| | No 'Half-Blood Prince' MP3
The Wall Street Journal has an article which details why it's unlikely that ' Half-Blood Prince' will ever be available as a downloadable e-book. Quote:
But the novel that would undoubtedly be the biggest digital audiobook seller of all time, J.K. Rowling's coming "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," likely won't be available for downloading. To date, Ms. Rowling hasn't made a deal for the book to be published in a downloadable format, and none of the previous Harry Potter books are available that way, either.
Mr. Naggar, president of Bertelsmann AG's Random House Audio & Diversified Publishing Group, which publishes the Harry Potter series on CDs and cassette tapes, says he has had discussions with Ms. Rowling's representatives about digital audiobooks but nothing has been decided.
Jo has previously warned fans against Potter e-book scams.

the mp3 would take up too much space on an ipod or mp3 player anyways. it would be like 20 hours long and that is massive.

Why would you want to listen to it (unless you're blind or have bad eyesight)? Reading it so much more enjoyable.....but that would take up like all your MP3 space!

But I suppose buying cassettes and cds would be much better than downloading it from online, even if thery are costly. I hope I would never fall for those traps/scams in the future.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Professor McFarlane Graduated | IndyEddie Appearantly I'm the only one with a downloaded book..............of course mine are still in "reading" format. I've got Wizard of Oz (Or is it OZ???) on my PDA, and since thats so small, I cant stand the idea of reading it off that *shudders*
I can understand wanting to hear the book when you're driving, or if you're like me and reading in the car makes you car sick after a while, but that's what Book on Tape is for. I agree with everyone else here, it'll take up way too much space.

If it was on mp3, it could be easily copied and then shared, which will obviously decrease book sales. I'd rather get the book, because you never know if the file gets lost, you will have wasted your money.

I much prefer the paper-back-books!
