The Scotsman has an article about a signed copy of
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix which has sparked an online bidding frenzy on a charity auction site.

Bidding for the hardback has so far reached £820, with other items including signed copies of a Surrey County Cricket Club voucher, Jeffrey Archer’s “A Prison Diary” and a Jamie Oliver apron proving popular.
Children’s Link spokesman Kirsten Baxter said: “By clicking on the charity auctions section on eBay, then clicking on to the Children’s Links’ charity page on the site, you will access a range of unusual gift ideas, which also include a Match of the Day script signed by Gary Lineker, a Liverpool FC tour for a family of four, Victoria Beckham’s signed autobiography and a football signed by Grimsby Town FC.
“As well as bidding for these unusual presents, you will also be raising money for a good cause.”

Ms Baxter added: “Thanks to the supernatural powers of JK Rowling and the generosity of all the other celebrities, the auction has already exceeded our expectations. We’re not a large charity, so this has made a real difference.”
