| | |  Luna Lovegood hopefuls in the press
Articles about girls short-listed from the Luna Lovegood casting call have started to emerge. Recently it was announced that it had been narrowed down to 400 girls. Jessica Hoggins, 14, from Newport and 15 year old Laura Scaife from Dunholme are among that number. Both articles include their story and pictures of the aspiring actresses. Quote:
Jessica, who will be 15 next month, was encouraged to go for the part by Ian Billings, of the drama group Stagecoach, who said she fitted the blonde-haired blue-eyed description for the part.
She was shortlisted to read from the script and take a screen test.
Quote:
Laura's stepfather David Hoskins told the Chronicle: "She's been into Harry Potter ever since the first book came out and reads them over and over again.
"She read about the casting call on the internet on Thursday and asked if she could go, and her dad took her down on Saturday morning."
At the call, the children were seen in groups of 50, of which four from each were asked to leave further details, and Laura was among these in her group. She is now waiting for information about the next stage in casting.

out of those two, I think the second one looks more like how I imagined Luna...I think they'd prolly both be good (whomever is chosen will be good...), but the second one gets my vote

Neither one looks like what I hadimagined for Luna! Jessica looks like she'd be the popular type,and Luna's character is the opposite. Laura looks to in the know.....she doesnt have that dreamy look.
I'm praying they do Luna some justice&match up her character to the person's physical appearance andacting ability.
i.e. Stanislav was a great Krum but wasnt Cedric supposed to be the 'pretty boy'? I think they got confused..lol.

Just think these are only 2 girls from a huge list of hopefuls. Neither fit what I thought Luna to look like. I don't know why I just never pictured her to be a "pretty" girl. I always thought her to be rather plain, intelligent, one to follow her own road, and of course a daydreamer... I have been disappointed in a few of their casting choices but overall they usually do pretty good. I wish all the girls luck!
