Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that. I was like, "Am I just thinking that because I don't think Dan's that great of an actor?" 'Cause I try to be as objective as possible... but maybe it's the scan it just appears that he looks like he's laughing/smiling.

In any case, the scene does look sad. Harry's reaction doesn't make me feel anything... it's seeing that dead body there. But there is nothing worse than seeing a dead body... especially if it's someone you love.

He's not smiling, he is crying and when anyone cries so desperately it looks like that. Next time you cry, look yourself at a mirror and you will understand it.

No, you are not been objetive, becase Daniel is actually doing a great performace in that scene, maybe you need to see other movies like 'The Hours' or 'The English Patient', because you will be surprised how much it looks like the performaces of the great actors that act in them.

Yes, that's why I said 'trying' and that 'maybe the scan is bad'. Because to me it DOES look like that. It's the first thing I thought. But this is a still picture and that doesn't show the whole scene. I do like to be objective as possible and I'm hoping beyond hope that it doesn't come off like that, but this particular picture, imo, does come off to ME as that way. And obviously I'm not the only one... there are three other people who thought that on this forum alone.

I love and adore Cedric, I am not gonna be able to watch him die in the movie. It's just going to be rough.

But the pictures alone are neat can't wait for the film.

we've? Are insinuating that you and someone are ganging up on me because I stated *gasp* I thought Dan looked like he was laughing in that pic? Honestly, I didn't even look at the pics you provided. I know perfectly well that people can look like that. I'm 25, I've seen enough TV shows and movies to know that. LOL I don't know what patty (who btw, I have on ignore) has told you, but I don't hate Dan. I want him to be absolutely brilliant because I want the movies to be good. But I won't stop from voicing an opinion - which is to say the picture does look like that. And I'm sure everyone else was stating the same opinion with no malicious intent behind it.

Thank you Steph. This isn't about the actors, it's about the film. If you want to discuss Dan's acting then go to his fan club thread where I'm sure you'll find everyone's opinions are agreeable to yours.

Members should not be made to feel victimised and we won't tolerate it. Several people shared the same opinion yet only one was singled out. That's not fair. You can't force your opinion on other people. If you don't like someone's opinion then walk away, don't start trying to tell someone they're wrong for having a mind of their own.

Sorry but I agree with Tao, Dan looks like he's either smiling or crying of happiness in that pic. I'd be hypocrite to say that it moved me to tears or any strong emotion.

But, okay, my opinion is based only on this particular pic.

This pic might not even come from the exact scene that makes the final cut of the film. So let's give him a chance.. let's just wait and see the entire movie first, and watch how he actually acts out this depressing scene -- before passing judgment. I wont say yet that Dan's acting (especially his crying) hasnt improved since PoA.
