| | Rupert Grint 'autograph ban' (updated) The Sun ... is reporting that pupils at Richard Hale School in Hertford have been banned from asking Rupert Grint for his autograph. They claim that anyone who does so will receive a detention. Quote:
The Sun's source said: "All the other kids were really proud of him and were asking him about the movies.
"Senior staff held an assembly warning pupils not to bother Rupert. Anybody flaunting the rules gets a lesson long detention."
NOTE: The Sun is a tabloid newspaper so take this with a pinch of salt.
It's also worth mentioning that Rupert finished school last summer; he stated so in an interview with The Guardian newspaper in November last year. Quote:
"I'm a year closer to being able to drive. I've finished school, so don't have any more homework."
Source: The Sun UPDATE: A scan of the article can be viewed here courtesy of RG.net. It appears to be talking about PAST events. |

And I love them for it, in a way. But I wanted to post this to make sure that people knew it's most likely rubbish and to not believe it.

karen, perhaps that's their policy. "Have you ever told lies and got away with it? Did your teachers always call you "the bad kid"? Then call at The Sun because we have the job for you."
So this means that after doing his GCSE's Rupert's not going to continue studying right?

Or how they even qualify to call themselves journalists. Of course, there could be a chance Rupert is wrong and he didn't in fact finish school. But I think the boy himself would be most likely to know what he's doing And if he says he finished school ... quite frankly, I believe him over The Sun anyday.

He did his GCSE's last summer; Dan did his this year. Rupert then went on to say in November that he'd finished school. Case closed.

See that's what happens when I get the tenses wrong. Thanks for answering though. I still find it weird that one doesn't continue studying, but that's probably just me. *shrug*

Well a lot of people do. But at 16 the child labour laws end. Which means as an actor they can work more hours. And really if you're as famous as them you don't need to do A Levels as much as say ordinary kids do, because they've already got an occupation. Having said that an article did say Dan was going to continue studying.

I know. We have the same educational system around here. Maybe it's just me having always been taught that you need to keep going higher and higher. Meh.
But I guess in Rupert's case, who also seems to be a very promising actor, he can just continue acting without any problems like school.
I remember Dan said he wanted to continue studying in one interview. There will probably be a number of the other HP actors who will continue. If I recall well, Tom Felton for example said he would.

Rupert is so lucky to have finished school now! In Australia you can drop out in year 10 which means you will be 15/16. How old is Dan? And isnt Rupert the oldest of the 3?

The driving age is 17. That quote is from when he was 16, last year.
