Rowling worth preserving for the future

In a survey involving 3,000 people J.K.Rowling was the only woman to make the top ten people most worth preserving for the future. The top four looks like this;

1) Wayne Rooney
2) Robbie Williams
3) Peter Kay
4) Freddie Flintoff

J.K.Rowling came in at 7th place.

In other poll-related news, Bloomsbury is conducting a survey to find out who is the vilest villain in literature. Both Draco Malfoy and Lord Voldemort are options in the poll. To vote for who you love to hate the most, go to this page. The winner will be announced on September 4th, coinciding with the release of H.I.V.E (Higher Institute of Villanous Education), a novel by Mark Walden.

Thanks to The Leaky Cauldron and Mugglenet.

Sounds a bit like "mummifying" to me ... :rotfl:

But any success is good success ... I guess :erm: So congrats to Jo!

ezzer123 06-20-2006 04:09 PM

that's sick, i hope they don't mean mummification!
Still glad she was on the list though - i think.

Padie 06-20-2006 04:15 PM

That's awesome! :D

Kazters 06-20-2006 04:16 PM

“Dear Jo,
Hi! I’d just like to let you know I love you and your books so much I’d want to stick you in a freezer! Thanks, and please have a nice day :).”

How’s that for gratification? I’m surprised that she’s the only woman to have made the whole list- I would have thought there would be at least two or three.

Padfoot 06-20-2006 04:45 PM

Awesome yeah I think she's definitley worth it she's such a great writer the future needs a taste of her style

Brianna Lopez 06-20-2006 05:09 PM

yes!

she is a brilliant woman and the future deffinitly needs her. If she helps others as much as her books helped me, we'd be alot better off.

Maxilocks 06-20-2006 05:17 PM

W00t - Go Jo!

This is brilliant. :woot: From the four people whose name Emma presented, I only know Peter Kay. [:/] Oh well. But I'm so happy people think Jo worth preserving. She should have been a #1. She's the best of hem all. *huggles her* :glomp: Go Jo. You're brilliant.

Incidentally I voted for Dracula in the Favourite Bad Guy Poll. ;) He's my favourite, when you read all of his comedy + action + horror mix fiction. :loved:

cgold 06-20-2006 05:32 PM

Totally agree. This lady needs preserving :)

Blackened 06-20-2006 05:36 PM

Only woman in top 10? Hmm...

And who wouldn't preserve Jo? ^_^

Mrs Felton 06-20-2006 05:42 PM

That's great, JK needs preserving more than Rooney. He does my head in.

GinnyWeasley07 06-20-2006 05:44 PM

Congratulations, JKR!! She so deserves to be remembered all throughout time, just not as a mummy or ice cube!

X-Girl 06-20-2006 05:45 PM

Wow...Only woman? XD

Either way, Great Choice.

futuremrsmalfoy 06-20-2006 05:46 PM

neat really cool....go sweden and england!!! actually go sweden!!!

siriusly_loving_gary 06-20-2006 05:47 PM

It sounds a bit strange, but still ... way to go!

loony 4 ........ 06-20-2006 06:28 PM

Wow!! She deserves to be in the list. But putting Wayne Rooney in the list is going to far, unless he helps England win the World Cup

dancerbookl 06-20-2006 06:43 PM

Wow, she soooo was going to get it. Great job!
