thus far) will return to the franchise for film 6. Quote:
"[Steve Kloves] is a brilliant adapter, in the sense that he is able to retain the voice of the author that he's adapting....He is a fantastic writer, who manages to bring a... who has a keen sense of character, and really understands the voice of the actors. He has written four. He also can write with great emotion, and at the same time, also great humor.
"He is not doing the fifth because he is writing another script for me called The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime, which I hope he will direct. However, he read the sixth book and couldn't stay away, so he's going to come back and write the sixth."
At this, Mike Newell, who had just heard this for the first time, responded enthusiastically, saying, "Oh, great! Oh, that is good."

I wrote to David Heyman (and Michael Goldenberg) once through the official Warner Bros. website contact section. I dont know if he got it.. it was just afew months ago. And its exactly about making Ron Weasley canon in OotP.

I don't necessarily have a problem with not being canon all the time, sometimes it's quite necessary... it's just ruining of a character to prop up another that bugs me. Plus it tends to hurt Rupert because since Ron isn't canon, people blame Rupert's acting which truly isn't fair. This mainly has to do with Rupert with why I hate Kloves. LOL

This is a very bad news...I don't want Kloves. He always made Hermione a herione and with Harry only as there is no Ron but only Ron is for the comdic lines. Also I don't know how he will make Ron / Hermione- Harry/ Ginny romance. I see from the begining that he always wrote Harry/ Hermione ship and made Draco as a funny evil and this is far from Draco's character in the story!!! I hope now that Micheal will do good in OOTP. By the way, Does any one know movies that Micheal was its sreenscript writer???

The thing that irritates most of us, I think, is that Kloves just doesn't seem to get the characters. He takes a more cliche approach, instead of the individual way to approch them. He takes the comedic-sidekick approach to Ron, which he isn't. He is funny, but on purpose, not as a result of his mistakes. The 'spider' line in PoA was funny, but made him look like a prat, which Ron isn't, he is funny on purpose! And Hermione, don't take the cliche 'brain and heroine' approach. It is not her, let me make this clear 'Hermione is a sidekick'. That is to say she acts to serve Harry, just like Ron, not to take the spotlight. She is also not perfect, she has many flaws, she is bossy in an irritating way and she is very emotional.
These cliche characters have really hurt fandom, I don't like to group but certain H/Hr fan fics take these beliefs by the neck and abuse them. Hermione becomes a super Mary-Sue and Ron becomes a blundering background character like Neville in the earlier books. And if he continues this cliche mold and makes Luna a complete ditz or Ginny a crying little sister, I am going to boycott.
