George Bush, Hussein and Tony Blair

Political Potter

The directior of the 3rd Harry Potter film, Alfonso Cuaron, as compared George W. Bush with the evil Lord Voldemort. Now he's also found Hussein and Mr. Blair in the magical world of Harry Potter.

The evil Lord Voldemort is a cross between George Bush and Saddam Hussein, according to the mexican director Alfonso Cuaron.

- Both of them has egoistic intentions and loves power. Nither do they have any respect fot the inviroment, Cuaron tells Newsweek.

Tony Blair is compared to the slippery Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge.
- He denies a lot, and he tries to make things happen in his own favour. The way he handeled the Iraqi War, is not unlike the way Fudge handeled the happenings in Book 4.

grrr i love blair!!! i think it was unfortunate he got mixed up into the war.. he really didnt want it. bush was being pushed by warhawks like rummsfeild to have a war, and tony blair intially said he would only ally and help us with the war if all attmpts to give up weapons were denied.. btu bush was sending in troops before it was fair to send them in. grrrrrrr. and poor little blair just got roped into the whole danged thing. but in being american i still am happy we have one ally we can always count on as blair, so it makes me happy even tho i was against the war.

The Middle Ages, the long pause between the fall of the Roman empire and the Renaissance, when the world went dark and ignorance held sway, lasted from the fifth to the sixteenth century.

The tax collectors, the curales became surfs; from their own pockets came any defiency in collections. The only escape from the dubious role through any ascension to the Roman Senate.

Christianity spread through the decaying empire that gradually got obscured in the mists of time.

Just as Rome collapsed, are we facing our own end of our great nation?

You would probably say no, just like the Romans did. The real answer was yes and I fear that could also apply to our country.

Where will we be in a century? A millenium? Only time will tell the true answer.

We must not gain ignorance and take things for granted, like the Romans. We must also be aware of the fact civilization depends on books. The written language transcends individuals, and ultimately testifies to the history, dreams, aspirations, and accomplishments of a nation.

To destroy what is written insults the very God who created life.

Any literature, which grips the child's imagination and compels him to read, is good .

Which makes the outcry against the Harry Potter books rather puzzling. How one come to the conclusion that in the around 2,500 pages of the Harry Potter saga, a literary classic, lies some sort of demon, eager to corrupt young children in the name of Beelzebub, is beyond my comprehension.

Rather than damning the teen-age boy wizard, we should be grateful of him showing millions the joy in reading.

How one conjures images of the devil and his kin possessing a British woman to convert millions to Satanism by using delightful books is beyond the streches of human logic.

The real horror to the whole campaign against Harry Potter are visions of books being burned...a dance to the tune of ignorance.

This editorial made me cry...

Okay. Somebody had way too much time with the press and nothing to say.

You can make out the pixels on the larger photos which are at the home page. I don't like Cuaron's comparison of Lord Voldemort to George W. Bush as it's totally revolting.

Agreed! I'm Iraqi, though I live in NZ. Most of my family lives there, and from what they've been telling us, nothing's changed. It's all worse because barely anyone can go out now without being mugged or hurt. It's too dangerous. And all this....why? For weapons of masss destruction that don't exist? North Korea admitted it has them...and Bush wants to "talk". Hypocritical or what?

I think George W. Bush is giving the world a bad image of America. He goes to war without U.N. permission and kills thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians, but does he give a darn like he did on 9-11? No, he does not, as he is a power-hungry war mongrel. *Note: "darn" isn't a bad word in Britian*
