| | |  Shacklebolt and young James Potter have been cast
CBBC Newsround is reporting that the roles of Kingsley Shacklebolt and young James Potter have been cast for OoTP. George Harris, who will be playing Kingsley Shacklebolt, has an extensive career in film ( Raiders of the Lost Ark) and televison.
Teenager Robbie Jarvis will be playing young James Potter in the Pensieve scene. He has had stage roles with the East Side Theatre Company.
Filming is set to begin February 5th.

Oh! Okay, I hadn't seen him in anything accept Prime Suspect. But I don't remember him being british. Or at least he didn't have a British accent. I could've sworn it was more... er, african, I think. In fact, IMDB says he's from Grenada, West Indies. I failed geography so bad so I have no idea where that is. LOL But... in any case, I remember him being a good actor. But I think they'd have gone better with casting the black guy who played the love interest of the main character. He was really tall and pretty young at that point, which is what I imagined Shacklebolt to be. I don't remember him in Raiders of the Lost Ark... I'd have to re-watch.
Can't wait to see how this young James is. I'm surprised they just didn't get Dan to do it since they talk so much about him looking like Harry when he was young. I mean... what? A 5 second scene? They couldn't do that?

Of course they're not identical, but the book describes them as looking pratically like each other. If I remember correctly Harry thought he was staring back at himself. Even HPANA makes mention that it won't be Dan playing a younger James, which is obviously what a lot of people thought would happen. And I doubt the audience would get too confused if they watched Dan looking at himself and then suddenly we hear the names 'Lily and James'. People would get it... they're not entirely stupid. And Dan does not look 17 at all. He looks quite young. Looking at him at that award show, he does not look a day over 15 really. Now if we were talking Rupert, I'd say definitely... he'd look too old to be doing that.

Well, I don't think it really matters, I was just *surprised*. They'd save some money by doing it that way and so many people who read the books are expecting someone who looks exactly like Harry. But, again, it doesn't really matter... I was just surprised. It also would've been interesting to see Dan play sort of a cocky person... a different character from Harry just to see how he'd do.
I do want to see what this guy looks like though...
