| | |  New Orleans to Host 'Phoenix Rising'
Phoenix Rising, an educational Harry Potter convention, has been announced and is set to be hosted in New Orleans from the 17th-21st of May, 2007. Aspects of the Harry Potter fandom and cultural phenomenon will be explored. Among the many events planned, there will be panel and roundtable discussions, debates, games, Quidditch, an art gallery, FanFic readings, and a Masquerade Ball.
Still recovering from the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, the city of New Orleans will provide a lovely and appropriate backdrop for the festivities. Registration is now open and Call For Papers begins March 31st, 2006. More information may be found here.
