| | |  Maggie Smith to reprise McGonagall role in Deathly Hallows
In a discussion of her life's work and upcoming feature From Time to Time (co-starring Timothy Spall), actress Maggie Smith spoke about her tribulations going through breast cancer treatment last year whilst working on Half-Blood Prince. She also confirmed that she will reprise her role as Minerva McGonagall soon in Deathly Hallows. Quote:
She revealed that she made Harry Potter and The Half-Blood Prince — playing Professor Minerva McGonagall — during her cancer treatment. “I was hairless. I had no problem getting the wig on. I was like a boiled egg.”

YAY!!! I had no idea she was going through cancer, but she had an amazing performance so Way to Go!!! I am glad she is better and I hope it stays that way!! Glad she is back for Deathly Hallows!!! Love you Dame Maggie!!

I'm so glad she's doing better!
And for whoever doubts her being too old to duel, just think back to the series. McGonagalls has proved time and time again that she may be old, but she can duel!
(That film sounds very interesting!)

Professor Macgonagall would be her if Maggie Smith wasn't portraying her.
I am soooo glad that she has a clean bill of health. And, pray God, that it stays that way.

I'm very glad that she has a clean bill of health now! I absolutely love Maggie, and I'm glad to see she's better. She also has a lot of dedication to work while undergoing treatment, and I admire her for that.

Oh my God I had no idea she had cancer...  I sure hope she can...tough it out, for the sake of a better term, if anyone's been noticing, there's been a HUGE amount of deaths in the entertainment community this year.

I loved her in Sister Act, Divine Secrets of Ya Ya Sisterhood, and ADORE her as Minerva!!!! Maggie Smith ROCKS!!!! :-) Glad to hear that she is better- had no idea she was that sick-couldnt tell at all in HBP.
