Rupert Grint promotes, discusses 'Snatch' drama, comments on Hufflepuff House Sorting
Rupert Grint did a full promo tour for the release of his new drama, Snatch (now available on Crackle's online platform here), including numerous interviews, junkets, and red carpet appearances.
The actor was naturally asked about his time filming the Harry Potter series, as well as his connection to Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (where he found surreal seeing someone else portray Ron Weasley), and his Hogwarts House sorting. A few highlights can be found here.
We spoke to Rupert Grint about @Snatch, identifying with Ron, and why he’s not thrilled about being a Hufflepuff https://t.co/kEuqoIIKHS
I saw on Pottermore that you got Hufflepuff for your Hogwarts house. Were you surprised by that?
Rupert Grint: Yeah, and a little bit disappointed to be honest. That’s just not the coolest one, is it? Yeah, it is a really clever algorithm.
On seeing Paul Thornley portray adult Ron in the Cursed Child plays:
Quote:
Rupert Grint: “I wasn’t really prepared for it. It hit me quite hard. It was kind of like an out of body experience. You’re seeing someone else take on a character that you’ve known for so long. I kind of grew up with Ron. I do feel like a lot of me is in that character.
“I have a weird relationship with Ron, where it’s kind of basically me. And seeing it live on is very surreal. But it’s an amazing show. I actually loved it. It blows your mind to see this magic world on stage live in front of you. It’s amazing. It just shows how clever J.K. (Rowling) is to be reinventing it and making it live on in something different. It’s amazing.”
Photos from the Apple Store chat he did in New York this week, and a Los Angeles red carpet, can be found below, as well as an assortment of video interviews where Rupert goes in depth about Snatch and his criminal character.
The cult classic film Snatch is now a high-stakes, high-octane Crackle Original Series. Get in on the action, gangster mentality, heists and rapid-fire dialogue that earned the original movie a shite-load of fans. Snatch streams free on Crackle March 16.
Starring Rupert Grint (Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets), Luke Pasqualino (Battlestar Gallactica: Blood & Chrome), Lucien Laviscourt (The Bye Bye Man), Marc Warren (Wanted, Hustle), Stephanie Leonidas (American Gothic), Phoebe Dynevor (Waterloo Road), Juliet Aubrey (The Infiltrator, The Constant Gardener), Tamer Hassan (Layer Cake, Kick-***), Dougray Scott (Mission: Impossible III, Taken 3) and Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl).

Oh, how we drift away from our friends. And the ones back home play remember when
Hufflepuff is my non-SS house (I'm a Hufflepuff on Pottermore) so I feel a bit offended whenever someone dismisses it as boring. Newt Scamander and Nymphadora Lupin (nee Tonks) are Hufflepuffs.
