Rupert Grint was profiled in the recent issue of The Hunger magazine, where he spoke about his upcoming projects,
CBGB and
Charlie Countryman (the official title now, as confirmed by Millennium Entertainment), as well as the
Harry Potter series. A behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot for the publication, and a dare he gives to fellow actor Russell Tovey, who was also featured in the magaine, can be viewed here. Note: there are some mature themes mentioned in the interview below, so do heed with caution.

WHAT ARE WE ABOUT TO SEE YOU IN?
Rupert: I’ve got a couple of things coming out at the end of this year. The first one is a film called The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman in which I play an aspiring porn star. That’s with Shia LaBeouf. And there’s also CBGB, which is about the New York club CBGB that discovered loads of punk bands.
TELL US A BIT MORE ABOUT THAT FIRST ONE.
Rupert: It’s basically a road trip about [Shia LaBeouf’s character] finding himself and travelling to Bucharest. On his journey he meets me and Luke [James Buckley] in a hostel. We’re both influenced by drugs. My character is a wannabe porn star who OD’s on Viagra. It was nice to do something completely different. It was a real change.
Is it also very different going from something as big as a Harry Potter production? It takes a while to get used to. I’ve done a few things outside Potter now. You can’t really compare it. Everything’s smaller, but it’s more intimate, more personal. Potter was this huge machine, a unique set-up.
DO YOU GET A LOT OF OFFERS TO BER VERSIONS OF RON?
Rupert: It’s hard to know what to do, I felt a bit lost for a while. There are a lot of the best-friend stuff. I’m not in a rush. It’s nice to do things that appeal to me. I’m always looking for weird experiences and something completely different, and these two films definitely tick those boxes for me.
WHAT WAS IT LIKE ON THE HARRY POTTER SET, SURROUNDED BY PEOPLE THE SAME AGE AS YOU?
Rupert: We were all kids, particularly in the beginning. We all left school and formed this school dynamic. None of us took it too seriously. It was just fun really.
Rupert chatted with the Huffington Post today live from England about portraying Cheetah Chrome, who was also on hand for the interview, in
CBGB, and what it was like to take on a punk icon.
CBGB is set to be released in theaters beginning October 11.
