Rupert Grint talks new movie 'Moonwalkers', Ron/Hermione at 'Postman Pat' premiere
Rupert Grint recently chatted about his new movie, Moonwalkers, which he has already begun production on in Belgium this month, as well as his thoughts about if Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger belong together. The Harry Potter actor commented on both of these topics at last weekend's Postman Pat: The Movie London premiere

Red Carpet News: What makes Postman Pat such a beloved and timeless children’s figure
Rupert Grint: I don’t know. For some reason he was my hero when I was a kid. I wanted to be a postman. I think that was because you could actually become a postman if you really tried. It was an achievable thing, opposed to other heroes that are just never going to happen. There’s always been something special about him.
RCN: You’re no stranger to working with beloved children’s franchises. Do you feel an extra sense of responsibility, and perhaps excitement, when you do that?
Rupert: This was just something that I really wanted to do because, as I said, it was such a huge part of my childhood. I think it’s going to be really fun to see him on a big screen finally.
RCN: Singing opposite Ronan Keating, how daunting was that? And is this the start of a budding musical career perhaps?
Rupert: I recorded it and then I found out Ronan Keating was who I was up against, which seems a little bit unfair. But it was fun. I really enjoyed doing the scene. I mean, they did a lot of autotuning. I think it was necessary, but it was good fun.
RCN: You’ve been doing a lot of varied stuff lately: voice acting, working on stage – award-winning work on stage. What’s coming up next for you and where do you see your long-term priorities?
Rupert: I just take things as they come, really. It was fun doing a bit of stage stuff. I’d like to do more of that. I’m doing a film in a few days, so that’ll keep me busy for awhile.
RCN: Can you tell us anything about that? Who you’re working with?
Rupert: Yeah, it’s about a fake moon landing.
RCN: Who do you play in that?
Rupert: I play … well, it’s kind of a complicated story. That’s as much as I can say at the moment.
RCN: I believe you had some very interesting on-set experiences with Shia LaBeouf.
Rupert: Oh yeah, I did. That was a film I did – The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman. That was a couple of years ago. It was a wild, crazy film and it was a crazy shoot. It was good fun.

RCN: A lot of people have been asking about this and there’s been a big debate among fans … J.K.’s comments about Ron and Hermione - how do you feel about that and has the fan discussion changed your opinion on the long-term viability of their romantic future?
Rupert: I haven’t really read that much about it. I have heard that people have said that. It surprised me ‘cause I always thought they were quite a good match. I dunno. But she wrote it so Jo probably knows more than me. I think it works. I think Harry and Hermione is kind of predictable, isn’t it?
