| | |  Rumour: No Quidditch in 'Order of the Phoenix'? - UPDATE
An Italian newspaper recently printed an article in which it was hinted that David Yates and Michael Goldenberg had decided to cut Quidditch from the fifth film.
Allegedly it was stated that the game wouldn't affect the rest of the plot and therefore could be cut.
Please remember to regard this as a rumour until we hear otherwise from WB.
Source: Harry Potter Fan Zone UPDATE: The Italian website that posted the original rumor is now stating that they have been in contact with someone who works on the OotP set and that this person told them that the set of the Quidditch Pitch is still in pieces at Leavesden Studios. I can't see them excluding the entire topic of Qudditch out of the movie as it is an essential part to the storyline.
This is just another rumour that people are starting--remember the Green Flame Torch?

i really hope it's just a rumor. quidditch is too awesome to cut. plus ronald! hello. it needs to be there. they cut too much from the movies already. they cant cut quidditch too...

It doesn't really mean that it is certainly true! They still have a few months of filming left and it they may not have filmed it yet.
I would love to see Quidditch in Order but *Coughs* be a little realistic... it is a huge book and they have to only fit in the important details. Only if there is significance in Quidditch in Order then they will have it in there! But ... Well it's a case of waiting isn't it! *Sits and waits biting her nails*

N... No Quidditch? B...But I love Quidditch! It was going to be so funny in this movie. No Weasley is our King? They might have it but only refering to Ron when not in stadium. I don't know, but I hope this rumour is not going to be fact. :-(

That's ridiculous if this turns out to be more than a rumor. It's not like we have that many movies left (especially with Quidditch in them - we know Book 7 won't since JK Rowling already said something about how she felt writing her last Quidditch scene in Book 6), why would they take away a part of the movies that everyone loves so much? It probably is quite a bit of extra work and expense but if you're going to make a Harry Potter film and make it believable, you'd better do it right.

No Quidditch?! What? I can't believe it! I won't believe it! I'm Quidditch mad and I forbid them to cut the scenes out! Also Rupert was looking forward to Quidditch in the fifth film he said so in the fourth DVD!!
Don't deny Rupert of his loves!
And anyway its part of the story! While Harry is in detention with Umbridge Quidditch trials are on and he hates her even more for that! And we don't get the song?

I really hope this is just a rumor! Realistically, I know it will be tough to fit in Quidditch into such a long movie, but so many important moments/themes come from Quidditch in OotP!! Isn't OotP where Hermione kisses Ron (just on the cheek, but still) before his first match? I hope they don't cut that!

it probably is a rumour. the directors should see this thread before deciding on that. and see all the protestors of not including quidditch. i actually want it included. it'll be ron's first year on the quidditch team.

Firts in Harry Potter 3 there was now Quidditch campionship won no Oliver Wood
then in Harry Potter 4 the whole chapter "Padfoot Returns" is cutten off, I mean what r they playing at ? | |
