Rupert Grint to sue tabloids
 

Three days ago, a British tabloid claimed to interview Rupert Grint and published alleged quotes by him trashing Lindsay Lohan and Paris Hilton, Hollywood actresses in general and even included some negative comments about his co-stars Emma Watson and Jessie Cave (aka Lavender Brown).

This story, published in The Sun, was subsequently picked up by many outlets around the world and, as a result, Rupert's reps released the following statement today:

Of course it's The Sun, I stopped believing that Tabloid, I think most, if not all, they report are false news anyway.

I read that! I thought it was a bit out of character for him.... Good for Rupert. I can't believe a newspaper would just make up an interview though... It's so weird!

You know, even though I thought the Lindsay Lohan/Paris Hilton thing was amusing, I honestly couldn't imagine Rupert Grint ever saying such a thing in public, no matter what he thought about either of them.

Good for him! He needs to take a stand now against these tabloids who consider themselves "journalists." He seems to understand that it's also about other people as well. Regardless of whether it is Lohan and Hilton, Rupert knows that they misquoted him trashing LA and those other two. It's admirable of him, and it sets a precedent that he's not going to allow the tabloids to do whatever they want. I have so much respect for him as an actor and a person.

and... I am in the US so I am not sure, but haven't they been sued by other famous people in the UK, like Madonna or Paul McCartney or Heather Mills?! They should learn!!....

I read that article, and as I was reading it, I was having such a hard time believing that he actually said those things, I never believe the tabloids, I hope that this doesn't last him very long, he deserves much more than what they are starting with him!!!!! Go Rups, you're wicked!!!!!

good for rupert grint for taking action against that though... this is the first time they've published something like this about him right? its smart for him to stop them fast... it must've made him really upset to want to sue though... although defamation of character is a HUGE deal, especially to celebrities.
