Post Roger Lloyd Pack talks Potter

In an interview mainly focused on his role as John Lumic in Doctor Who: Rise of the Cybermen & The Age of Steel, Roger Lloyd Pack briefly talks about his role in 'Goblet of Fire' as Barty Crouch Sr.

Quote:
"It [Harry Potter] was big budget, great production values, the job went on for nine months on and off and a nice character [Barty Crouch Senior] to play - something to get my teeth into. It was a big production and there aren't many films made like that, certainly in this country.

"It was a good crack, it’s just a pity he had to die really.

"I'd read the first book as my children were appropriate ages for Potter when he first came out. I did see all the films – I always prefer the films to the books to be honest with you.

"It was a fantastic set. There were dozens of workmen working for weeks on that set, it was stunning and it was thrilling to do those scenes," he added.

That was cool. He seems nice. Bit weird calling his character "nice" though! Who prefers the films to the books?

I agree, he's a bit stiff when it comes to shady characters. He was much better at comedy.

And he didn't mean Barty was a nice person but that it was a nice character to portray, probably because he had more than one agenda.

Of course, Harry Potter movies need a huge production. They are a great work

It must be really cool 2 b in a Potter film! I sooo wish I could even have a small part, or an extra. His character was an "intresting" guy. He was really lucky!

Even though i can't understand how he can compare the films to the books, the books are sooo much more vivid, informative and detailed, i'm happy he enjoyed it. Personally, i'm quite happy Barty Crouch Jr. died. One death eater less..

It must have been the experience of a lifetime. Goblet of Fire certainly was a "big budget" with "great production values." And when he calls his charrie nice I wonder what he means. The Barty Crouch Sr. I know wasn't exactly the nicest of all people to come across. Quite the opposite - if you would call him that.

Lol. That strikes me as extremely comical. Die early eh? LMAO!

So he's a Potter fan too? That's nice...Many Harry Potter actors are. In fact most of them have read it. But I prefer the books over the films. The films leave out too much and they don't have half as much thrills as do the books. Oh well...

Quote:

I an see why he was so excited about doing Goblet of Fre. As he said earlier - There aren't many films made like that. It must have been a great prospect for him, to play Barty Crouch Sr. in Goblet of Fire.
