| | OotP goes on sale in Japan today! - Summary:
Japanese HP fans will finally be able to get OotP in their own language! Article: OotP goes on sale in Japan today! Japan Today reports that Order of the Phoenix has been translated to Japanese and will be avaliable to Harry Potter fans from today! Quote: The Sept 1 release date, of course, co-incides with the start of the new school term at Hogwarts School of Wizardry and Witchcraft, which any Harry Potter fan knows.
Japan has proven to be a goldmine for the young wizard. The first four books in the series have sold more than 16 million copies in Japan so far. The first run of "Order" will be 2.9 million copies, said the Say-zan-sha spokesperson.
Many book shops opened early, around 5 a.m., to meet the rush. Matsuoka, as she did last time, is spending the day handing out books at various stores throughout the metropolitan area. They also have this picture of the woman who translated the novel from English to Japanese, standing outside a book store waiting to buy her copy. Her name is Yuko Matsuoka. You can see a picture of the Japanese OotP cover here.

| Probably because it came out in other languages before Japanese, the plot of the book has maybe been ruined for them but i sure that they wanted to get their hands on it. If i were japanese all id be saying right now is "About Time!" |

I wonder if HP has the same popularity in other countries (besides UK and US), such as Japan..?
Does anyone know?

Man, I'm glad that I speak the same language as JKR. I would hate having to wait a year knowing that most of the world has already finished the book...
Happy Reading, Japan!

Does anyone know? Well I know there is a big fan base in Australia.
But I would really go mad if i had to wait a year. And also won't all little clues that may explain the next books be lost? Cause I also speak greek and when I try and translate things it doesn't turn out right, poor them
