| | |  Rowling donates premiere purse to charity
The Scotsman reports that J.K.Rowling has donated a purse she took to the ' Philosopher's Stone' premiere to a charity auction, which will benefit Women's Fund for Scotland. The 'small black Rodo purse' will be auctioned, along with other items, on October 6th at the new members' club 29, in Glasgow's Royal Exchange Square.

That is great! It makes me feel great that in buying Harry Potter items that she gets a cut of, that she is in turn giving a lot to charities instead of using all her wealth on things she doesn't really need. LIke Tom Cruise and an ultrasound machine!!

That's so sweet. Here's hoping she gets loads for it, and will be able to give a great deal to a good cause! It's wonderful to know that people we idolize and look up to are doing something with their fame - it makes me feel better about putting so much energy into the fandom because they're grateful and they want to give back.  Way to go!
