While promoting the debut of his BBC documentary Back at Sea (Wednesday, BBC4, 8.30pm), where he will make a tour of Britain via a barge (boat), actor Timothy Spall commented on a Harry Potter set piece given to him as a present, and where it is now.  I’ve got an ear in my fridge from the last Harry Potter film...
I was given it as a present after filming so I hope no one thinks it’s bacon and shoves it in a roll. I wouldn’t have missed playing Peter Pettigrew for the world. I even had an American couple in a lift in New Mexico who said, ‘Are you the rat dude?’ I think I should call my autobiography that.

That is so funny. I certainly didn't recognize him at first. There were very few characters that I couldn't find redeeming qualities in, but Pettigrew was just weak. Held up to all the characters that went down fighting, you've got to love the message that in the end he defeated himself!
