Online Fan Fiction-Better Than Stealing Music - Potter Project discussed in this article

Summary:
Article in Media Daily News discusses the Potter Project and the popularity of Fan Fiction!

Article:

Quote from aritcle:

"Here's how it works: Every week, a Potter Project moderator asks would-be Rowlings to compose scenes of one to three pages in length based on a rough outline of a fictional scenario. Fans then vote for their favorite scene, with the winning scribe receiving a prize (in this case, scarves and wands from "wizarding emporium" Alivan's Master Wandmakers) and a profile on Potter fan site SnitchSeeker.com. At the project's conclusion, the winning scenes will be assembled into a screenplay."

Interesting...its a little disenchanting to here that our dear potter project is all some great advertising scheme to make money though
either way, its fun!

So ,they're going to make it into a screenplay after The Potter Project is finished? That would be interesting to watch.

from the article...
'The Williams brothers are obviously keenly aware of the marketing possibilities that could emerge from smart use of the FanLib technology and savvy appeals to online fan communities. '

thas what I meant. they also say that the creators are always keeping track of what everyone says on the ppj boards. . I mean, I still love playing and everything, its just sad that this all comes down to money and selling the script to a network.

*edit
(yeah i sort of messed up how to quote, but you get the general idea)

Yeah, this was an interesting article. Fan fiction is really fun!! I just got through reading a REALLY good fan fic called "Harry Potter and the Black Medallion." It is a chapter fan fic and picks up in Harry's 6th year. There are only 3 chapters right now but a 4th is on it's way! It's at www.fans-of-rowling.com in Lupin & Snuffles Book Corner. There is also a REALLY funny fic there too called "The Final Battle."
If you love to read fan fiction, then go check these stories out!!

I love fan fiction, you should go to the bbc website and read the jk inspired story about ghosts. It's original, it's clever, and i know all potter fans will want to read more than the few chapters posted online! Am also so excited about this idea above
