| | Post Office prepares for Potter
As the publication date for ' Half-Blood Prince' draws nearer, the Royal Mail Post Office prepares to deliver mass copies of the book to fans all around the UK. Quote:
Hundreds of thousands of copies of the sixth wizardly adventure have been ordered, so the Post Office will need 150 more trucks than usual on 16 July.
Posties delivered 500,000 copies of the last book, and expect more this time.
The books are so heavy, some postmen might need extra help carrying them on their Saturday morning rounds.
But if you're worried they might not cope, don't panic.
Spokesman James Eadie said they had a "very carefully planned operation" set up.

Well there's bound to be good organisation in this thing. Else they'd have to deal with millions of hungry fans. |

Maybe we'll see our kids come here one day.
That's the thing about Hogwarts.

Glad the post office is getting prepared. lol Their going to have a lot of work on their hands I wish them luck. Anyways I least I won't have to worry about the post this time or standing in lines. My b/f ordered one for me on my b-day and getting on sat. I'm soooo excited about the new book and I hope that it is thick so people have been saying that it is going be smaller.
HP rocks! :ballcap:

It's slighty smaller. Smaller than GoF for UK fans, smaller than OotP for US fans. UK = 608 pages. US = 672 pages. Still a hefty read though and certainly bigger than the first 3 novels.

| Yep, they were making these preperations for the release of the last Harry Potter book cause I remember sitting down and watching a story on Newsround on the week of the release 2 years ago. Although I am a bit worried that I wont get my book or something because next week it will be the 12th in N.Ireland and there will be no post on the 12th and 13th. I am worried this may cause delays in the postal service here and my book might be delayed. I know that this might probably have no effect since they have preparations in order but I can help but be a bit worried that the book might not come. All I have to do is stay calm and have trust in the postal service. *The book will come*...*The book will come*. |

I used to work in a bookstore. They'll probably start shipping a day or two before, but the stores are under strict orders not to sell them before the release date. they'd get into serious trouble if they did, so don't even think of trying to sweet-talk a store manager into letting you have yours early. I now work in a music store, and it works the same way with new CDs and DVDs.
